  1. Okay, I definitely need SyFy to renew this after that cliffhanger. I need to find out what happens to Nolan and Irisa!

Amanda is making a bad choice with Pottinger. And I loved Linda Hamilton's character up until the moment she kidnapped her daughter and son-in-law (although I'm worried Christie went along with it).

    Great finale!

  2. I just hope their not being written off with that ending because it's pretty convincing unless their pod just open's for no reason i don't see them coming back

As for Christi I don't think she's in on it but I'm more worried she's going to go crazy during the ride she had that same look when she was confessing to alak about killing his mistress

  3. I really like how the show deepened the relationships for several of the characters. I enjoyed seeing how strong Nolan and Irisa's father-daughter love is. That "I will die for you" love is always such a powerful moment to watch, esp. when written and acted well. I liked all those scenes of Irisa and that

I also liked Datak and Stahma finally being truthful about the love they have for each other. They've become more interesting for me to watch this season. I was entertained by the Tarr's murdering of those men together, as well as how odd it was that it was these mobsters who were the ones who rescued Rafe and Berlin, from the E-Rep, no less (it was incredulous and hilarious, with my feelings mirrored by Berlin's laugh).

I liked Mama McCawley, up until the moment she kidnapped Alak and Christie. I liked all of Rafe's scenes, short as they were. His newfound family-ally relationship with the Tarrs, is actually pretty fun to watch.

I do not like Pottinger, never will. He's creepy, and I don't find him charming, in any way. I just don't get why Amanda so easily fell for his lies. I am so disappointed in the direction Amanda's character has taken. Her betrayal of Nolan, in addition to her falling for Pottinger, just irks me. I guess I'll have to give up on Amanda and Nolan now, if there is a next season.

After that season finale, the show could go in a few different directions. They could have Nolan and Irisa waking up in the future, and the show do a time jump, with just Nolan and Irisa as the only same characters. This might be just in case some of the other main cast can't wait around to find out if the show is renewed.

  4. I really want the show to be renewed. They ended on a cliff-hanger and everything - and I hate it when shows end that way.

  5. Loved it! really enjoyed getting some background on the buried ship/terraforming process to a point - still a lot of stuff unknown that I still wish we could find out about....intersting that the main centers for the ERep and the V Collectives were wiped out, I wonder if Defiance is the only place remaining. really liked the Nolan/Tommy bits and bummer and RIP Tommy... not really sure what to think of Pilar and Quinton's motives and if they really have a plan..... the Nolan/Irissa parts as always were the best and enjoyed all the scenes on the buried ship... I truly hope that the show gets a renewal as this season was excellent especially in the writing and that I'd love to see more even if it's a season to close things... fingers crossed

  6. I loved how the Arc brain took over Erisa and had her try to destroy the planet. I loved how Nolan was able to thwart the Arc brain and in the process destroy the rest of the arc remnants. I loved how that will prevent the Earth being hit by arcfalls.

  7. Watched it finally. I thought it was an amazing finale. Hoping that we get Season 3.

  8. Even though I can't stand Irisa, Nolan's undying devotion to her makes her and their relationship work for me, especially this episode. Don't really care about Tommy's death. The show has never really given him much to do other than have other characters point out how incompetent and green he is at his job, so less dead weight I reckon.

I didn't mind Mama Crawley either until she went all bunny boiler and kidnapped the kids. And I wish they'd killed Quentyn instead of Tommy. He's a useless mama's boy who needs to crawl back in the womb and disappear.

As for Amanda, she's been all over the map this season. Really did not like how she's betrayed Nolan after everything they'd been through together. And now she's actually started falling for Pottinger? I really hope that Nolan is done with Amanda, because they really destroyed that ship before it had a chance to fully develop.

Not sure what to expect in Season 3, but I hope that at least Rafe gets much better treatment given the thrashing he received this season.

  9. Great finale to a much improved second season, the middle episodes of this season were a bit of a let down after the great run of opening episodes but they really pulled everything together. The best thing about season is that it truly made me care about the characters, I was overwhelmed with emotion in this episode, I cried when the Tarrs thought they might die, I lost it during the great Tommy and Nolan moments, I loved everything between Nolan and Irisa. Just so many good character bits and the weird mystical stuff finally paid off.

It better get a third season after the bullshit Sy Fy pulled with Alphas.

  11. What did I think about this episode? Most of it I can sum up into one simple sentence: What the hell are you doing Amanda??

  12. Late but: he was Kai the Iratian opposite of Irisa who was the key to stoping the ship.

If u known now, read it from ur past mind. If it's even possible.

  13. Awesome season finally.

I have no trust in Amanda character. What she did for me if unforgivable I hope Nolan sees it as such also. The world danger thing to me don't fly in this case when her character was shown to care for Nolan / least trust / I mean do you remember her look when Nolan came back to town. She should of been one of those person to take the slim chance of someone in the minority someone she trusted. But didn't so she can do whatever she wants with Mr Creep Mayor.

The Kazuri Arc Ship arc concluded very nicely for me. It was nice to see there was good purpose to the arc that started on the first episode of the series. And that it didn't get wasted by effort of saving the day before it happened. Instead we got to see the catastrophic damage it was able to do by wiping out what probably was the biggest lively city of E Rep in the world.
    The destruction scene was nice.
But in the end I'm clad Nolan finally freed Irisa of the AI Irzu and then she and Kai destroyed the ship. And even if they remain stuck in those bio life pods it would be a happy end for those 2.
"We live or die together" true to the end!
That's what I value with them and the end scene.

In a way for me it doesn't get renewed it would still have been a complete finale for me from my caring of only Nolan and Irisa.

But do hope it comes back.
Is do fear a bit for the future storyline where it could go in the grand scifi aspect with no more arc ships in space.
Would the Volge finally come to light now?
Other wise it will just be a character driven show but that can't last long in scifi.
I think I might read up on some Defiance game lore to see the possibilities.
