I've watched so much British programing that's I've gotten used to a LOT of the various accents. A few of the thicker Scottish accents still escape me. I should have a good ear by the end of season 1 though. :-) My plan is to watch with closed captioning on.
I think she said to Claire, "oh eye, I find what you mean, but do you mean to say you know what to do for that". And Claire nodded, then she replied "you're a charmer or beaten".
Not sure about the beaten word though. Hope that helps :)
Yup. She said "Oh, aye. I ken fine what you mean. But do you mean to say you know what to do for that? You a charmer then? A [???]?" I wanna say 'beaton' was the last word but I think that's wrong.
Thanks. You saved me from looking it up. I enjoyed the first episode much (being reminded of elements from the book that I'd forgotten, that I decided not to reread it now)
Did they upload the other sneak peek to spoilerTV yet? I stumbled across it on EW
Didn't Laird Callum say Beaton was a healer, who caught a fever and died. I think the Laird asked Claire if she was related to Beaton (I thought he was saying Beacham, though).
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Honestly as an Australian watching this show i sometimes find it hard to understand the english/scottish accents in the show

ReplyDeleteshe does say Beaton, it's a clan name. They should explain a lot more about it a bit later this episode.
