Thanks to Bruce_F for the heads up
New Girl is plotting a May-December romance for its fourth season. The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Rob Reiner will again reprise his role as Jess' (Zooey Deschanel) father. And he's returning with a fiancee.
That lucky lady will be played by It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia star Kaitlin Olson. She's booked a recurring gig on the Fox comedy as Ashley — a woman who isn't just the future Mrs. Bob Day, she also happens to be Jess and Cece's (Hannah Simone) high school nemesis.
The storyline will be introduced during the third episode of the upcoming season, set to air in late September. New Girl is old hat to Reiner at this point, after first being introduced as one half of Jess' divorced parents (alongside Jamie Lee Curtis) during the sophomore season.
