NCIS: New Orleans - What Can We Expect?
25 Aug 2014
BN NCIS: New Orleans ReviewsWith the 2014-15 TV fall season fast approaching, and the premiere for NCIS: New Orleans just around the corner, let's take a look at what we can expect from this brand new series, NCIS: New Orleans. NCIS: New Orleans is the second spin-off from the mothership of NCIS (currently in it's 12th season), with NCIS: Los Angeles already a very successful spin-off. We don't know too much of what NCIS: New Orleans could be like, but judging from the backdoor pilot that was part of NCIS, we do know some information on how this series will turn out.
Casting
This is one thing we can expect, we know that Scott Bakula will play NCIS Special Agent in Charge Dwayne Cassius Pride, Lucas Black will play NCIS Agent Christopher Lasalle, Zoe McLellan will play NCIS Agent Meredith Brody and CCH Pounder will play Doctor Loretta Wade. Also just recently Rob Kerkovich has joined the cast and will be playing assistant M.E. Sebastian Volle. Most of these characters we have seen in the backdoor pilot on NCIS, and I must say they make a good team. We can most likely expect there to be some sort of romance between Lasalle and Brody, but we will just have to wait and see.
Crossovers
CBS has confirmed that there will be some sort of crossover between NCIS and NCIS: New Orleans, because of the friendship between Gibbs and Pride, Gibbs will make some sort of appearance on NCIS: New Orleans for the second time. There is also expected to be other characters cross over onto NCIS: New Orleans from the original NCIS. Showrunner Gary Glasberg says, “There’ll be a couple episodes that might come up where you see a couple NCIS characters,”
What I Want To See
In NCIS: NOLA, I want to see something new, something that stretches it apart from it's counterparts in DC and LA. I do want to have that original NCIS feel, but still something there that makes it different and unique.
I also want to see some very intense cases, I don't want a season full of single episode cases, Cases that are intense that need two/three episodes is what I love about NCIS, I really would like that to be the case in NCIS: New Orleans.
I want to see some relationships, I know we can expect that between Lasalle and Brody, but who knows? Maybe someone outside of the NCIS team might step in, it would be really good if that happened.
Finally, I want to see some good old fashioned action, a gunfight in a bar, a tactical assault on a safehouse, that's what I love about NCIS. I really hope we get to see a lot of that in NCIS: New Orleans.
What do you want to see in NCIS: New Orleans? Be sure to watch NCIS: New Orleans at 9/8c on Tuesday 23rd September on CBS!
Congrats on your first post Ben, welcome to the team!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the team Ben. Agree with you 100% about NCIS:NO having it's own feel and it needs something to set it apart from the other 2 franchises.
ReplyDeleteThanks very much! Can't wait to start writing regular reviews!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment! Really appreciated!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to this a lot, mainly because I have never watched a NCIS as there are just way to many episodes to catch up on. I also love CCH Pounder and Scott Baluka so that makes me even more eager to watch this.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the team by the way and great review. Can't wait to see your weekly reviews!
Thanks for the comment Rob! It sure is a great cast!
ReplyDeleteWelcome Ben. Nice post. I won't be watching this show (despite watching both the original and LA) due to me hating the backdoor pilot. Hope you enjoy the show though.
ReplyDeleteGreat review. I am also looking forward for this show. I am a NCIS addict since I am a kid.
ReplyDeleteI stopped NCIS L.A. last year so I hope I will like this one. But with the apparition of NCIS's originals characters, this is gonna be good.
Hi there, thanks for your comment. I have also enjoyed both NCIS and NCIS: LA, will be interesting to see how this one fits in.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment! Hope you enjoy the other two then!
ReplyDeleteCBS has chosen a good schedule for the show (just after NCIS and before Person of Interest) so I am sure the show will work.
ReplyDeleteYes, agreed.
ReplyDelete"friendship between Gibbs and Bakula", surely you mean Gibbs and Pride? :)
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, thanks for pointing that out, just changed it.
ReplyDeleteNP. Welcome to SpoilerTV :)
ReplyDeleteGreat post, Ben and welcome to the team! I'm very much looking forward to NCIS NOLA. Really liked the backdoor pilot. I'm hoping to see Paige Turco as Pride's wife in a couple of episodes.
