WHAT?!?!?! I´m happy for Milla but unhappy for the delay of the movie, we are gonna have to wait 2 or 3 years to see it :( I hate it when actresses get pregnant in the middle of their carrers. In TV shows they either add the pregnancy into the storyline (OUAT), which isn´t a bad thing, or cut the episode order (Scandal) or doesn´t appear in a few episodes (HIMYM). And in film sagas they delay the filming (RE) :(
Gee it's almost like building an entire movie franchise that was supposed to be based on a game around a brand new character played by the director's wife might be a bad idea. Who knew.
Hopefully parenting will consume so much of their time that they will be unable to participate in the movie, allowing the rights to fall to someone with the slightest understanding of what made the games great in the first place.
Well maybe Paul will have time to write some at least believable script because since 2004 when the 2nd movie premiered every next one is worse. But Retribution tops them all. In stupidity. Big time
Some fans are so up on their high horses that they tend to forget that the games had absolutely retarded arcs and plot twists as well. Moreso than the movies. Remember that guy that went around dressed like a chick and controlling lickers trough his opera voice? Or how about the entirety that was RE6? Let's not talk about Alexia Ashfords transformation. Or every single villain in the RE franchise that still kept his/her mind after being turned in a tyrant or something bigger.
The games NEVER had good storylines to begin with and believe me....I've played ALL of them (except the handheld spin-offs)
So actresses are not allowed to have babies because it "interrupts" their career? That's wrong in so many levels. Plus, you can't compare Ginny's pregnancy to Milla's since OUAT is a family-TVshow where a pregnancy can be easily covered off and SnowWhite had already talked about wanting kids. Unlike Resident Evil, which is an action movie and hiding a pregnancy is pretty much impossible.
True, the characters were thinly drawn and the plots increasingly absurd, but what made them great was the atmosphere. The settings, the visuals, the music, the creatures... if done right, the games could have been adapted into some really solid genre movies. Paul "not the good one" Anderson's films have very litle atmosphere, especially the most recent ones. They are Resident Evil in name only.
PS. I'm referring solely to Resident Evil 1-3, as all the games after that are Resident Evil in name only as well.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteThey could have added it depending on how far along she got. But whatever. I'd really rather see a reboot that closely follows the games.

ReplyDeleteGood for them! not so much for the movie franchise, though.

ReplyDeleteI love the fact that they're so utterly stupid. Looking forward to each one, fun, stupid and full of action.
