Warner Bros has staked out a date a year later than the Disney version for its take on the Rudyard Kipling classic about an orphaned boy raised by animals in the wilderness. Now officially titled Jungle Book: Origins, has been slated for October 21, 2016.
Andy Sirkis is set to direct the live-action film, to which Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu had been in talks to helm last year. The script is by Callie Kloves, daughter of Harry Potter series scribe Steve Kloves, who is producing.
