Paul Feig, director of Bridesmaids and The Heat, has emerged as the frontrunner, according to sources, and Feig has shown interest in taking on the project. Sources caution that no formal negotiations have taken place and a lot must be worked out before the casual discussions turn serious and Feig accepts the job. But he is the studio's first choice, these sources said. Sony declined to comment.
Sources say the film will be a reboot focusing on female Ghostbusters.

I'm fine with that. Change it up a bit.
ReplyDeleteI would love for them to take on 2nd cartoon, extreme ghostbusters, If the go only female think it would be to much Lara Croft.
ReplyDeleteEither way looking forward to the reboot, with this and power rangers coming back I might even go back to cinemas to watch movies.
I see Ghostbustrers and the song starts playing in my head.
ReplyDeleteThe first one was cute, the second,not....Spend the money on something else, please!
Reboot?! REBOOT?! RREEEEEBBOOOOOOOTTT?!

why do they have to do this? pfff
ReplyDeleteAs long as no current or former cast members within the last 15 or so years of SNL are cast in this I'll be ok with this.
ReplyDeleteI think it's a good idea. Just make sure the script is good and it gets the original cast member's blessing. I think some good possible ghostbusters would be: Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, Regina Hall, Alison Brie, Gillian Jacobs, Kristen Wiig, and Uzo Aduba.
ReplyDeleteTerrible idea!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure I would want to see the original Ghostbusters back for another film, but I know I do not want to see some masqueraders in their place.
Well this sounds like total crap. lol and I'm not even surprises because; Hollywood
ReplyDeleteIf Ghostbusters 3 has 4 or 5 member team and 2 of the members are women............I'm cool with that. As long as the story is as good or better than the first film it could work with the right actors/actresses. But who will be casted for this "reboot"? Nobody, 4 NOW!!!
ReplyDeletestarring Andy Samberg as a quirky, annoying character aka. the only character he can portray
ReplyDeleteI think I would prefer this over a sequel without all the main cast.
ReplyDeleteWell, unless they cast Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, in which case even a funeral becomes entertaining, I think this will suck. Not because it focuses on female ghostbusters (that is actually the only good thing about it), but rather because REBOOT (like, seriously?).
ReplyDeleteCast Emma Stone!
ReplyDeleteI love this idea. It's a fresh and new way to reinvent the franchise.
ReplyDeleteHave the new set of ghost busters all be daughters/nieces/granddaughters of the originals.
[ Dr. Peter ( Bill Murray ) Venkman, Dr. Raymond ( Dan Aykroyd ) Stantz, Dr. Egon ( Harold Ramis ) Spengler, and Winston ( Ernie Hudson ) Zeddemore ]
Murray, Aykroyd, Ramis, and Hudson could all make cameo's in the movie.
Cast Melissa McCarthy, Emma Stone, Kate McKinnon, Aisha Tyler, Sheryl Underwood. and Julia Roberts
[ Tyler and Underwood would be sisters ]
Reboot NO, Sequel with next generation a mix of genders/races/etc with some of them the children of the previous team some of whom have brief cameo appearances Maybe...
ReplyDeleteStop rebooting, start sequelling
ReplyDelete"Reboot fo focus on female ghostbusters", correction "Reboot fo focus on sexy female ghostbusters".
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately they'll probably cast supersexy actresses on tight overalls and stilettos instead of focusing on the comedy. *eyeroll*
One thing's for certain, Harold Ramis will not be making a cameo.
ReplyDeleteSadly, he died February 24 earlier this year.
