TVD: It's interesting how Julie Plec keeps using the term "slow burn." First to describe the future of Steroline, and now when she talks about the Big Bad for Season 6. I'm glad that it won't be anything huge that will either excite or annoy fans. It looks like the show really is going back to basics, and I love how mysterious everyone working on the show has been. The more spoilers, the more excited everyone gets, and the more people get disappointed if they don't see exactly what they wanted. I've found that each episode is still enjoyable in its own way even if the story plays out in a way that I didn't expect.
Plec said Klaroline was going to be a "slow burn" and it ended up being incredible rushed and forced. I don't care about the Caroline ships as long as she stays away from my dear Enzo.
I think Klaroline ceased to be a possibility, at least as a slow burn, when The Originals happened. That's one of several relationships that will never be possible because of the spin-off. It's too important to the EPs, probably for contractual reasons more than creative ones, that the two shows and the characters/stories in them stay separate. We don't know how involved the book publisher is with TVD. When Nina Dobrev played "Two truths and a lie," one of the three things she said was that Elena will be in a lesbian relationship. It occurred to me that Caroline might be the one who deals with her grief that way. It was said that we'd be surprised about who Caroline "moves on with" when she copes with her loss. I don't know where or when JP said that Klaroline would be a slow burn, but it must not have been recently, or maybe it was reported by an internet blogger who misquoted JP. That happens a lot. The slow burn relationship is supposed to be Steroline, which I hope is an endgame relationship if anything. I'd like to see the series end with Stefan having love in his life. Damon would also probably have a more stable relationship with Bonnie than he did with Elena.
As for Enzo, Candice Accola posted a BTS photo from a scene in 6x03 where Caroline and Enzo are in a diner together. Hopefully it's just a friendly chat. I don't see why Caroline needs to be with another English guy. The cliche alone is annoying.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
I'm so over Rumbelle! There past was beautiful but present neglected and awful.
ReplyDeleteI'm affraid for VD, they can rose like a Phoenix or fall apart even more. o
