Review and Recap of Episode 2 And Here...You Must Listen
The first thing we see in the episode is the mother of Madison now known as Marcus to us , running out the front door and shouting her name. I'm going to nitpick here and say she could have looked a bit harder , I mean she was just walking around calling her name she could have at least phoned someone or ran anywhere to try and find her. We do then see Madison in the next scene standing creepily in the middle of a train station with passengers walking around her. She is staring at a clock which is about to turn towards 9.00pm. We see how she got to the train station with flashbacks, she gets given a book along the way with the number 9 written on it which contained money and a key, again this mysterious number 9 keeps popping up just about everywhere. Why is it so important? It must be highly significant to the story. Inside the book also was a train ticket to Seattle , which was where Amy was going , I strongly think it isn't just coincidence and that both of them are linked somehow.
Everyone in this show seems to be linked together somehow and it should be exciting to see everything eventually piece together. Another thing that is bothering me is I haven't a clue if Shepherd is good or bad or if Marcus is. I do wish that they focused on one thing at a time or answer some questions first before giving you more to wonder about. I mean I just want one answer to one of my hundreds of questions I have.
We see a lot of Jack in this episode, who is my favorite character on the show and has the best story line. We see a flashback of him waking up in bed with Amy , except it's not Amy. My theory seems to be correct about Amy , it does look more likely that she is like Madison and the girl from episode 1 "Possessed or taken over my someone" as she starts speaking a different language which could possibly be Russian as in the episode the cab man named George who we later meet towards the end after Jack tracks him down tells jack information about the day Amy got a lift in his cab. He says how she said on the phone to someone that she lived in Russia , and that she assassinated a labor strike leader in 1883. This obviously wasn't her speaking. We do find out later in the episode towards the end that whatever has taken over Madison has had many different life's , this is probably the same situation with Amy only it's not Marcus inside her , but someone else we don't know about yet. Also in the flashback , we see Amy acting strangely and saying "Amy is alright , because in the beginning there is always death" which just confirms that Amy has been taken over by something. That same line also was written down on the note that Madison and the girl from episode 1 had written. I wonder what it means , could it possibly mean that Amy is going to die and that the person inside her is going to take full control of her which would technically mean that Amy is dead as it would no longer be her. She also didn't even respond to Jack in the flashback , it was like she couldn't hear him. Maybe when the clock or anything reaches 9 the original person comes back because the person seems to change back to their normal state , for example we had Madison , who seemed confused as to where she was in the train station right after the clock reached nine. The number 9 is the biggest mystery for me , I am dying to find out what it means as it is literally everywhere in the show I hope they tell us soon or give us some insight into the origin of the number or why it is so important.
We later see Jack receive a phone call from someone saying "We know where you are , even if you find Amy she's gone" Whilst the phone call is taken place a man in black is watching Jack. How did they know where he is or what he looks like? I think what they mean by that phrase is , that it isn't Amy anymore , all that Amy was is now gone , and it is someone else in her body. After having a brief discussion about Amy (Jack and Cab man George) in a bar , they set off to try and locate her. They go to the last place George saw her. The mystery in this show gets deeper and deeper the more the story progresses , it get's much darker and more creepier. We find out that George dropped Amy off at work which is strange as she didn't actually go into work as Jack visited her work earlier in the episode or was her "boss" lying to Jack and she was in fact there as all the workers seemed pretty nervous when Jack was talking about Amy and wanted him out the building quickly. The last we see of Jack and George they are outside a condo where they believe Amy has stayed at. Her boss is in this building as well. Two thugs or the "men in black" approach them and start to fight them , this was a great scene as it shows how capable Jack is and that he can fight his way out of something, the same can't be said for George who got beaten the crap out of. After completely owning them , they start to back up , one pulls a gun and the other says "no she said no" could this person be Amy? Could she have ordered them men to attack Jack? If so Why?
Summary
Whilst not as good as episode 1 the show's mystery is getting deeper and deeper as it progresses. You keep finding yourself getting more questions with few answers in return. It's a little frustrating watching it with minimal knowledge of what is going on , I only have a vague idea of what seems to be happening. I only hope they answer some questions soon before the show becomes too confusing to even bare to watch.
