So Gabriel is another villain that gives himself up/allows himself to get caught because of his evil plan? We've had so many of these, with Loki from The Avengers and Silva from Skyfall being the latest. I wonder what he's up to...
Can't wait for Michael's reaction's to Becca's experiments- poor Louis! He's really having a crappy time lately.
Unless someone interrupts the wedding, looks like Claire and William are tying the knot (no white for weddings anymore?). I wonder if they'll keep them married or kill off William to get him out of the way of Alex/Claire (I hope not, I like him, he's crazy and earnest in his beliefs/version of tough love). And I wonder what David's mental state is...
No doubt being captured is the easiest way for Gabriel to get into Vega. In one of the promos we see a couple of the guards pointing their guns on 2 other guards near Gabriel's prison. Part of William's crew, I presume.
Michael's about to feel very betrayed. Catching Becca right in the act of doing science experiments on an angel (even if it's for the good of the people, I think it's wrong keeping an angel in that state) and apparently Alex is going to go to the council about his lying (hence the throwing Alex into a fruit cart part).
LOL, as long as Michael and Alex know what the plan is, because I'm not sure. Staging a big fight, Michael leaving and Alex goes to see Gabriel, making Gabriel think his plan succeeded? The sneak peek implies Alex is supposed to try and kill Gabriel, but who knows if that didn't change or if Alex had a change of heart/Gabriel has something up his sleeve to get the Chosen One on his side.
LOL, the fact that it's unpredictable makes the show so much fun, they have some good twists and turns, I can't wait for the finale (though I somewhat dread it) .
Usually I am right for a few predictions (like Noma being an angel) but the spoilers for the finale are really confusing. It is quite tough to predict for this show.
The only reason I predicted Noma was an angel was the way Arika said she had a secret. And at the time I wondered if Noma had healed Michael (everyone said it looked like a male figure, but to me Michael's mystery healer looked like a woman in casual dark army clothes - not the uniform). But then if Noma had healed Michael why did he not guess that and where'd she get the healing feather?
I saw a few people predicted Noma being an Angel, but I didn't think of it. I thought the person healing Michael looked like William (build/clothes) and he got the feather from Gabriel and was handling it with his gloves for a reason. Why hasn't Michael wondered about how he healed? Or did he guess Gabriel somehow healed him?
A lot of questions, I'm sure not all of them will get answered.
Ha. Yikes. Yeah, I'm really nervous about what he'll do in reaction to everything that's happened.
And Becca's kind of a hypocrite for calling Michael out on lying about angels in the city then turning around and studying a neutral angel that way. How is that any better?
I'm less nervous and more eager to see Michael's reaction- he's so stoic most of the time, I want to see him REALLY angry and go to town on them.
Yup, Becca's been keeping her own secrets and even if she's doing it all for the protection of Vega, Michael is doing what he thinks is right for the protection of mankind, so she has no moral ground to stand on. But she's human and he's an Angel and I think that's part of it, he's a different species, even if he looks like them and Becca is looking out for her own and doesn't care about Angels as much as humans.
I mean, I get where Becca is coming from- Felicia was supposed to be a neutral and was on Gabriel's side, plus Gabriel could use Higher Angels like puppets. It reminds me a bit of X-Men- should all Mutants be monitored, because some of them are dangerous and powerful and evil?
Ha I get what you mean about wanting to see him angry. Kinda really hot. lol But I'm worried about it going too far.
I kind of get Becca's side too, but she loves Michael. If I loved him like that I wouldn't sneak around examining another live angel like that. Dead ones fine.
The angels aren't all bad and I think it's wrong to keep a living one like that not even considering Michael. They're not lab rats (I don't even like the idea of lab rat use in real life).
And the people don't know what Gabe can do. Michael surely would have forced the higher ups to leave when it was safe to after he found out Gabriel could possess them.
Well yeah, I don't want Michael to wipe out Vega, but destroying the lab and all the research, angrily confronting Becca or maybe deciding to ditch Vega and leave them to their fate? I'd be ok with that.
I think Becca (in her mind) is "he's not like the others" and don't forget he's the only Angel on mankind's side for the past 25 years, the rest are either neutral or enemies. I'm sure as a scientist she can rationalize it, but yeah, she went too far with experimenting on a living Angel.
I think Ethan's reaction is pretty realistic- Angels aren't people, they might consider Michael an exception, but for the most part, Angels are dangerous and are out to kill mankind, they're "not like us" and it's also some good old racism.
David doesn't trust Michael, other than Becca and Alex (and maybe Riesen) nobody really knows Michael that well and he's fighting his own kind, I'm sure a lot of people in Vega are wondering if there won't come a time when he changes his allegiance or wonder about his motives. The minute they learn that Michael knew about the Higher Angels and kept it a secret, they'll see it as a betrayal and risking their lives. What if Michael couldn't control them? As David said, "we're the Angels' natural enemy and it won't end until we're extinct or they are", I think that's a mentality of a lot of people in Vega, it's us or them, everyone of them who isn't Michael is a potential threat and even Michael may not be trust-worthy.
When Ethan said that the word racism ran through my head immediately.
But I could understand it since his only knowledge of angels is them attacking humans and Michael - who is on humanity's side but not very personable to anyone who doesn't spend a lot of time with him.
Oh I'm biased as hell, I'm all in favor of them destroying Vega, having Alex and Michael on the road and focusing mostly on the Angels, LOL. I'm not sure what they're doing with Becca's character, it's kinda weird. I don't feel like it's OOC for her, but I don't feel like I know her well enough to feel betrayed by her or know what to expect. Other than sleeping with Michael and not being aligned with David, we know so little about her, I feel like she has potential, but if they killed her off in the finale, I wouldn't bat an eye.
Yeah, it feel like racism, but I get it- other than Michael, all the Angels they meet are trying to kill them (they didn't know about the Higher Angels till now) and now a lot of them are feeling betrayed that people they knew and trusted lied to them this whole time and weren't who/what they thought they were. Michael is aloof, despite protecting and loving humanity, he doesn't seem to understand it very much and he keeps things to himself, which doesn't help people with their trust issues. And some people like David don't trust Michael at all, despite him spending the last 25 years protecting mankind and living among them. And there's what he said about people's reaction to the knowledge that Becca slept with Michael, so even though he has his own corp and can show up in the Senate, he's not exactly a citizen and there's still taboo about sleeping with him, because he's not human/one of THEM.
Yeah, exactly on the racism but getting it part. As I said, the people really don't have the exposure they'd need to see otherwise. And this is war and people are just trying to survive.
We may not know Becca well, but I still really liked her and would be upset if she dies. Alex, Michael, Claire, and Becca are the only deaths I'd get upset over, though I like some other characters as well (some in a love to hate way).
I like the Alex and Michael on the road idea! It could be possible, couldn't it? After all, next season the creator promised to explore other cities.
Yeah, it feels pretty realistic with how people would react to Angels, if the only exposure to them they got was 8-balls and Higher Angels that tried to kill them. They're just trying to survive and other than Michael, there are no friendlies- even the neutral ones could be working for Gabriel/change sides.
I feel like I COULD like Becca, if I knew more about her. She has potential as a character, I'm even ok with her being a morally ambiguous scientist, I just need to understand her better in order to like her and I need for her to be developed more for me to care if she dies. Right now the only deaths I'd be upset about are Michael, Gabriel, Uriel and William, obviously Alex and Claire aren't going anywhere, but I can take or leave them, Riesen and Becca I sort of like, but don't know too well. David could definitely die. Oh and I like Noma, she has a lot of potential as well.
LOL, I would definitely love Michael and Alex to leave Vega, maybe see some of Helena or Delphi or hell, have them go to Europe for some reason- Michael can fly them. Let's spread out a bit from Vega, there's limited story to tell there and it's mostly political shenanigans. I want to focus more on the Archangels and their history/dynamic.
Yeah, the political drama is definitely the least interesting aspect. I'm all in favor of Claire ruling Vega, Arika ruling Helena and Michael and Alex on the road, giving us a lot of different storyline options (as well as Gabriel, who in between attempts at annihilate mankind, is in search of the perfect pudding and annoying his brother).
David is such a one-note villain, Riesen is a more well rounded character and if we're talking villains, both Gabriel and William are more interesting and complex. I feel like David's longevity is dependent on AH and whether he wanted to sign on for more than one season.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Great photos as always. So hope we get a 2nd season
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting!

Yeah, because of the sneak peek, I also think it could be a set up. If so, what the plan is I would have no idea.

ReplyDeleteIt's so hard to say right now. Everything I predict for one scene contradicts another.

Michael's expression says it all in that pic of him looking at the angel. Shock/anger.
ReplyDeleteYup, his expression says 'a flood is coming'

Cool pics, can't wait to see it. I'll be so disappointed if this is the last episode we ever get :(

Better not be! Worst way to end ever.

Ha, I see that side. Just a little biased here.

I'm not big on the political stuff too. Hooked on Alex and angel (especially Michael of course) scenes. ha
