Kinda sad and a douchey move from Walters side if he doesen't return. Just because Moira is dead he still IS Olivers and Theas stepdad. He seemed to genuinely care for both :(
Well no, he's not. They divorced. But it does seem odd. Probably to help facilitate the Ray Palmer possible takeover story. I doubt the character just stopped caring.
I know, I don't get why are you assuming he doesn't care anymore? He could and I hope he will, but I doubt the writer's would just ignore him or write him out half-assedly given his position at Starling's National Bank and his helping Oliver retain control last season. If he doesn't return it'll obviously be for a very good reason.
bummer as I liked the Walter character, although with the new additions to the cast and plotlines I don't see much for him to do since he's no longer attached to the company or the late Moira, but perhaps he'll make a pop in or at least be mentioned later on
Well there goes my Walter helping Oliver getting back Thea theory. Why Colin why? Walter/Thea was my favorite father daughter relationship in the show. I am disappointed. But I can understand. Colin Salmon is a bit too talented for a small role like Walter.
No, I was just telling someone that I hope Walter would come back this season, to help bring Thea back from the dark side. He still has a relationship with Thea and Oliver, even if Moira is dead, I need more Walter, Colin!
Ohhh, that's not cool!!! Me no likey!! I like Walter. I was hoping to see him again this season, but i could see why he wouldn't return. Geez at least give us a flashback of his departure. Sigh.
There's so much untapped potential for Walter's character. He could've done so much and helped Team Arrow through financial matters as well as Thea by being her normal father figure. I find all of this ridiculous because Walter would never leave Moira's family behind because they're like his family too. Ugh
and here I was hoping we would get to see more of him. On the first epsiodes of S1 I had the impression that there was more backstory planed for him....
I think this is solely actor's decision and not the producers. Walter could have done so much for the show. Colin Salmon is a very talented actor. I think he is getting more opportunities and Walter is such a minor character. With Susanna Thompson gone it is a bitter pill to chew that Colin Salmon will not be there. Both great actors. Thank God for Paul Blackthorne and John Barrowman.
It could've been an interesting battle for Thea's soul between her two father figures, good Walter and evil Merlyn. (Well, Robert was her father figure too but he's dead.) I hope the stars align later down the road and he does end up coming back.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Sad no Moira no Walter :(

ReplyDeleteAww I liked Walter.
ReplyDeleteon a mental level he did take that father position for Thea, you can't walk away once you build that connection :(
ReplyDeleteHe could be part of the sollution to get Thea back from Malcolm
I liked Walter's stable presence in the mist of all the mayhem. A shame.

ReplyDeleteLet's not forgot he played a general for the US military on 24:LAD
ReplyDeleteAww! I liked Walter and I hoped that with Moira dead he would be back to help Oliver and Thea, he was after all a father figure to Thea...
ReplyDeleteWhose character also pretty much up and left in the middle of the plot. Ha! :)
ReplyDeletehe may be gone, but they can easily mention him, and still make it appear hes still in there lives.
ReplyDeleteWalter was agret character i hope he would stick around a little bit more.

ReplyDeleteNoooooo, I love Walter! He's possibly the only character I have never wanted to smack upside the head at any point :(

ReplyDeleteWHY?!!! That's a shame I really liked Walter and was hoping he could help Oliver get the company back.
ReplyDeleteI just wish the show gave his character more importance. He could've really been a pivotal character! But you're right. PB and JB are godsends!
