There are so many good moments in tvd that it's hard to choose. I love a scene in season 3 when Klaus goes mad and throws things to Elena's house because he wants to kidnap her and take her. I laugh a lot!!!
Alaric dying then becoming evil, Annabel reuniting with her mother on the other side and Klaus telling Stefan to ''TURN IT OFF!" his humanity. Just on the S3 final will add more as I go.
For me, even though I am a big Delena shipper, I really liked the scene right before Elena and Stefan made love for the first time. She said something to him about how he wasn't a monster and she accepted him as he was, and it was really sweet.
Eh..."Caroline making out with Klaus" ? If that is what fans consider the best moment in TVD history I know why this show went down the drain, because the fans asked for it.
1. Elijah slapping Trevors head off his shoulders, he made it seem like he was about to forgive him and then..BAAAM. Best.villain.ever 2. The Katherine/John conversation in the season 1 finale. The writers tricked us well into thinking that it was Elena. 3. "Hello fingers, goodbye fingers", as much as I disliked season 5 that scene perfectly reflected the shows original premise "what goes around, comes around" 4. Alarics death, the way he talked to Jeremy and the slow realization that he died...wonderfull 5. Elena burning down the house, Nina Dobrevi is without a doubt TVDs best actress, sadly she got demoted to 'Damons love interest' too much as of late. The acting, the consequence. All too good to be true for TVD, sure the writers had to destroy every impact this scene had by bringing Jeremy back to life but I like to pretend that everything after 4*20 never happened 6. Damon luring Caroline towards his cell in season 1, this show has become a teen soap but back in season 1 they still had some pretty badass vampiric sequences. 7. Alaric staking Klaus. That could have been TVDs biggest moment ever BUT they had to treat death like a side arc again and bring Klaus back 8. Elijahs ressurection towards the end of season 2. The way they mixed his flashbacks to Katherine and his awakening kind of led us to like the once creepy vampire and fleshed his character out more 9. Tylers first transformation. Let's face it, this scene showed what vampirism and lycantrophy should be on this show: a curse not a blessing (sadly this was destroyed as well) 10. Alaric killing Logan, why? Because his death is one of the few that actually STUCK
I have to say it was the epic fight between Elena and Katherine. "Have a nice human life, Katherine." That was a classic line if I've ever heard one. If only Katherine's inability to rip Elena's heart out, and Elena's sudden strength over a 500-year-old vampire, could have been expanded upon. I begged Julie Plec, not incessantly of course, to make Elena a new type of hybrid to make this and some other anomalies more interesting and consistent. It was disappointing that Elena could take Katherine but not Enzo.
I hope Enzo's story reveals that he lost time in that lab and he's much older than he thinks. Tyler said, "Hybrid beats really old vampire, every time," even though he could barely take Nadia. I really hope there turns out to be something to all of this, and I think more can and should be added to Enzo's story besides the tragic loss of someone he loved decades ago.
Damon and Bonnie in the white light was a close second as far as favorite scenes. That entire scene was so beautiful. Can anyone tell me the full name of the guy named Chris who chooses the great music? I heard that he posts the songs he uses on Twitter.
Nice list, agree with pretty much all of it though I am about to start S4. I would add the entire final act of the S3 final to that list.
The only thing I don't agree with is Nina Dobrev being the best actress on the show, which she is far from. I'd say that Kat is probably the best young cast member the show has followed by Claire Holt and Ian and Pual tide for best young male actor.
The best moment is yet to come, but I'm sure it'll the moment this show ends. Sarcasm aside, I was absolutely GUTTED by Alaric and Damon's goodbyes in Season 3.
After season 2 the show has gone downhill for me, I liked Damon as a bad ass vampire, not some whipped puppy following Elena around. From the choices listed I pick Kat cutting off John's fingers.

Ofcourse you would think the klaroline scene or hookup is what brought the show down because you are a delena fas. Which when I go back to the ratings board, delena is the reason ratings of tvd is beyond pathetic. Stick to your delena or choice and vote and stop saying negative stuff about klaroline. Klaroline is not about sex or sirebond. It's a gradual process although I'm still mad julie gave them sex and pushed them away which the fans proved to her, kc is far better than that.
katherine's entry at the end of season 1 and the sacrifice down with jenna and john dying and john's letter to elena in 2.21-these two were outstanding moment of the series IMO!!
i believe the one posted it told me season 5 was his/her best season after season 1,so i wouldn't be too surprised with this choices.The best 2 seasons options are missing.
Season 5 was not my favourite season after season 1, and I didn´t only put my favourites I put moments that I remembered and that I thought people would like the most, I forgot the sacrifice of season 2and a only a few more. My favourites seasons are 2,4,3,5,1.
Why on earth would you (almost) only pick scenes from the two worst seasons in the history of TVD? The show was great when it was a show about supernatural creatures, instead of some boring ass vampire and her boring ass homocidal boyfriend. Shipping wars destroyed the story. (Or should I say Caroline Dries destroyed it. Her Damon-obsession is distrubing and her going against canon all the time is, too. Has she ever even watched an episode or does she not care about the plotholes she creates with every new sentence she writes?)

I couldn´t think of any highlights of season 1 apart from the finale, maybe when bonnie and her grandmother open the tomb, and from season 2 I forgot the sacrifice and maybe when they capture Kat. This poll is about OMFG moments, not some puntual ones that you might like, at least, I made it with that intention.

Yeah, it´s pathetic, everyone is different and prefer some moments more than others. And it all comes down to shipping wars, you either love Klaroline, Delena or Stelena or you hate it to death and you insult everybody and wish the show to be cancelled :P
You should see the comments like-i've completely given up on this show or this show has jumped the shark.I 'm like-if you're so over this show,why are you so curious to comment and whine about a show you supposedly no longer care for the show.I mean,i love this show to death but the constant bickering about a show you've lost interest in,is really getting tiresome.
I´m sure it´s to pick a fight with the ones that love the show, I ignore those comments, well, most of the time, if someone´s comments annoys me a lot I respond, like when someone that has given up on the show since season 1 and starts compleining about the way it was the love triangle, for example, but that no longer is, because there is no love triangle anymore. It pisses me off a bit :P If you no longer watch the show then forget about and leave the people who still watch it alone.
exactly my point.It is not a love triangle anymore.Stelena is done for and delena is endgame.I was a hardcore stelena fan myself in earlier seasons and then i grew to like delena too.I would be delutional to not see delena has far more chemistry than stelena.As for stefan,i want him to find a new love in his life,that would be good for him i think.Elena and stefan should stay good friends although.Anyway,can't wait for TVD comic-con panel.Don't you think it is odd that only 4 cast members of TVD are participating whereas TO had 9 members!!What's up with that?Scheduling conflict or something else?
Klaus is my favorite, so I voted for the moment between Caroline and Klaus that we had all been waiting for. I would love to see Caroline drop my New O. No need for Klaus to go back, TVD has lost all appeal to me and there is no one left that I care about. Except Caroline, maybe....
The reveal that each "Original Vampire" is the source to their own bloodline of vampires, ergo if the "Original Vampire" dies then a entire line of vampires dies with them ie: if Niklaus dies then all the vampires originating (Damon, Stefan, and Caroline etc.) from his blood will die with too. BECAUSE DIARIES ARE 4 READING, I am Nobody!!!
Actually she wrote one of the best episode of the series-the sun also rises(2.21).I don't know what happened in the later seasons,she became obsessed with damon like a fangirl and started fan-servicing which led to the inevitable downfall of the quality.Hope with this season,they buckle up in their story telling what with damon and bonnie's mysterious dying and stelena being over once and for all!
delusional, the triangle is never over. I was never really a Stelena fan but I am a Stefan fan and the triangle has completely destroyed his character and still is. I can't stand Stefan and Elena as friends. its the resolution of the triangle thats the problem, Stefan should either be in love with Elena or really really hate her, anything inbetween makes me lose all respect for the character after 5 seasons of Elena being his sole reason for being.
so exes cannot be friendly in your opinion.I don't think so as i'm friend with mine and we parted amicably and keep in touch with each other without feeling any one those extreme emotions that you mentioned-love or hatred.As far as stefan is concerned,he has had his fare share of problems to deal with these past seasons other than worrying about elena.So,we'll agree to disagree.I guess,to each their own.And With steroline coming our way in season 6,stelena is not possible at this very moment.What happens in the future,i cannot say.I'm just saying-to me stelena is over as of now.

Dramatic-sure.Melodrama-nope.It certainly suggests that your and my definition of Drama are significantly different.The actions that made you lose respect for the character stefan,increased my respect for this character.He is hopelessly in love with elena still cannot put her wishes above his own inspite of knowing what is better for him.He has always been selfless and still is.If that's not a sign of a big heart,i don't know what is-letting go of the love of your life coz you know deep down,he/she will be truly happy with someone else,even if that someone is your own brother-if that's not drama,i don't know what is.Everyone has different opinions,so do you and i.
I'd say that that moment happening, period, is a sigh that the show needs to be cancelled. Gotta love it when a female character throws all morals out of the window because OMG, hot bad boy alert!
How is klaroline worse, give me reasons. Like I can say delena is worse cus damon stole his brothers gf from him and also he abuse and compell women to love him. On the other hand, klaus knows caroline don't love him like she does for tyler, but klaus made her aware of his true feelings and told her she can come to him to experience a better world if she decides to give him the chance. That's how u treat a woman you love. Not go rampant killing whenever she breaks up with you or tell you something hurtful. Klaroline and stelena are the only ships that made sense on tvd. Julie just messed it all up putting all attention on delena sex when true and real love is just sitting there waiting for her look at it again
The best moment of all time. Wow!! There's a lot. Idk, i didn't even go with my OTP on this, i was going for something MORE SERIOUS NOT ROMANTIC RELATED. And really Klaroline had the BEST MOMENT OF ALL TIME?? Seriously guys?? Ugh...w/e that poll is, idec. Anyways.....I voted for Elena dying and becoming a vampire. I mean we ALL KNEW it was going to happen. But the way that they did the entire ending, flashing from past to present, then her waking up on the slab, with the music playing in the background...I thought that was BEAUTIFULLY done.
Another choice would be, Alaric's death, and when Katherine returned for the first time in the finale. That reveal was one of the best.
IF i had to go with romantic POV, I'd say when Damon revealed he loved Elena for the first time giving her back her necklace. Then of course following that up with Elena remembering that moment after her transition.
Katherine cutting off John's fingers, by a mile. Other - pretty much every other scene involving Katherine.
I'm usually not one to criticize the options in other people's polls, but it makes no sense to include next to nothing from the first 3 seasons of a show that's had 5 in a "best moments" poll. Especially when the earlier seasons are widely agreed to be better.
I don't give a damn about delena and I'm fan of Klaus and Caroline as individuals. Also I don't hate Caroline and Klaus moment as long as they make SENSE.
I love Klaus and Caroline and i'd say there are far better moments between these two that would be a better option than this let's-have-sex-to-get-each-other-off-our-system...moments that are in the earlier seasons of tvd when everything else is "organic" (accdg to Julie Plec)
i loved that seen vry much when klaus compeled stefen to turn off his humanity n to feed on elena n then stefen push klaus n fight with his compulsion ..the best seen of mine ...3*5 n when in 1*11 when stefen told about when he saved her when she was child ...... n in 3*1 hen stefen called her n remain silent the epic love off them was wonderful stelena n klaroline was the most wonderfull couplegursev
It's disheartening to see how the 5x11 scene with Klaroline is being described here. If anything, Caroline's confession was the highlight of that moment.
It's so hard to choose.. i can't decide!! But i really really loved the Scene where Elena turned off her Humanity and then the one where she turned it back because of Ninas brilliant acting!
Klaus bit Caroline and almost let her die .. Not to mention that he used the sirebond with Tyler to get him to bite her .. He also threaten to kill Tyler (who was Carolines boyfriend at the time) even after she begged him to show mercy. Oh and he Carol (and Jenna.. but that was before he knew Caroline).. who was also kind of important to Caroline. Is that how you treat a woman you love? i don't think so ..
Elena was angry as hell at Katherine .. She hated her for killing her brother. And that kind of hate and rage can make you incredible strong. So i kind of get the fact that she was able to beat a 500-year old Vampire. And when Elena tried to take out Enzo her hands where tied up so of course it was more difficult for her
I have to say i agree with EVERYTHING you are saying!! I still love the show and i don't understand why some people say it has jumped the shark or that they are annoyed by the love triangle. Like you said .. at the moment it doesn't even exist!! Stefan and Elena loved eachother but just like in real life sometimes people just grow apart but they are still important to eachother. I ship Delena from the beginning but i also kind of shipped Stelena because they were cute and their love was real but it's over and I love them as friends! And besides.. in my opinion the S5 finale screamed "Delena is Endgame" louder than ever
Season 2 was the best of the series, and should be the star of this poll, but it's not even mentioned! I'm not on board with notion that the romance in this show should take centre stage either?
In no particular order of importance: 1. Klaus slaughtering his hybrids & then murdering Tyler's mother 2. Caroline's revelation to her mother that she was a vampire, 3. Katherine's fantastic goodbye -- I agree with the poll here! 4. Katherine cutting off John's fingers -- again!
5. Caroline kicking Damon down the hall after transition 6. My one romantic moment -- Elena telling Stefan that she doesn't want to become a vampire in order to avoid becoming Klaus' blood bag. Such a badass decision. 7. The revelation that the Sun & Moon curse was a myth created by Klaus. 8. The final battle in season 2 to kill Klaus. 9. Jenna stabbing herself under compulsion in season 1. 10. Elena discovers Stefan's list of victims, the rest of that scene.
Bonus: Matt Davis' performance of Alaric-as-Klaus. In a show has had quite a few actors play multiple people, this performance was by far the best.
I'm surprised you think that Kat is the best... (I don't "think you're wrong", I just have a different interpretation). I recall Kat impressing me in only a a couple of scenes, which isn't to say that I think she's bad, I just don't think she's been given enough good material to be judged equally beside the rest.
Of the characters that are currently on the show, I'd rank Matt Davis first, probably followed by Paul and then Candice. I don't know who I'd rank next, but as poor as season 5 was, it kind of shocked me when I realized that Zach Roerig has started to become very good. Definitely the most improved in the cast (for me), which goes to show how giving actors actual storylines and things to do can be a huge opportunity for them to up their game.

God the amount of Klaroline haters. Just because the majority have an opinion different from yours doesn't make it wrong. So yes, the majority of people who have voted in this poll think the Klaroline kiss in 5x11 was the best moment of TVD. You don't have to agree with it, you just have to accept that it's what the majority thinks.

You have a point about the Klaus and Caroline stuff. There has to be a way for JP to make fans let that go without losing fans.

ReplyDeleteI couldn´t think of any highlights of season 1 apart from the finale, maybe when bonnie and her grandmother open the tomb, and from season 2 I forgot the sacrifice and maybe when they capture Kat. This poll is about OMFG moments, not some puntual ones that you might like, at least, I made it with that intention.
ReplyDeleteit's okay.It's a harmless and fun poll and should be dealt with as such.It's just that regarding this show,everyone is a critic of their own.Anything they don't prefer,here comes the bashing like hoping for cancellation-reason-they didn't like some options!!
ReplyDeleteYeah, it´s pathetic, everyone is different and prefer some moments more than others. And it all comes down to shipping wars, you either love Klaroline, Delena or Stelena or you hate it to death and you insult everybody and wish the show to be cancelled :P

ReplyDeleteI´m sure it´s to pick a fight with the ones that love the show, I ignore those comments, well, most of the time, if someone´s comments annoys me a lot I respond, like when someone that has given up on the show since season 1 and starts compleining about the way it was the love triangle, for example, but that no longer is, because there is no love triangle anymore. It pisses me off a bit :P If you no longer watch the show then forget about and leave the people who still watch it alone.
ReplyDeleteexactly my point.It is not a love triangle anymore.Stelena is done for and delena is endgame.I was a hardcore stelena fan myself in earlier seasons and then i grew to like delena too.I would be delutional to not see delena has far more chemistry than stelena.As for stefan,i want him to find a new love in his life,that would be good for him i think.Elena and stefan should stay good friends although.Anyway,can't wait for TVD comic-con panel.Don't you think it is odd that only 4 cast members of TVD are participating whereas TO had 9 members!!What's up with that?Scheduling conflict or something else?

ReplyDeleteThe reveal that each "Original Vampire" is the source to their own bloodline of vampires, ergo if the "Original Vampire" dies then a entire line of vampires dies with them ie: if Niklaus dies then all the vampires originating (Damon, Stefan, and Caroline etc.) from his blood will die with too. BECAUSE DIARIES ARE 4 READING, I am Nobody!!!
ReplyDeleteActually she wrote one of the best episode of the series-the sun also rises(2.21).I don't know what happened in the later seasons,she became obsessed with damon like a fangirl and started fan-servicing which led to the inevitable downfall of the quality.Hope with this season,they buckle up in their story telling what with damon and bonnie's mysterious dying and stelena being over once and for all!

ReplyDeleteI was never really a Stelena fan but I am a Stefan fan and the triangle has completely destroyed his character and still is. I can't stand Stefan and Elena as friends. its the resolution of the triangle thats the problem, Stefan should either be in love with Elena or really really hate her, anything inbetween makes me lose all respect for the character after 5 seasons of Elena being his sole reason for being.
so exes cannot be friendly in your opinion.I don't think so as i'm friend with mine and we parted amicably and keep in touch with each other without feeling any one those extreme emotions that you mentioned-love or hatred.As far as stefan is concerned,he has had his fare share of problems to deal with these past seasons other than worrying about elena.So,we'll agree to disagree.I guess,to each their own.And With steroline coming our way in season 6,stelena is not possible at this very moment.What happens in the future,i cannot say.I'm just saying-to me stelena is over as of now.

ReplyDeleteDramatic-sure.Melodrama-nope.It certainly suggests that your and my definition of Drama are significantly different.The actions that made you lose respect for the character stefan,increased my respect for this character.He is hopelessly in love with elena still cannot put her wishes above his own inspite of knowing what is better for him.He has always been selfless and still is.If that's not a sign of a big heart,i don't know what is-letting go of the love of your life coz you know deep down,he/she will be truly happy with someone else,even if that someone is your own brother-if that's not drama,i don't know what is.Everyone has different opinions,so do you and i.

ReplyDeleteHow is klaroline worse, give me reasons. Like I can say delena is worse cus damon stole his brothers gf from him and also he abuse and compell women to love him. On the other hand, klaus knows caroline don't love him like she does for tyler, but klaus made her aware of his true feelings and told her she can come to him to experience a better world if she decides to give him the chance. That's how u treat a woman you love. Not go rampant killing whenever she breaks up with you or tell you something hurtful. Klaroline and stelena are the only ships that made sense on tvd. Julie just messed it all up putting all attention on delena sex when true and real love is just sitting there waiting for her look at it again

And really Klaroline had the BEST MOMENT OF ALL TIME?? Seriously guys?? Ugh...w/e that poll is, idec. Anyways.....I voted for Elena dying and becoming a vampire. I mean we ALL KNEW it was going to happen. But the way that they did the entire ending, flashing from past to present, then her waking up on the slab, with the music playing in the background...I thought that was BEAUTIFULLY done.
ReplyDeleteAnother choice would be, Alaric's death, and when Katherine returned for the first time in the finale. That reveal was one of the best.
IF i had to go with romantic POV, I'd say when Damon revealed he loved Elena for the first time giving her back her necklace. Then of course following that up with Elena remembering that moment after her transition.

ReplyDeleteI'm usually not one to criticize the options in other people's polls, but it makes no sense to include next to nothing from the first 3 seasons of a show that's had 5 in a "best moments" poll. Especially when the earlier seasons are widely agreed to be better.
I don't give a damn about delena and I'm fan of Klaus and Caroline as individuals. Also I don't hate Caroline and Klaus moment as long as they make SENSE.

It's disheartening to see how the 5x11 scene with Klaroline is being described here. If anything, Caroline's confession was the highlight of that moment.

He also threaten to kill Tyler (who was Carolines boyfriend at the time) even after she begged him to show mercy. Oh and he Carol (and Jenna.. but that was before he knew Caroline).. who was also kind of important to Caroline. Is that how you treat a woman you love? i don't think so ..

So i kind of get the fact that she was able to beat a 500-year old Vampire. And when Elena tried to take out Enzo her hands where tied up so of course it was more difficult for her

I still love the show and i don't understand why some people say it has jumped the shark or that they are annoyed by the love triangle. Like you said .. at the moment it doesn't even exist!! Stefan and Elena loved eachother but just like in real life sometimes people just grow apart but they are still important to eachother. I ship Delena from the beginning but i also kind of shipped Stelena because they were cute and their love was real but it's over and I love them as friends! And besides.. in my opinion the S5 finale screamed "Delena is Endgame" louder than ever
ReplyDeleteSeason 2 was the best of the series, and should be the star of this poll, but it's not even mentioned! I'm not on board with notion that the romance in this show should take centre stage either?

1. Klaus slaughtering his hybrids & then murdering Tyler's mother
2. Caroline's revelation to her mother that she was a vampire,
3. Katherine's fantastic goodbye -- I agree with the poll here!
4. Katherine cutting off John's fingers -- again!
5. Caroline kicking Damon down the hall after transition
6. My one romantic moment -- Elena telling Stefan that she doesn't want to become a vampire in order to avoid becoming Klaus' blood bag. Such a badass decision.
7. The revelation that the Sun & Moon curse was a myth created by Klaus.
8. The final battle in season 2 to kill Klaus.
9. Jenna stabbing herself under compulsion in season 1.
10. Elena discovers Stefan's list of victims, the rest of that scene.
Bonus: Matt Davis' performance of Alaric-as-Klaus. In a show has had quite a few actors play multiple people, this performance was by far the best.
I'm surprised you think that Kat is the best... (I don't "think you're wrong", I just have a different interpretation).
ReplyDeleteI recall Kat impressing me in only a a couple of scenes, which isn't to say that I think she's bad, I just don't think she's been given enough good material to be judged equally beside the rest.
Of the characters that are currently on the show, I'd rank Matt Davis first, probably followed by Paul and then Candice. I don't know who I'd rank next, but as poor as season 5 was, it kind of shocked me when I realized that Zach Roerig has started to become very good. Definitely the most improved in the cast (for me), which goes to show how giving actors actual storylines and things to do can be a huge opportunity for them to up their game.

So yes, the majority of people who have voted in this poll think the Klaroline kiss in 5x11 was the best moment of TVD. You don't have to agree with it, you just have to accept that it's what the majority thinks.
