wo U.S. dramas shooting in Israel are exploring their contingency options given the region's current turmoil. FX's Tyrant, which is shooting in Tel Aviv, has temporarily relocated to Turkey, while USA's Dig, which shoots in Jerusalem, has been on a previously scheduled hiatus for the past week. That break will now continue for a few more days.
The hope inside both productions is to resume production in Israel after tensions quiet down. Dig is set to present a panel at the TV Critics Association press tour Monday, where producers will elaborate on what's next for the show. Insiders say backup plans have been mapped out in case the show can't return to Jerusalem.

Probably best not to shoot in Tel Aviv, there was actual damage from the shrapnel of a rocket, but Jerusalem? We get a siren every few days, so far no actual rocket or damage. That being said- yeah, probably best to stop filming here for now.
ReplyDeleteFans of Strike Back claim that Cape Town, South Africa and the surrounding areas do a nice job of passing for several Middle Eastern countries, and that is where Homeland is filming season 4.
ReplyDeleteIs one of these the places where that guy's face was blown off that's been circulating around the web?
ReplyDeleteBummer to be sure, but I'd rather everyone be safe and sorry. Rockets, kidnapping murders, and drones sounds like a good reason to take a break for me!
ReplyDeleteI never realized you are from/located in Israel, IvyB! Please take care. Hope the violence stops soon.
ReplyDeleteYeah, born and raised in Israel. Thanks for your well wishes, I hope it gets quiet here again soon, beyond that I don't have much to hope for between a terrorist organization and our current government, they're not going to reach a peace agreement any time soon. *shrugs*
ReplyDeleteMe too IvyB :) just not from Jerusalem. Hi there.
ReplyDeleteHi! Where are you from?
ReplyDeleteThe not so lovely north :)
ReplyDeleteLiar, the north is very lovely and beautiful. :)
ReplyDeleteMore beautiful when you see it from far far away :D
ReplyDeleteCape town is a bit like the African Vancouver , it can be transformed into anything for a film . Dominion shoots there too, the show is set in futuristic Las Vegas. It doesn't look like Cape Town but since l've seen two actors on SA television I can relate , Norma and Gabriels actors were co stars on a south african show called Isidingo - the gold , their accents are pretty good.
