Penny has an interesting arc this year where she puts acting down," said co-creator and executive producer Chuck Lorre at the Television Critics Association's summer press tour. "She gets a shot to be a pharmaceutical rep at Bernadette's [Melissa Rauch] company."
As it turns out, the new gig will come with a nice paycheck that could create some friction with her husband-to-be, Leonard (Johnny Galecki).
"She's going to start making some money, which will unbalance their relationship as the power shifts," Lorre said of the storyline. "She's going to find some confidence and self-esteem, which acting does not provide in great heaping doses."

Finally.
ReplyDeleteGreat news!
ReplyDeleteFinally she gets a decent job, and it ONLY took seven seasons.
ReplyDeleteGreat news!
ReplyDeleteInteresting! I'm looking forward to see how this will change Penny's life, most likely for the better. It surely will have a repercussion on her personality, going from waitress/actress to pharmaceutical rep is a major change and the fact that she will have a good income is going to change the dynamics a lot. It's ought to be very interesting and it can be a move that generates great character development
ReplyDeleteDoes this mean the cast have thier contacts sorted then? Either way this sounds pretty funny!
ReplyDeleteSounds good! Looking forward to it. Penny with real mony should be hilarious.
ReplyDeleteNope, not yet.
ReplyDeleteThank god i was worried she remain a waitress on the show forever lol
ReplyDeleteI think she will be.
ReplyDeleteYeah I think she will. If Bernadette and Howard's money issue before is any indication.
ReplyDeleteMaybe if you look at CalTech salaries and with the years Leonard been there he could be making 100K or more at this point. So we'll see
ReplyDeleteI was just thinking going by the medium income for Penny since she is just starting, and going by Leonard long term stay at the Cal Tech Salary they would at least = out if not L be higher. either way it won't make much difference it will Probably a 1 episode issue and the end will fix it all. with some joke.
ReplyDeleteBut how many more seasons will it be before she gets a last name?
