GAME OF THRONES STAR MICHELLE FAIRLEY RETURNS TO TV IN A SEASON-LONG ARC ON ABC'S RESURRECTION
Internationally acclaimed actress Michelle Fairley, best known for her role as Catelyn Stark on HBO’s “Game of Thrones,” will return -- in more ways than one -- to network television this fall, in a season-long arc on ABC’s hit series, “Resurrection.” The second-season premiere of “Resurrection” will air SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 28 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET) on the network.
Fairley will recur as Margaret Langston, the formidable matriarch of the Langston clan. Mother of Henry and Fred (Kurtwood Smith, Matt Craven), and dead for over three decades, she will reappear in Arcadia as one of the returned. Margaret brings with her knowledge of the Langston family’s dark past, a past she is determined to keep hidden. Her return will have consequences for the entire family.
In addition to “Game of Thrones,” Fairley played international industrialist Ava Hessington on the USA series “Suits” and most recently starred in 2014 on a season-long arc as Margot Al-Harazi on “24 Live Another Day.”
“Resurrection” stars Omar Epps (“House”) as J. Martin Bellamy, Frances Fisher (“Titanic”) as Lucille Langston, Matt Craven (“Crimson Tide,” “A Few Good Men”) as Fred Langston, Devin Kelley (“Chernobyl Diaries,” “The Chicago Code”) as Maggie Langston, Mark Hildreth (“The Tudors”) as Pastor Tom Hale, Samaire Armstrong (“Entourage,” “The O.C.”) as Elaine Richards, Landon Gimenez as Jacob and Kurtwood Smith (“That '70s Show”) as Henry Langston.
“Resurrection” was developed by Aaron Zelman (“Damages,” “The Killing”), who is executive producer. Michele Fazekas & Tara Butters are executive producers. Christopher Misiano is executive producer/director. Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner are executive producers for Plan B and Jon Liebman is executive producer for Brillstein Entertainment. “Resurrection” is produced by ABC Studios.

She should be back in the Game of Thrones soon?
ReplyDeleteGiven how Michelle Fairley went out in GoT & 24, she surely need to be on a show called Resurrection.
ReplyDeleteAlso, can no one talk about Game of Thrones spoilers in anon-GoT threads, please?
Mmm interesting... And maybe dispointing for somme people (including me)... (No Spoils for the non book readers please)
ReplyDeleteI hope so and am hoping the dubunking everyone is trying to do means they plan a "surprise"...
ReplyDeleteYay I caught up with this after the season was over and I loved it. Frustratingly mysterious but I loved the characters so much I can't wait for season 2 of this. And season 2 of The Returned as well.
ReplyDeleteYes! Looking forward to having her on Resurrection.
ReplyDeleteYES! This is great news!
ReplyDeleteSo, she didn't return as Lady Stoneheart but she will return on some form, it would seem.
ReplyDeleteI agree. I don't get the criticism for this show. I thought it was really good and it's nice to have a tv show that focuses on family.
ReplyDeleteFor sure. For the most part my favorite shows are the supernatural/sci-fi ones that are way out of reality and super weird but I thought for a "grounded" fantasy this was excellent. It was surprisingly touching and several episodes managed to get to me emotionally, and I usually was more interested in how the regular people were going to act as a response than I was in the actual not-dead-anymore people and if you knew me you'd get an idea of how impressive I actually find that.:)
ReplyDeleteI am not convinced there will be no LS
ReplyDeleteSame here. All the shows I watch are fantasy/sci fi/superhero so it's weird that I ended up enjoying a show that despite having a fantasy element it focuses a lot more on relationships and regular lives. I agree that some episodes were really touching.
ReplyDeleteAlso I love that they found a way to give some answers without revealing the real mystery.
I mean, is this irony?
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I love her!
ReplyDeleteThere was only one thing that I didn't like about it, it's the end of the season.
ReplyDeleteTo me it was like the producers told themselves "Well, let's wrap this up real quick and we'll see how the ratings go"
And I would've loved having 13 episodes.
But beside that, I love it though at first I thought it would be a complete imitation of "The Returned/Les Revenants" but I was glad it wasn't.
Cannot wait to see both shows return!
Well I won't give GOT spoilers but I will say this only makes me worry more that GOT will NOT being following a story line that they really need to follow!
ReplyDeleteGreat news. Really great actress.
ReplyDeleteSo, no Lady Stoneheart :(
ReplyDeleteOh the irony...
ReplyDeleteAnother reason for me not to watch it, I could stand her in GOT cause it's a hell of a show but here... not so much.
