  1. I wish de-aged Derek had lasted longer, but I loved Migel's return. And God, Kate is creepy and that confirms she had sex with him while he was underage. Gross.

Whoa at 117 million being stolen from Peter. Did not expect that at all. And I love that everyone just took off when the Beserkers showed up.

    Great episode!

  2. Great episode

  3. De-aged Derek grew on me but I'm glad to have my Derek back. I loved Miguel's return as well and that he could actually speak Spanish. However, best of all, Derek actually kick butt enough to keep the 2 berserkers off the others!!! Finally, Derek remembered how to fight! Please don't forget again!
I really liked Derek's blue eyes. What happened to them? Because, according to Peter, Derek had already killed Paige.
This had a great story and I loved having Peter and Stilinski back in the show for a bit. Malia's growing on me as well. She's really tough. She's really cute with Stiles. Still like Parrish but I really didn't like that other officer.

  4. Loved this episode but I have so many questions!

I knew Derek was going to go back to his normal self in this episode but I was shocked to see the reveal that he now has golden eyes! How in the hell did that happen? Something to do with the berserkers? And who in the hell stole 117 million from Peter and why?

LOL at the dinner scene with Stiles, Agent McCall, and "Miguel". That was great and comedy gold.

I was surprised that Peter didn't tell Malia that he is her father when he had the chance but I guess that will be saved for a future episode.

These berserkers are not to be messed around with and look to be way harder to kill than the Oni last season. I can't wait to find out more about them!

I also really liked the scene with Lydia and Kira at the gas station. I'm loving that their friendship is evolving more.

Ugh at the Kate/young Derek kiss. I'll just forget that ever happened.

  5. lol at stiles being the little spoon with malia, liked young derek treating scott as his alpha, and i think the benefactor stole the bonds

    ReplyDelete
  6. i think i liked the beserkers more when i thought they were skeletons not human wearing bones, vomit at kate kissing scene

    ReplyDelete
  7. Stiles face when Derek started spouting Spanish was priceless...ew at Kate and Derek but that was old news...and YAY for Derek being back to being Derek. Oh, and boo at the Hale family fortune getting lifted.

    ReplyDelete
  8. That's what a beserker is, though, a human who puts on a skin (or in this case bones) to get animalistic powers.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Nothing in this episode made logical sense, but hey....berserkers.

    ReplyDelete
  10. I agree with that, plus, who cares if someone stole bonds? I don't care.

I love Peter, so I was glad he got scenes. But most of this ep felt like it went nowhere.

    ReplyDelete
  11. yeah but i thought it would be cooler if they were skeletal creatures

    ReplyDelete
  12. This was a good episode. As usual Stiles was awesome with Scott's dad and "Miguel" I'm not surprised that Peter didn't tell Malia that he was her father cause well it's Peter and I know he will get inside her head try to get her on his side and try to make her not trust everyone but him then at the worst possible time he will drop the bomb on her. The whole Kate and Derek kiss was gross. The berserkers were great. Now as to who stole all of the Hale's money, I think it was Scott's dad. Ever since las season I said there was something about him that was just not right. I think he knows exactly what's going on, I think he knows about werewolves and stuff and I think he works for someone who Peter or the entire Hale family pissed off and his FBI job is just a cover to come to town for some type of revenge(I know it's a reach but I have a strong feeling about it). I loved seeing young Derek helping Scott and the others and fighting the berserkers. I'm so glad he is back to himself now lets just hope he knows what Kate is up to and why the berserkers are in town. Over all a great episode.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Ha! I tweeted: So last season we had alphas, Darach, and DarkStiles. This season we have....thieves? Huh? #TeenWolf

    ReplyDelete
  14. Good episode with a lot of great Stiles scenes, Kate's agenda is really strange. So The Benefactor (is who I'm think, black clothing, looks a lot like what was teased in the promos or just the most less man) wants 117 million (dollars?) to buy more skeletal clothing?

Young Derek's been cool, nice to have normal Derek back.

I was cool to see Miguel, sometimes with the Berserkers, I wish the Argents were around to help, they would be great in this sort of situation.

I also have a lot of questions left, I'm waiting for more interesting Mexican mythology though.

    ReplyDelete
  15. aren't they the same age? Wouldn't she have been a teen when he was originally was?

    ReplyDelete
  16. Scott is seriously the worst Alpha ever. Dude gets his ass whipped by everyone. However, the episode was pretty awesome. Loved Stiles being back to Stiles again. Still a tad weird without Allison though.

    ReplyDelete
  17. He;s more of a leader, than physically imposing. Basically Scott unites everyone and his humanity and nature is what allows them to succeed, is he weak for a an Alpha physically yeah. But mentally and willfully no.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Awesome episode, old style awesome episode minus the end fight scene.
Loved the classic Derek and Stiles scenes.
Malia assimilation to civilization is funny. And Glad she takes pride in pack mentality.

The only bad part apart this episode was the end fight with the Berserkers. again with the off power balance.
Like really a boss lvl Alpha Scott can't maintain = battle with 1 Berserker, but an elite lvl Omega can maintain battle with 2 Berserkers. does anyone see the problem that. No experience doesn't work for Derak he was De-aged , no natural wolf doesn't work him also, Scots a supposed True Alpha... These titles and status are suppose to matter, other wise whats the point to them all...

still glad 90% of the episode was good tho.

    ReplyDelete
  19. that's and excuse. watch what happens with Kate gains control, gonna debunk the only a year thing.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Scott has the status of an alpha just not the full power of one. He doesn't have the traditional pack to give the him more strength, Derrick said in season 2 there needs to be at least 3 betas in the pack for the power, both seasons he has only had two. Issac and Derrick and now Derrick and Malia, in theory he is an Omega Alpha, a weaker Alpha, but I would say that when he has a traditional pack his True Alpha strength will kick in and be far greater than any Alpha, It would be a good story line.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I'm thinking that Teen Wolf's writers have perhaps gone a little too far in appeasing those fans who were complaining about that admittedly cheesy "true alpha" (i.e, boy savior) concept from 3A...the result being that Scott apparently can no longer fight his way out of a paper bag. C'mon writers, he's a werewolf. He should occasionaly be able to kick someone's butt...whether he's a true alpha or not.

    ReplyDelete
  22. No. Kate is older than he is.

    ReplyDelete
  23. He should definitely but he's afraid of what power it could bring so...

    ReplyDelete
  24. If that does happen, it doesn't mean anything. Kate's a vengeful angry and incredibly well trained were-jaguar (which means she should naturally be stronger than a wwerewolf, since jaguars are stronger) who can draw power from that. Scott unlike, Derek or Kate, or most werewolves lacks that significant aggression, or rage (or combat training) to empower himself. Plus from what I've heard he's gonna get beaten around a lot as a leader this season, probably until he better learns to either draw strength from himself or his friends.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Surely by only two or three years, at most. And if he was 17 or going on 17 not that bad IMO other than the fact she's a psychotic bitch.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Too much slow-mo

I had to laugh out loud at the final scene. I was sitting there thinking "oh crap what apocalyptic contraption is in the briefcase" ad then Peter says it's 127 million worth of bonds

    ReplyDelete
  27. yes on the slo-mo jeez, sometimes it's really cool and sometimes it's really annoying

    ReplyDelete
  28. Agreed sbout Scott, true Alpha my ass, he probably his ass kicked by everyone, i do not like the fact that they call him true alpha and there isn nothing that make him different from others alphas...

    ReplyDelete
  29. Look we get it Scott is a good guy ecc, but they called him true alpha, at least not get your ass kicked everytime. Honestly from scott alpha to scott beta there is no difference aside from the eyes. What's the point of making him an alpha if he doesnt improve on himself.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Scott's ass is fine indeed.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Lol, I meant it as a joke, but ok.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Isn't Scott different form other alphas because he's pack its not just wolves but friends? Also you would think that a wolf that turned himself into an alpha(just by willpower) would be more powerful than a normal alpha. besides his pack is not composed by wolves but by his friends. Even these new story with Kira is weak, Scott and Allison had much more impact.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Oh I know you weren't being serious. lol

    ReplyDelete
  34. True Alpha, all that means is he's a true first or leader, not some unstoppable badass. Agreed. But how would he do that? There isn't exactly an Alpha manual he can follow, the only way he could improve is maybe by tai hand to hand combat lessons from Derek or talking to Deaton. But even then it's been addressed on the show that he fears giving in to his werewolf side, and only appears able or even willing to do so when someone he cares about his going to die (like in Frayed). Actually there's more of a difference than just eyes, he can overpower other supernatural beings with his roar, cross mountain ash if need be and overcome electricity. Look if you want Scott to be more badass great, but you're going be waiting a while. Even then it's not like Scott is fighting pushovers, Oni demon warriors, Alpha packs and Berserkers channeling the power and ferocity of bears aren't easy. For a 17 year-old Alpha it'd say he's doing pretty well. Nice September Avatar btw.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Until now he didnt protect his pack at all that's my point. Even when Kira(his girlfriend) gets knocked down he diesnt react. I really hope that this problem with Scott will be addressed this season otherwise it not worth anything calling Scott a true alpha

    ReplyDelete
  36. Pretty important plot point. Given the bearer bonds will be the prize for the deadpool list created by the benefactor.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Why would he be physically stronger? He merely assumed it through great willpower. He didn't steal it from another Alpha, who it turn stole it, who did the same, etc. There's no accumulation of power over a lifetime of Alpha's in Scott's case. Plus Werewolves gain power through packs, not kitsunes or banshees or were coyotes, from a lore standpoint he doesn't even have a true pack.

    ReplyDelete
  38. September would had kicked every single ass in the teen wolf joint LOL Anyway all i want is for him to not get his ass kicked by an omega for example. I understand Oni demons, other Alphas and Berserkers but betas and omegas? There has to be a limit you know?

    ReplyDelete
  39. True, true. I get that. It was too much. Lol he would have. He'd just catch Argents bullets and teleport/ beat the crap out of all the characters in no time.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I thought that the difference for Scott was that he didnt need a true pack but that his pack were his friends, i dont think they have any intention to change it. Like you said Werewolves gain power through packs of werewolves but Scott it's not going to have it at least not all wolves.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Yes he would xD. i agree with some people mayve the writers have gone a little too far in 3A... Deucalion was a great antagonist, right now i feel he is kind of wasted in s3

    ReplyDelete
  42. Okay im not a shipper at all but doesn't anyone feels that this season could have been a great one for Stiles and Lydia?? I think that both characters really evolved from s1 and actually right now have much more chemistry that in the beginning? I started not liking Lydia at all but now she really is one of the best characters on the show... please someone agree with me xD

    ReplyDelete
  43. True, but just because he calls them his pack (since they are in a way) doesn't make them a pack since they're composed of a variety of beings, not werewolves. Derek's pack for example was a true pack as it consisted of five wolves (himself, Cora, Boyd, Erica and Isaac) but unlike Scott's pack they failed despite their all gaining strength and literally empowering each other, because Derek just plain sucked as a leader and they weren't a like minded cohesive group dedicated to Scott and saving others and defeating antagonists (rather a group of people who for selfish reasons became werewolves and all acted in misguided ill planned vengeance). But that's the beauty of his pack, he may not gain a physical boost from them, but his diverse group consisting of a kitsune, were coyote, a Stiles, a banshee and a brooding beta gives him not only excellent strategic and planning capabilities but also the ability to predict death, the guidance of a born werewolf and former Alpha, preternatural fighting abilities with a katana and electricity based attacks that give him an edge over just having a traditional pack.

    ReplyDelete
  44. They have chemistry, but I see it as more a bickering friendship of awesomeness. Which I lie as, a) I'm enjoying the exploration of Lydia's abilities as a Banshee as her focus right now; b) there are not enough opposite sex friendships on TV; c) they're hilarious; d) I'm not a fan of the guy has been pining for a guy forever and she learns about it and develops romantic feelings for him trope and e) I'm sorry but the Malia and Stiles weird relationship right now is really funny for me. She is a fantastic character though. I stand by Jackson leaving improved her character.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Of course, i agree with what you said, now what's Scott missing to become a true alpha? just control of his werewolf side? or something else i wonder ^^

    ReplyDelete
  46. I hope they confront that issue when he gets his first beta later this season.

    ReplyDelete
  47. a) I agree completely
    b) No there aren't but on TV is very difficult
    c) they could still be hilarious toghether too
    d) i agree with you but what i meant was that Stiles is not pining anymore and Lydia doenst seem the girl that starts having feelings just because a guy does. I hust meant thatt right now they are much more close and in tune with each other. Some might read friendship, i would like to see something more (just out of curiousity).
    e) i just find the weird relationship too weird since he's basically a school teacher to her, fun but to a point.
I love the journey that both characters had, i feel like they deserve something more that a weird relationship.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Derek is a beta now isn't it? Omega=blue Beta=gold Alpha=red

    ReplyDelete
  49. Actually Omega is just a lone beta wolf or the weakest beta in a pack. It can be blue or gold. I meant Scott will apparently create his first beta.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Scott is a True Alpha, he just needs to be guided on his abilities with the help of Derrick and Deaton. For him to get the physical power boost, he needs a pack of 3 beta's.
I can imagine a Teen Wolf season finale of Scott being in battle being beating down when Issac, Cora, Ethan and if they can get Colton Haynes, even Jackson returning to complete his pack and give him the power boost to beat the big bad.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Blue eyes happens when they take the life of an innocent.

    ReplyDelete
  52. When Peter was explaining to Kate how he trained Derek it seemed to me like, from the very beginning, Peter was trainig Derek to be his beta. Like even then Peter was working his way to becoming an Alfa.

Love Malia (reminds me of Anya - BtVS) and loved young Derek (but am happy to have old Derek back)
Best scene - Young Derek / Sheriff - at the police station. The sheriffs expresion stil makes me smile.
Best interaction: young Derek - Stiles.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I read in an interview that Malia even being were coyote is counted as a beta in Scott's traditional pack. She is a Were "shape shifter", Just that her experience and emotional experiences caused her to take the form of a coyote.

    ReplyDelete
  54. sorry Jackson is already part of a pack, the Arrow pack xD

    ReplyDelete
  55. okok like Peter with Scott, the mexican lady was probably hinting at this.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Somehow I have a bad feeling about Scott's dad. I mean I'm probably so wrong but I can't get it out of my head that he somehow could be the benefactor. So much for that.

I loved the episode. The only thing I'm wondering these days.. Shouldn't Scott have learned how to fight by now? I mean he is the Alpha but in the end it's a young/normal Derek who holds off the Beserkers? Last season against the Alpha pack he was getting stronger and almost defeated that muscular tall guy. I understand his struggle in season 3B because of all the stuff that happened but right now he should be starting to really dive into being an Alpha..
But I really loved young Derek. These actors are so similar and it's just so rare that younger versions of characters fit so well.

that he did not ''power up'' when malia and kira needed help bothered me too but i think that had to do with making room for derek's awesome comeback so that's more the fault of the writers then scott

    ReplyDelete
  58. Sarah van BinnebekeJuly 2, 2014 at 2:37 AM

i thought that when derek's mother was alive her being a true alpha had more to do with her giving good advice then being the most feared/powerfull werewolf and when duecalion tried to make scott kill someone so that he could not be a true true alpha i thought that maybe that means being a true alpha has more to do with looking for an other option then fighting,

i'm thinking maybe the power a true alpha has is there to help him/her not to have to fight
but scott should have beter control over his power so that he can stop the bad guys a lot faster in the hopes of less dead people
because that's what scott wants right? less fights and death...?
and i know that when that happens the show is over so i'm expecting that to last a couple of seasons

    ReplyDelete
  59. Well, Kate's tombstone said she was born in '83, but I have no idea what year we'd flashed back to when Derek met Paige. They hooked up after Paige died so, that would mean at the time he was somewhere between 16 and 18. Which is all to say...I'm logs. :-O

    ReplyDelete
  60. The reason Scott is the "True Alpha" is because the show is "Teen Wolf" and Scott is the star. End of story. That's it, bottom line.
The only explanation that is given in the show is that he becomes an alpha through determination and not killing. Has nothing to do with power or fighting capabilities or leadership or anything else. The others follow him because he's their friend and their his.
It's also why the writers stripped Derek of his Alpha powers so that Scott could be the Alpha of Beacon Hills. I'm really going to hate it if they have Derek join Scott's "pack" after Scott steadfastly refusing to join Derek, except on Scott's terms.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Derek isn't part of Scott's pack, just like Scott was never a part of Derek's pack.
I enjoyed that Derek finally was able to fight without getting his butt kicked. Plus, Derek had been training in fighting skills longer than Scott who doesn't fight unless he absolutely has to.
True Alpha only means that he became an Alpha without killing anyone through determination (willpower). That doesn't automatically give him power or fighting skills, etc.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Yes this is what they were going at since S2.And its should of still applied till now, but maybe they changed their minds. But that alone doesn't explain the inconsistency.

    ReplyDelete
  63. For me, Derek is the worst Alpha ever. I think the show established that Scott's strengths as an alpha are not in his being the strongest out there when it comes to physical combat. That's why, last season, the twins kept offering themselves as his muscle. Also during the attempted hijacking of the van transporting the silver finger that older wolf was laughing at his inability to fight. Actually, I think he said what you said 'What kind of Alpha are you?" And the twins popped up to take care of the fighting for Scott. It looks to me like, when Derek comes completely back to himself, that is going to be his place in the pack; the muscle.

There is a series of werewolf novels (the Kitty Norville series) where this woman becomes the Alpha of Denver CO's pack. That author's take is that being alpha is about taking care of the pack and not just fighting. She recognizes that she's not a great hand to hand fighter (she's not even good) so she has to approach the problems facing her pack from a different angle. I think they're going for something similar here.

    ReplyDelete
  64. When it comes to the construction of the Berserker fight sequence it was handled horribly. As they all fell the just sort of sat there and watched. No one reacted. No one tried to get back into the fight (especially Malia....she's still functioning (we're being told) like she's still more wild than tame. She should have kept fighting) ...they just stared. I don't know if they were supposed to be looking like they too beaten to get back up or what but just sitting there watching others fight. It just rang wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Yes the fault is too much on the writers.

They could of used what they started, when Derek was in the vault and he mention that's Scott, he needs my help (something along the lines) this could of led up to the 2 of them back to back handling the Bezerks in sync like old fiends who got back togehter. imo that would of been more of a value to the viewers then just Derek alone.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Sarah van BinnebekeJuly 2, 2014 at 4:25 PM

i would have liked to see that
do think there is a difference between stupid decisions of writers en stupid decisions of characters?

    ReplyDelete
  67. late but, yea there is a difference.

when its the characters stupid decisions you will know about within the show when some one calls them on it, or the post episode interviews where writers explain the behavior of the characters.

more times in this show its the writers mistakes. and those are the ones that the viewers spot and are unsaid inside the show.
