    We knew exactly what this episode was from the trailer. No surprises. No twists. But I did really like the character work. Also like that others in this crew are allowed to be the voice of reason. I had no problem with the ending but I was rooting for a bullet between the eyes. :-)

    I'm so happy TNT renewed this! And that was a pretty good and intense episode. And damn at the team going after that guy. That was awesome and they work really well together.

    Well, I would say more properly that the plot is the effort to produce a cure--they already the raw material for it--and that means staying alive and functional as a ship and crew. It isn't a search for some unknown/unspecified cure, and the groundwork for that plot line's resolution was laid in the first three episodes. Besides, you can't sustain it for four or five seasons, especially with the virus still spreading.

    It's a matter of text and subtext. The virus is a plot device, but the overall storyline is about the crew, and through them, about civilization. In that light, "El Toro" is an important episode, the first to show the state of the world off-ship in any detail, and what people are doing about it. A vaccine will be developed, but the overall struggle is re-establishing civilization after societal collapse. And they did get the monkeys, which moves the plot forward on that point.

    I agree. I just don't understand why, they didn't go back to the ship first? They could of rearmed, and got a lot more then 3 men, to go in with.

    I liked the ep, but I thought it was very formula. It did serve to show us that the Navy guys have hearts and all that. I had some problems with this ep. But I'm tough. If I was the Captain and I was in that situation, my men, my people, and those monkeys would have come first. And most likely, I probably wouldn't have helped those people because it was risky and it wasted ammo. And the mission comes first. But that's just me.

    I liked the new forming relationship with the doctor back on the ship. They might make a good couple.

    That being said, I'm kind of feeling like every situation is too easy for them. They saved the samples, now they have monkeys. It's just all a bit too easy.
