    I love Carter and her father's relationship (even though he's a little shady). She pisses me off, though. And why does everyone keep going along with her "real mom" thing? THE WOMAN KIDNAPPED HER. STOP AGREEING WITH HER. And hanging out with a shady drug dealer was an A+ plan and could have ended much worse.

    Great episode and I really like this show so far.

    I see more as a distinction as in parent vs mother (or on another level biological mother vs adoptive mother).

    Leon is correct. Carter sees Lori as her "mom". Lori did look pretty sketchy reacting to Carter hugging her dad, but at this point in the series all we know is Lori kidnapped Carter but beyond that they had a close, sibling like relationship as mother and daughter.
