Poor Amanda. I wonder why exactly they need her memories. And poor Yewell. It's not healthy that she wants to keep seeing her girlfriend, though. She has to let go.
This show keeps getting better and better - great characters, great pace in each episode, and the cultures of these Votans that the writers of Defiance made is so rich and immersive and so fully realized. Nice to see some exploration of Yewell, very profound, and the family struggle between the Tarrs is so intense, yet humorous.
I thought this was a strong episode. I rated it a 8.5/10. I have to say, i'm enjoying this season, a lot more than last season. I'm glad i stuck with it.
From Datak's "fall and redemption", to Stahma's "rise to power and control", and the "Mayor Rosewater Mysteries" this season of Defiance has been head over heels better than last season! This episode was a little weird, but entertaining never the less..........more scenes/backstory on Dr. Yewll, please (No Spoilers). Not one bad episode yet this season for me. 4 DEFIANCE NOW AND NEED/WANT LATER, I will remain Nobody!!!
In the season premiere, I really enjoyed Amanda and Nolan's closeness. As the episodes progressed, I was pleasantly surprised that the show went to Amanda and Nolan having sex. Here I was, hoping a budding relationship will form, when the writers so abruptly ended it in this episode. I guess it's to tease us viewers with a peek at those two being together, but then stall them staying together, so that both Amanda and Nolan can remain single and have more drama with other people . I hate it when shows do that though. Hoping Amanda soon sees Pottinger for the creepy stalker that he is...and gets back with Nolan soon too.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteAgreed! The first season was kinda rocky, but so far every ep of season 2 has been excellent
ReplyDeleteduring the hallucinations i had the feeling that doc yewell had experimented on pottinger and that he was the one that raped amanda am i the only one?
ReplyDeleteI agree that Pottinger raped Amanda. His obsession with Conner, being the likely reason.

ReplyDeleteI've been wondering the same thing, if Pottinger could be the rapist. There was just something about his face when Amanda told him about the rape..

ReplyDeleteI see I'm not the only one that thought that.

I thought Pottinger was the rapist too! So creepy that he has managed to get Amanda to trust him more, and let him get closer. Ick.
