Despite, what some people may say which is entirely they're right, I'm going to say that was an awesome episode, from beginning to the end and all in between, the acting was superlitave, with a nice setup for season three, again my op
I wasn't going to be the first one to post that, but I totally agree. This entire season has been a hot mess of uneven storytelling and bad writing. This show's beginning premise was interesting enough. Modern science combined with modern technology was misused and tested on unsuspecting members of the military to create the so-called perfect soldier only to have the experiment go terribly wrong and create "beasts". Now let's take a look at the inconsistencies of this season. We find out that back in 1854 not only did beasts exists, but Catherine coincidentally had an ancestor also caught up with these altered men. Writers make up your minds, are the beasts created by inherited genes or scientifically altered genes? The science sure didn't exist back in 1854 to create this situation. There is a mysterious gem that controls beasts dating back to this same time period. Who found or created this gem and how exactly does it control beasts? It feels like the writers tried to pull the show back to its original premise by introducing this mysterious agency that saved JT in the hospital. However, the damage has been done to this show and I don't think it will be renewed for viewers to see Vincent and Catherine work with the secret agency to fight the scientifically altered bad person of the week. Looks like that honor will go to another CW show, The Flash.
Deja Vu was an awesome ending to a roller coaster season, all thanks to the best cast and crew ever assembled. Thank you to each and every one of them, and to the CW for having faith in BATB and giving us a Season 3.
Awesome episode,& I'm glad they didn't leave us hanging like at the end of first season. I was concerned we were going to lose JT though, very happy we didn't,it left us in a good place for season 3 to pick up..Gabe finally got what he deserved & Reynolds has finally come around to Catherine's side with Vincent...Thank you to everyone involved, actors & crew..job well done by all.....
So that was awesome and wonderful ending. Yeahhh to Beastie world wide for making season 3 possible and for staying positive through to the end. Despite all the negative we had to endure from certain folks we survived for another season and made it through. Thank you to Spoiler TV and those that suported the show and I truly hope those who do not like the show and make negative comments to stir or bait the fans just simply stay away for season 3. Spoiler TV have lost a lot of folks due to the constant negativity toward the show /fans and unprofessional behavor from those that should know better. See you later Beasties.
That really was and amazing season finale, despite a lot of disappointed critics not a series finale, we've got season three, to look forward too, oh Happy Day, Gabe is Dead, in the end Sendhil did a great job, want miss him though:)
after watching the episode for the first time i LOVED it! and i do still love it, but now that ive watched multiple times already, i really wish VinCat had longer romantic moments like at the very beginning when they are talking about Rebecca and Alister and then BAM! JT knocks on door. also i wish the very ending was a bit different like if it also included them going back to Cat's apartment. the good news is that the producer promised more romance in S3, so i cant argue about that, but idk if i can wait 6+ months for VinCat romance lol!! And yes im glad Gabe is gone but for some reason im not completely satisfied that he just died cuz after EVERYTHING he did, he totally deserved to rot in a cell 4ever like Cat's father! all in all im still pretty happy with the finale i would have just made those few tweaks :)
This was an awesome season finale. Vincent and Catherine together put an end to Gabe once and for all. JT survived Gabe's wrath. JT&T are happy and fine. Vincent and Catherine are happy, free and very much in love. We got our season 3...thank God!! All is right in the world.
It was already renewed for season three. But I agree, it's a very badly written show. And this finale, I liked the flashbacks, but I thought the ep was weak and not much of a cliffhanger to keep me wanting more at all. It was a weak finale.
I think it was OK somehow, I knew something like this was going to happen, I was desperate to find a complicated or at least more interesting season finale, but I was wrong, I think it's OK to have a happy ending for a change, but a TV show especially one with these numbers has to find a way to keep the audience hooked, and this ending has nothing!!, I mean everything seems to be perfect for the main characters, Vincent can be in the open and even has a job, Cat is a happy detective with no more secrets to hide, JT and Tess well they're in love now, so what's the big event that will make it come back next season, what will keep me wondering and dying to see next year?? NOTHING the secret agency that came out from nowhere??, please, I don't know what happened to this show but now it's a complete mess, I'm pretty sure they were expecting to be cancelled and this was their series finale.
loved it, vincent and catherine were badass together and loved kristin and jay as rebecca and alistair, was actually worried jt would die since so many huge characters have died on shows i watch, so the g-men really are the good guys huh cool, i guess the only real way for gabe to leave the show was to die, loved vincent and gabe's fight though
I didn't remember BATB being on the fall schedule so I thought it wasn't renewed. I guess it's going to be on the summer schedule? Anyway, I guess this is one case where the fans rallied and it was an important factor for the renewal. Now the show has to live up to the fans' support.
It was renewed when they canceled Tomorrow People. I do not know when the next season will be. But it was definitely renewed and fans fought for it. Why, I have no clue. It's not a good show. I only really liked one ep out of the entire two seasons.
the flashbacks were awesome --- i loved the whole epicness when Catherine was about to thtrow Vincent blood down in order for Gabe to track hi8m -- and then she realized what happened to Rebecca and Alister ( nice flashbaks , nice music on the back ) loved it ;)
I have to disagree , season two has been more 'theme packed' ... a whole lot more action , faster pace etc ... plus we got more of some characters , JT or Tess ...plus all the characters have '' grown up '' ... acting was much better than season 1 ... as for the gen and stuff we've already gotten a lot of answers , so , I guess we're gonna know everything we need in season 3 // BUT it's also a matter of taste if you liked it or not , right ? :) have a nice day ! ;)
Brad Kern was 'clear' about that ... they thought that this could be the last season ... they found out about renewal weeks later -- so he just wanted to give us something better than season 1 ( 'cause let's face it , we almost died with last season's finale :) ) ... I don't say that it had a big cliffhanger or anything , 'cause i agree with what you said about it ... but , I get why it happened this way ;)
It didn't have a big cliffhanger bc at the time they filmed it they didn't know about it's fate yet. So they wanted to give the fans a sort of conclusion in case it would be a series finale. And I love them for that. How many shows let their fans hanging after cancellation? I think that's an awful thing to do to loyal fans.
As did Jay and Nina And Austin. Great episode awesome finale. Also hats off to the crew. Super job well done..Now starts the long wait for S3. Guess will be watching the reruns till then.. Sure hope we get to see more interviews of Kristin and Jay in the next few months.
awesome finale now the long wait for S3. As for Gabe being dead just not sure about that yet. I hope it is true but he did come back to life before. Maybe those agents work for him and brought him back to life . Look how they saved JT because of their experiments. Will keep my fingers crossed.
My take on the flash backs were Cat’s imagination of what happened and what people looked like. She imagined Rebecca and Alistar looked like her and Vincent, she imagined what Alistar looked like as a beast, but who’s to say that is actually what Alistar looked like as a beast. Reality could be he looked more like an animal, like the remains she found with Tori. To say the science didn’t exist back then while probably true, really isn’t relevant to a show based on mythology and fantasy. Heck, the science probably doesn’t exist now, but that’s neither here nor there, in this fantasy show it does exist and it did back in 1854 too. I imagine that 1854’s experiments were inferior to todays technology which is why I suggested perhaps the beasts back then were more primitive and that their goal was to create a beast more man-like so they could blend in should their experiment not have gone terribly wrong. As to the gem, if we had all the answers there would be no more story to tell. I hope we learn about that stuff in S3, I find it more interesting than the cases/crimes. The show has already been renewed, but at the time of filming the finale they didn’t know that. So they created a finale that should it be their last fans would at least have some satisfying closure and I have to say I respect them for that. Nothing is more saddening than being a fan of a show that ends in limbo. So Brad and company get a big thank you from me! But I don’t need a big BATB cliffhanger to bring me back for next season, because I love the show for more than the stories it tells. I love the cast chemistry, the characters, the overall story. I’m already anxious for it’s premiere (whenever it may be) and I will be ready and waiting at my TV when it comes back on. :)
You're absolutely right, the entire cast was amazing, I also liked Reynolds came around to team Vincat, yep now the long wait begins to season 3, I also agree about Gabe, in the end I actually felt sorry for him, but why did he have to go and mess with people from the circle, my pity went away, I'm right there with you I will be doing a marathon of season one and two trying not to count the days till BATB returns, keeping in mind we've got an awesome fandom!!!! Have a great summer BEASTIES!!)
Waiting for a big bang ,got few firecrackers but overall an entertaining episode. The back and forth through time was well meshed and well executed . They did a good job with a limited budget. - Rebecca and Allistair : can we have a S3 about these two only ? Loved them ! ( KK was stunning in her red gowns). Just wondering why they waited the very last moment to introduce them . Best part of the episode for me. - Mythology : much ado about nothing, isn't it ? - VinCat : Cheesy & friendly . Dialogues were a bit repetitive.I would say the fast-paced S2 theme (and poor writing )didn't really help this couple in connecting with each other on a deeper and more emotional level. Not sure S2 writers know the difference between Romance and Cheesiness . A big question mark for season 3 , too. - Gabe : Absurd and pretty grotesque. He should have left few episodes ago. Killed by The new vampire slayer with a wooden stick . Amen - Agent Reynolds : Omg , my beloved big baddie become a lovely daddy. Really disappointed. - JT : For a moment I fear for him. But King Beastie is still around. - Tess : Nina was amazing. Her best performance . She and KK were the best ones in this last episode. Ready for the long hiatus .
I loved it!! While I would have loved to have had one of Sheri and Jen’s epic VinCat moments, I did love the ep. As an acceptable alternative, when Cat asked forgiveness for locking V in the cell, his reply was incredibly adorable!!
I can’t help it, I love Gabe as a bad guy. He plays the role so beautifully, I actually find myself smiling a little when he was causing mayhem (not while killing people mind you, that would be creepy!! lol) I was not pleased when they killed Knox tho! But hey! Maybe we will be surprised next season and find out those agents saved him too!! I hope so, I really liked him and thought he would fit in nicely to the gang. Honestly, I never once thought they would kill JT, that would be suicide for the show! lol Imagine the riot from beasties world wide if they killed our Mr. Basis! lol! That would be like killing Cat or V! Not going to happen.
I really liked the flashbacks. I was a little worried when I heard about period costumes, but IMO it worked.
I’m looking forward to what S3 promises. While I loved V living in the shadows in S1 and a certain amount of him being on the run is exciting, I’m ready to move onto something else for him.
There will be no complaints from me about there not being a big exciting, pulse pounding cliffhanger. I respect their choice to play it safe for us fans should the show not have be renewed and thank them for it!! I don’t need a big cliffhanger to bring me back for another season, especially when it comes to BATB.
Eu loved the episode - seem me pretty coherent. I loved see everybody (Cat, JT and Tess) help Vincent. I was worried that Cat stayed too obsessed with the diary of her aunt, but she happily realized at the time that not everything could be the same. One of my favorite scenes was Cat and Vincent and fighting with Gabe... and still she finally save Vincent - what was awesome. As for romance, unfortunately I do not think we will have more hot scenes - I believe that the writers think that with Season 1, we already know how VinCat are on intimacy, so I think they understand that this part not need be implicit anymore - it stay for our imagination . It's a shame because the couple have amazing chemistry.
Well done BATB, the season finale was great. We had closure on many issues and can start on a clean slate for S3. I can not wait to the show to come back on air.
I agree that Cat's imagination and desperation played a large part in self identifying and drawing parallels between her life with Vincent and Rebecca's life with Alistair. I didn't literally mean that technology exists today to create beasts :), but in the context of this show there was a thread of reality the writers used to create this story in season 1. That's what all good stories do because it's the small touchstones of reality that allows viewers to be drawn into the sci-fi/fantasy world insteading of seeing these tales as ridiculous. The technology didn't exist back in the days of Mary Shelley writing Frankenstein. It doesn't even exist today, but Shelley used elements that existed during that time period to craft her story and draw readers in. That's what BATB needs to do in the next season. There is a lot of cleaning up that needs to be done regarding the Rebecca storyline in the explanation of how beasts existed 200 years ago and the gem's existance while tying into the present storyline. If the writers were smart, they would use the gem as a starting point in how the mysterious agency was able to develop the bracelet to stop Vincent from beasting out. The introduction of the secret agency that wants to recruit Vincent and Catherine will be the second reboot the show. The writers need to get it right this time if BATB is to stay on CW.
Yeah, that's what I thought. But after the episode where he saved her in the elevator shaft (I think that's what it was), it went from remembering bits and pieces to remembering everything in the span of one or two episodes. Or at least that's what it seems like to me, hence the confusion.
I totally agree with you, they ended season 2 beautifully. Nothing would ever keep me from watching BATB. In me they have a Beastie for life. This show, cast and crew will always hold a special place in my heart. I will be patiently waiting for season 3...NOT.
I agree with some of what you say-definitely more action, faster paced, edgier, but I disagree that we got more of some characters-the only one we got more of was Gabe. There were more than a few episodes that JT and Tess were not even in, but Gabe was in every single episode and a fair amount if not more than the lead actors. Did we really develop anyone's character-they pretty well turned out to be who they already were in season 1. There were for sure parts of season 2 I liked, but having more action, faster etc doesn't necessarily mean it was better, but you are right that is a matter of taste. Also there were a lot of new writers this season, so some of the themes lacked some continuity and consistency. I guess I don't really feel that we got any answers about the gem either., All we really knew right from the start and now is that it controls beasts-we didn't learn any of the backstory-who invented it, where it came from, what it is made of. But at the end of the day, whether liked or did not like season 2 we are loyal fans and stuck with it so we got a season 3. I am so looking forward to that and the more romance that Brad Kerns has promised us. I hope to see some more passion with VinCat that we had this year-yes their looks, etc speak volumes but it is a TV show and that does sell-not all the time but at least some sexy scenes like S1-it is okay to do that at times. This is a couple who fight for their life everyday and having some intense scenes would make a lot of sense. It did surprise me that there were not more of them the last 6 episodes-as you say it was more intense, faster paced, etc and thought that would go along with it. I respect that fact that you liked this season, my preference was season 1. I see that some of what had to happen in season 2 did and why and so now we can build on from there and keep VinCat together forever!
This episode was written before they knew there was aseason three so, they wrote it with some closure so that fans wouldn't have a fit. Beasties are campaigning to get back what was intact in season 1. I loved this episode, love the paralleling of past and present and the symbolism of Vincents blood on Cat's hands and not repeating past mistakes.
This show was written before they knew there was a season 3, so it was written for closure, so that there wouldn't be pissed off fans like SC and TTP. They kinda left it open with the men in black, just in case. But again it was mainly written without any cliffhangers and like the fairy tale would end. I personally loved the story parallels and symbolism.
This show was done prior to S3 renewal, so they didnt know there was a saeson 3, so they wrote it mostly to give fans closure. Nothing liked P'd off fans. I loved this episode, but I guess everyone has their opinion.
Wasnt going to say it but I think TV is saturated with fast action heroes. I'm not into those kind of shows, so even with all the promos, and they are promoting it a lot, I wont be watching it. Again it's a matter of preference
I agree with you in some parts ...but I have have to disagree on others --- JT we got a whole lot more of him // even if he wasn't in some episodes like you said -- the ones he was in .. he took much more time than he did in the first season ... as for Vincent and Catherine - think about it , this season they took completely different paths for a long while - so they got to see what happens if they choose to be apart aka what happens when they are completely diferrent ( meaning Vincent being more of a beast and Catherine getting herself out the crazy world of beasts ) ... something that has lead them to one thing --- they can't be apart and they're finding themselves when they are together ( that's growth ! - I think ) .... as for season 3 GOOD NEWS ! :) Mr. Brad Kern has already given us the theme of next season and he said it's gonna 'vincat centric' --- more romance and relationship stuff ;) ;) ;)
they had rupped first --- they learned about renewal weeks later ... that's why they wanted to give more of a closure than a cliffhanger ( they thought that this could be the last episode )
We all have our different perceptions and likes and dislikes. The one thing that I sincerely hope does not happen again, and it sounds like the show runner has learned this is that you have to listen to and honour the fans. You and many other may have loved the season but just as many if not more didn't. That is neither here nor there at this point except that fans were very vocal and ratings spoke volumes about the creative choices. There was time to change some things and I am sure that some things were changed. Even the network knew the season wasn't working. At the end of the day, you have to listen to your audience or else they will disappear like what happened this year. It sounds like the small and dedicated loyal fanbase will be rewarded next season by the focus being on VinCAT and their love. I am looking forward to that! I hope it tops season 1 which for me was the very best and why I am so obsessed with this show!
well now I totally agree with what you said ;) and i also think that they got the message ..especially Brad Kern ..since season 3 it's gonna be more about vincat ;) I really do have faith in them :) i loved season 2 and after what he said (BK) i think i'll like season 3 even more ;)
Sorry to disagree, but I have seen the other CW shows and they all have the bad person of the week. As for the action figure shows, TV is saturated with them and also undead shows. It is a matter of preferance and I happen to like this genre. Some of the questions you asked, were actually answered in previous episodes and some are yet to be answered. This is true of any show out there or else they would all wrap up or end in one episode. Sorry you were dissapointed, but no show can possibly please everyone, even the most popular CW shows get negative feedback from viewers. It varies. I wont be watching the Flash, as I already watch Arrow and one is enough for me. As far as inconsistencies go, BatB isnt the only show that has them. I can sit down and nick pick any show and bring out inconsistencies. I watch this show for entertainment and it does entertain me. Again, my opinion and preferance. Please dont read anything I have written in a negative way, that is not my intention. I am simply expressing my opinion on the matter
The finale was written to please fans in case the show did not get renewed to give fans closure. It wasnt meant to have an action packed cliffhanger. this is only a privilege that shows that are being renewed have because they know its coming back for another season. If the writers had written a cliffhanger and left it dangling like they did with SC and TTP, then the fandom would have stormed the CW network. I know people are used to the "cliffhangers" leaving people wanting for more, but I thought they were very considerate to fans, something unheard of. Because one thing fans hate is nonclosure. Oh yeah, as far as cliffhangers go, I was very disappointed this year with SPN cliffhanger, that wasnt much of one either and yet they knew the show was coming back. I watched SPN for 9 years and the season finale was a disappointment for me. But again, that is my opinion. Another demon possession, wow, how original, lol. So there you have my long winded explanation Elle. Sorry if I bored you with it
Dont know how many episodes of this you watched Ralph, but the last episode was the completion of an ARC. And it was actually written as a Series Finale to please fans or give them closure just in case the season did not get renewed. But they did leave it open to a Season 3 possibility. I thought that was very considerate of writers to do that for fans. BatB did not have the privilege that the higher rated shows have and that is knowing that renewal is guaranteed thing. So they can have the "cliffhanger" thing going on. I thought it was very thoughtful of writers to give fans this nice ending, just in case. I hate the way they just left both TTP and SC dangling. By the way, I can say that I was disappointed in some Season finales of some of the other CW shows I have seen, one being SPN, after 9 years I can say I wasnt impressed. That didnt have a real cliffhanger per say. And really, another possession, HOW ORIGINAL. Again, this is my opinion, and I dont expect people to agree or disagree with me. Just stating it, like other people.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Man that was awful. Why did I give this show a chance again?

ReplyDeleteYou're absolutely right, the entire cast was amazing, I also liked Reynolds came around to team Vincat, yep now the long wait begins to season 3, I also agree about Gabe, in the end I actually felt sorry for him, but why did he have to go and mess with people from the circle, my pity went away, I'm right there with you I will be doing a marathon of season one and two trying not to count the days till BATB returns, keeping in mind we've got an awesome fandom!!!! Have a great summer BEASTIES!!)
ReplyDeleteWaiting for a big bang ,got few firecrackers but overall an entertaining episode. The back and forth through time was well meshed and well executed . They did a good job with a limited budget.
ReplyDelete- Rebecca and Allistair : can we have a S3 about these two only ? Loved them ! ( KK was stunning
in her red gowns). Just wondering why they waited the very last moment to introduce them . Best part of the episode for me.
- Mythology : much ado about nothing, isn't it ?
- VinCat : Cheesy & friendly . Dialogues were a bit repetitive.I would say the fast-paced S2 theme
(and poor writing )didn't really help this couple in connecting with each other on a deeper and
more emotional level. Not sure S2 writers know the difference between Romance and Cheesiness . A big question mark for season 3 , too.
- Gabe : Absurd and pretty grotesque. He should have left few episodes ago. Killed by The new
vampire slayer with a wooden stick . Amen
- Agent Reynolds : Omg , my beloved big baddie become a lovely daddy.
ReplyDeleteI can’t help it, I love Gabe as a bad guy.
ReplyDeleteAs for romance, unfortunately I do not think we will have more hot scenes - I believe that the writers think that with Season 1, we already know how VinCat are on intimacy, so I think they understand that this part not need be implicit anymore - it stay for our imagination . It's a shame because the couple have amazing chemistry.
really sorry for your show but now we are talking about Batb
ReplyDeleteit will be back on January 2015 -- something like a midseason show
ReplyDeleteWell done BATB, the season finale was great. We had closure on many issues and can start on a clean slate for S3. I can not wait to the show to come back on air.
ReplyDeleteGlad it's coming back and thanks for a happy ending.
ReplyDeleteI agree that Cat's imagination and desperation played a large part in self identifying and drawing parallels between her life with Vincent and Rebecca's life with Alistair.
ReplyDeleteYeah, that's what I thought. But after the episode where he saved her in the elevator shaft (I think that's what it was), it went from remembering bits and pieces to remembering everything in the span of one or two episodes. Or at least that's what it seems like to me, hence the confusion.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you, they ended season 2 beautifully. Nothing would ever keep me from watching BATB. In me they have a Beastie for life. This show, cast and crew will always hold a special place in my heart. I will be patiently waiting for season 3...NOT.
ReplyDeleteYou lot are hard to please. I thought it was great. If you kept up from season one, the storylines would have made sense to you. Loved it. #Beasties.
ReplyDeleteEveryone is entitled to a opinion, hun.
ReplyDeleteI agree with some of what you say-definitely more action, faster paced, edgier, but I disagree that we got more of some characters-the only one we got more of was Gabe.
ReplyDeleteThis episode was written before they knew there was aseason three so, they wrote it with some closure so that fans wouldn't have a fit. Beasties are campaigning to get back what was intact in season 1. I loved this episode, love the paralleling of past and present and the symbolism of Vincents blood on Cat's hands and not repeating past mistakes.
ReplyDeleteThis show was written before they knew there was a season 3, so it was written for closure, so that there wouldn't be pissed off fans like SC and TTP. They kinda left it open with the men in black, just in case. But again it was mainly written without any cliffhangers and like the fairy tale would end. I personally loved the story parallels and symbolism.
ReplyDeleteThis show was done prior to S3 renewal, so they didnt know there was a saeson 3, so they wrote it mostly to give fans closure. Nothing liked P'd off fans. I loved this episode, but I guess everyone has their opinion.
ReplyDeleteWasnt going to say it but I think TV is saturated with fast action heroes. I'm not into those kind of shows, so even with all the promos, and they are promoting it a lot, I wont be watching it. Again it's a matter of preference
ReplyDeleteI agree with you in some parts ...but I have have to disagree on others --- JT we got a whole lot more of him // even if he wasn't in some episodes like you said -- the ones he was in .. he took much more time than he did in the first season ... as for Vincent and Catherine - think about it , this season they took completely different paths for a long while - so they got to see what happens if they choose to be apart aka what happens when they are completely diferrent ( meaning Vincent being more of a beast and Catherine getting herself out the crazy world of beasts ) ... something that has lead them to one thing --- they can't be apart and they're finding themselves when they are together ( that's growth ! - I think ) .... as for season 3 GOOD NEWS ! :) Mr. Brad Kern has already given us the theme of next season and he said it's gonna 'vincat centric' --- more romance and relationship stuff ;) ;) ;)
ReplyDeleteI like this 'genre' ... it's not my cup of it but i like it ... and it looked really good through the promos // up until i saw the episode :(
ReplyDeletethey had rupped first --- they learned about renewal weeks later ... that's why they wanted to give more of a closure than a cliffhanger ( they thought that this could be the last episode )
ReplyDeleteWe all have our different perceptions and likes and dislikes.
ReplyDeletewell now I totally agree with what you said ;) and i also think that they got the message ..especially Brad Kern ..since season 3 it's gonna be more about vincat ;) I really do have faith in them :) i loved season 2 and after what he said (BK) i think i'll like season 3 even more ;)
ReplyDeleteSorry to disagree, but I have seen the other CW shows and they all have the bad person of the week.
ReplyDeleteThe finale was written to please fans in case the show did not get renewed to give fans closure.
ReplyDeleteSo there you have my long winded explanation Elle.
ReplyDeleteMe too! :)
