Thanks to Nirat Anop for the heads up.

Emmy nominated Cara Buono (Mad Men) has been tapped for a heavily recurring role on CBS’ Person Of Interest. Her character is described as a femme fatale who’s uniquely qualified to navigate the new world order of Season 4 of the procedural drama,

  1. Very interesting. We have enough computer nerds (Root & Finch), we have enough super agents (Shaw & Reese), we have plenty of enemies (Control & Greer/Decima/Samaritan) so what are we missing? If she's "uniquely qualified" and a "femme fatale" I'm betting she's Spetsnaz

  2. Interesting. I can't really see her role now (I mean a "femme fatale" is would require a male victim as a counterpart and neither John, nor Harold seems to fit into this shoe), but I was very pleased with the way Nolan and his team twist the story, so wait and see.

Femme fatale doesn't necessarily means she'll set her eye on a single target. A femme fatale is simply cunning, deadly, and manipulative. My bet is she is working for Decima but I'd imagine her target might be Root rather than Finch/Reese.

I think they kinda have to give him a bigger role. In the end of the season he was the only main character that The Machine didn't see as being a threat to Samaritan. Having Fusco being a lifeline in the monitored world can only help them.

  6. Love how they cast the show, with not just actors who're genre favorites (Michael Emerson, Amy Acker, Carrie Preston, Kirk Acevedo, Saul Rubinek, Nestor Carbonell), but even those with theatre/character actors (Boris McGiver, Camryn Manheim, John Doman, Clarke Peters, Margo Martindale, Brennan Brown)

  7. "A femme fatale is simply cunning, deadly, and manipulative." - IMHO it's not true. According to this description Root is a femme fatale too. A femme fatale is everything what you said, but she achieves her goals mainly through her "feminine viles" - which are usually the most effective when applied on men. (Though with that many innuendos between Root and Shaw, I don't rule them out in this show.)

  9. And I thought Shaw would be POI's version of Catwoman, but she seems to fit the bill now.

  10. Jonathan Nolan and his brother really made Talia al Ghul seem like the "femme fatale", but in an almost cliche manner, so I hope Jonah does something special with this character.
