On the eve of Comic-Con, Hollywood's superhero dating wars intensified on Wednesday as Marvel Studios and Disney swooped in and laid claim to the May 2018 weekend previously occupied by The Amazing Spider-Man 4.
The move came only hours after Sony announced it was delaying The Amazing Spider-Man 3 from 2016 to 2018 (no new date was set). At the same time, the studio quietly vacated the May 4, 2018, released date previously occupied by The Amazing Spider-Man 4.
Instead, Sony will release Spider-Man spinoff The Sinister Six on Nov. 11, 2016.

Looks like they plan to move to three movies a year. That is not something I'm going to complain about as I get my marvel movie fix that much sooner.
ReplyDeleteI can not cope with 3 Marvel movies in 2017 and 2018, holy shit.
ReplyDeleteWell...there goes the Spider Man movies...seriously, four years until we get another one! I mean I'm glad there's other marvel movies but seriously...SERIOUSLY!
ReplyDeleteWell if Marvel insist on doing three movies a year there better a be a freaking Black Widow movie. Not that I can do anything about it but seriously? If they can't get out a Black Widow movie in the next few years while they are pumping out three movies a year I for one will be extremely disappointed.
ReplyDeleteI think that they should do a Hawkeye and Black Widow team up to give Jeremy Renner and Scarlett Johanssen a little time to develp their respective characters and give them a voice!
ReplyDeleteI'm so out of the loop with the MCU and movies in general. I have yet to see Thor: The Dark World and Captain America: The Winter Soldier. I would like to see more of Hawkeye and Black Widow. Maybe one of these days we'll find out what happened in Budapest.
ReplyDeleteThis is just brilliant! Can't wait to see what they'll announce for the next few years at this Comic Con. Hope we see an Age of Ultron trailer, maybe an Ant Man teaser, a Daredevil teaser and casting announcement for Dr Strange, Black Panther and Captain Marvel.
ReplyDeleteI don't just want to see them calling dibs on these dates, but I doubt we'll get a ton of info this year.
Yeah I definitely think Jeremy Renner/Hawkeye deserves more than what he got in the Avengers (which Whedon has confirmed for Age of Ultron), but it would be great to see him outside of those two movies.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed the second one more than the first (mainly because it didn't have the weight of Raimi's trilogy so close behind it), but I'm sure Spider-Man will appear in the Sinister Six - I just intrigued why they're making this now and not building more towards it through Spider-Man's perspective.
ReplyDeleteYeah I think we may get confirmed dates/titles for the 2016/2017 films and that's it for now. If they all got announced I might explode (in a good way!)
ReplyDeleteYou have to see The Winter Soldier it is so good, I liked Dark World but TWS took the franchise to another level.
ReplyDeleteI think maybe they are worried about Spidey fatigue, yes it did well at the box office but had a huge critical backlash so are taking a break for a while, I will be interested to see how Sinister Six is received.
ReplyDeleteI agree, their comic history together would lend itself for a perfect team up movie.
ReplyDeleteCouldn't agree more.
ReplyDeletethere is hope for Black Widow/Hawkeye partnership movie.....perhaps pre-Avengers/before fall of SHIELD
