Glad Brett/Ward will be in SHIELD a lot next season but I still don't think he was a villain (he's responsible for his own actions but John Garrett abused him until the day he died and more people need to realize this instead of placing all the blame on Ward). So excited for season two!
I am really disappointed in the EPs in how they made such a big deal of Felicity's backstory. And now it sounds it will be just an episode arc. They could have easily incorporated it in S2 if it was just an episode deal.
I prefer it when they drag it out to a certain extent. It gives us something to come back for. That was my problem with Sleepy Hollow. They basically told us everything in the Pilot. There was nothing to keep me coming back for more.
I am also very interested in Felicity's backstory. Wish I could say the say the same about Laurel's story arc, but I'm not because this character never really captured my interest. I'm dreading yet another meta episode for Supernatural. If "The French Mistake" was any indication, this show should take a pass on another meta story. Supernatural can give a wink a nod to its audience without being so in your face about it like TFM. I am really excited about Castle coming back in September. It looks like Castle will be found and things will be on its way to returning to normal by episode 2. My love for this show has grown with each season and I think Castle has really hit its stride.
Honestly I wished for it to happen in S2 as well, but it wasn't the place to be. It would feel forced and a push over so now from this point of view it's the right time to tell her story when the episode can have consequences and not be pushed under the rag. I look forward to Fel's backstory since she became a member of T.Arrow, and they were teasing it all the time and now I hope it will be really good. With Mom or Dad appearing and be some DC world character, or an ex BF be an evil mastermind. Now the persons they'll introduce can stay and have a long term effect on the story, in S2 they would be forgotten so the Slade story culd be told.
Yeah but the way Marc put it it sounded it will be just 1 episode, and for me its really annoying since that was one of the things i was looking forward in s3. They promised it was big story and now it sounds more like just 1 episode deal. Unless they will have Felicity's parents appear on Flash and Arrow i am not sure how they can make a compelling big story out of it.
I hink they meant that the flashback to her previous life will be just 1 episode for now, maybe one later in the season. I wouldn't like them to over push it with the flashbacks either. They should rather introduce characters from her past throughout the next season(s) and not make it a 2,3 - 5 episode arc.
They did mention her back story as a lighter side story. Maybe the backstory will be only one episode and then her estranged father will come into her life in the present.
How cool it will be if STAR labs' Harrison Wells is her father. I know it won't happen but my Felicity fan heart can hope.
Yes at the beginning of season 2 it was said it will be lighter, but by season end they were saying its big and that they knew already in season 1 how it would play out. But they also know to keep changing their mind.
A lot of people assmed Ted to make an appearance and that he is behind hat Daniel casting call. But now with B. Routh cast as Ray Palmer I think that role is taken. My wish would be Hal Jordan but that is really really unlikely. But let's see, I hope just the story gets the proper development and enough screen time.
Truth, that is why I am scared about He Flash. After all those guys they announced today I'm like they are trying to hard. The hing tha made Areow so good is simplicity, and last season they were loosing themselves at moments with the Suicide S ep and Birds of Prey ep. So I hope they tone it down a bit with he Villains and focus more on the characters.
Wasn't every one expecting Ted Kord/Blue Beetle as Daniel against Felicity. I mentioned Ted Grant as he is a boxer with monicker wildcat who trains BC in one version of comics. But I thought Ted Grant is supposed to be old. Now with the mention of new love interest for Laurel, maybe they are introducing a young version.
Me too. I don't want too many flashbacks for Felicity. I am more interested in her present life. Give her a friend or neighbour outside her crime fighting life and Oliver. Like Joanna and Dinah is for Laurel, Walter is for Thea and Moira, Lyla and Carly for Digg, Sin is for Roy and Sara. Felicity is the only one with no external attachment outside Oliver's world. Bring her estranged Dad. Make him a villain or a recurring character. These are the things I mostly want for Felicity.
I have a fear for that too. Last season is the prime example of how a show can be underwhelming even though it had so many exciting episodes. They lost themselves by overdoing things and their characters suffered. But this season it looks like they have solid plan. So I am optimistic.
POI: Woah! How did I miss that POI spoiler about Cara Buono????? Glad she's not with Decima, but I have no idea who she could possibly be. I know we kind of need new villains, but she could easily be a Zoe-like character, except maybe with some computer skills? This show has a lot of strong woman. Looking forward to seeing where she fits in!
Sounds like an interesting storyline for Garcia this season on "Criminal Minds". I'd kinda like it if this season further explored some of the stresses the team had been through this past year-JJ being held captive/all her secrets coming to light, Reid being shot, Garcia shooting someone, how's Hotch doing after that health scare, etc. And considering the guy who played Rossi's old military buddy passed away last month, I wonder if they'll pay tribute to him at some point, too. That'd be nice.
I wonder if she is in connection with Elias? She would fit into his organisation and I expect him to come back with more screentime now that the Team Machine has to work on a more lowkey level.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteNew love interest for Laurel, some who will teach her to fight? I hope it's someone villianous to drag a bit to the dark side.

ReplyDeleteI hope you right, just sometimes these writers lose themselves in the shiny pretty DC universe instead of actually working on their characters.
