Updated 11th July: Carter Bays has denied the following report from TVLine.
I don't know why I keep reading articles about this, but since nobody bothers asking us: We are really, truly not working on HIMYD anymore.

HIMYD was fun to work on, terrific cast, terrific writer, but it's over now and we have other stuff we want to do.

Maybe in the future it could be something, but I think we need to try something new before we go back to it.

To everyone who wanted to see it, I'm sorry. (And to everyone who didn't, you're welcome!)

(Oh and by "terrific writer" I of course meant @spivey_e who is indeed terrific and Craig and I miss terribly!)

According to the insider, the project will be redeveloped by 20th TV for the 2015-2016 TV season. I’m told HIMYD cocreators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas remain invested in keeping the Mother franchise going, and the pair have a lot of boosters at CBS (namely network chairwoman Nina Tassler).
Should Dad get a second chance, a new cast would likely be brought in to replace Gerwig & Co. (all of whom were released from their contracts at the end of June).
