Season 4 picks up "one minute after" the Season 3 finale. Nick (David Giuntoli) is going through an identity-crisis now that his Grimm powers have been taken from him. "If they could cure him and if he could submit to that process, which is going to be horrible -- or at least shocking -- does he want to be a Grimm again?" Greenwalt says. "This will go on longer than the zombie thing [at the end of Season 2], but not just interminably. Long enough to really mine the issues around it."
"Identity" is a big focus of the beginning of the season. "We're going to deal with identity," Greenwalt teases, saying that there will be a new identity-stealing Wesen for episodes 1 and 2 of Season 4. "All kinds of people's" identities will be stolen by a Wesen who is "really frightening and very cool; almost a James Bond kind of thing going on there."
Trubel is sticking around for a while. Greenwalt says he and EP Jim Kouf don't know exactly how long Trubel (Jacqueline Toboni) will remain on "Grimm," but that she at least will be in "the first several." "That's a thing that's going to have to organically reveal itself," Greenwalt says.
Adalind (Claire Coffee) is going to "go through Hell" in Europe. But that's not the last fans will see of her. "Eventually she will rise from the ashes like you've never seen her before," teases Greenwalt. "I just adore her."

Like I say, this arc of Nick without power will during five or seven episodes maybe and I hope no more than this.
ReplyDeleteTrubel must stay forever.
ReplyDeleteThe new Wesen sound interesting. And I hope that they are able to film the Black Forest scenes in Europe.
ReplyDeleteWhy did they drop zombie!Nick? That plot never went anywhere.
ReplyDeleteThe showrunner is one of the only people who like Adalind. Her soul purpose is to wreck the lives of all other characters for the sake of drama. Anytime any progress is made with characters, Adalind swoops in to take it away.
ReplyDeleteAt this point I barely have any interest in season 4. I'll probably give it a try but if this drama crap consumes this season then I might be done.
nick and juliette better be okay and finally get engaged and married
ReplyDeleteWhat ever happened to Nick's heightened senses after him being a zombie? Did that arc just go away simply to move into the arc of Nick losing his Grimm powers?
ReplyDeleteTrubel is an excellent way to move the series forward if they ever decide to kill Nick. Grimm is about a Grimm, so it doesn't have to be Nick from beginning to end.
ReplyDeleteExactly. I don't remember any resolution whatsoever when it came to his heightened senses after becoming a zombie.
ReplyDeleteI bet someone will ask about it at Comic Con, so hopefully we get an answer
ReplyDeleteI'm glad someone adores Adalind but hasn't she gone through enough hell and everyone around her....meaning the entire gang!
ReplyDeleteI know. She is such a creator's pet.
ReplyDeleteI just knew that Adalind was a creator's pet. There's just no other explanation for how long she's been on the show. She should have been killed off a long time ago.
ReplyDeleteDucking showrunner. is going to make Nick powerless just so he could explore an identity-crisis.
ReplyDeleteDoes he want to be a Grimm again? even if he didn't you would let him just go like that, for the wrath of us and by the Laws of the Heroes. Within the show if he did want be human again some incident will occur giving him no other choice then to go back to being Grimm.
Trubel can stay, but with her staying and Nick back to Grimm Mode eventually, bring in more Wesen and some longer big enemy arcs during the season and not just the end. Give the group a respectable challenge for them all.
Adalind would been cool if after in the beginning she lost her powers and was abandoned by her family, she joined Nick's team. But instead she most of season 2 she was doing something on her own in a far away land barely effecting the current state of Portland. But I always liked her because I thought it would be cool if she turned good, but till bring her back in to the main battlefield I don't care as much for her.
And again Duck the showrunner, I know just the type of guy you are from your first paragraph.
It pains me to admit that after last season's stupid finale I'm kinda over Grimm (The whole Adalind Renard had already annoyed the hell out of me and then the finale... too much). I'll wait and see where it goes, but I'll probably won't put it on the top of my to watch list.
ReplyDeleteUgh! Trubel is sticking around. How incredibly annoying. This is going to get boring fast. What about the Captain? No mention of his fate.
ReplyDeleteWas the Zombie ark of Nick's ever get explained? I'm not sure if I missed something but I don't think they really revealed much about that.
ReplyDeleteThe writers said on their Twitter account that his previous zombified state enhanced his already existing Grimm abilities. I hope that comes into play later in the season as we all know there was a reason why Eric had Nick abducted in Season 2 in the first place and we never really got to the bottom of that.
