Ok this news either is really good or really bad. Really good maybe because that means that their relationship would get stronger. Or really bad because if this new protege works better with Sherlock they can cut Lucy completely out of the show.
ReplyDeleteno chance Holmes/Watson will remain partner/friends.......
ReplyDeleteI tend to feel cutting out Watson can only hurt the show. On the other hand if this new character and Watson bond then it would bring new opportunities for this new character and Watson to challenge Holmes.
ReplyDeleteI don't it will happen because Sherlock without Watson will not be the same show anymore.........having a protege can't hurt
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking the same thing about hurting the show. But Hollywood recently has made me really worried. Today (actually 10 minutes ago) i read about the Constantine main actress (right after the actor that plays Constantine) has left the series and they are not recasting the role. And more importantly the new series was centered around her. So in that case I'm not so sure that they would care if it hurts the show or not.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are right.
ReplyDeletethere a chance she could turn bad....
ReplyDeleteI think this is great. I don't think we have to worry about Holmes and Watson splitting because they have such a great chemistry. Even if this new protege has equally good chemistry it can only mean good things for the show. Also then again she could also end up being a villain so either way it makes for good storytelling.
ReplyDeleteLooked up who Kitty Winter was in the Sherlock Holmes canon. Wonder what spin they're going to take on her character.
ReplyDeleteShe's in The Adventure of the Illustrious Client. Hopefully I'll be able to give the story a read before the season comes out.
hmm not sure how I feel about this as it seems good that Joan comes into her own and as long as they don't have Joan and Sherlock having a combative/competitive relationship this could be ok. It could also be ok if Joan and Kitty develop a good relationship that could be good too... I've been happy with the show so far so I'll reserve judgement for now and see where the writers take us
