Episodes will be made available weekly, according to series producer Sony TV. That’s in contrast to rival Netflix’s binge model, in which entire seasons of a series are made available at once. Which way would you prefer it?
As for when to expect Season 6, the only hint so far is that it won’t come before Christmas 2014.

For the love of God, out Jeff and Annie together during this final season or I will end you.
ReplyDeleteI don't watch the show, but I am pretty sure that I read somewhere that the season will premiere in the fall when Yahoo revived it.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. Weekly installments are how I'm used to watching shows as it is, so that works just fine for me.
ReplyDeleteShame we've got another long wait ahead of us, but eh, well, I'll deal with it. Just happy the show's coming back at all, and I look forward to seeing how it all plays out when the episodes finally debut!
That's what the movie is for.
ReplyDeleteBut then Dan confirmed at Comic Con today that the writers wouldn't start work until the fall, so we probably won't see any episodes before Christmas as a result.
ReplyDeleteWe barely got this season, I'm not going to take that chance lol.
ReplyDeleteHard to complain about waiting a few months longer than expected considering we weren't supposed to get anything at all...and I think I'm glad for the weekly installments. Better for my productivity and I don't have to beware of end-of-the-season spoilers popping up everywhere before I watch the first episode.
ReplyDeleteThat's perfectly fine by me. The fact of the matter is we're getting a sixth season, so whenever it arrives, I will be ecstatic!
ReplyDeleteOh man, I was really looking forward to see it on the fall for the first time since... well, for the first time in forever!
ReplyDeleteOn the plus side, it will come out when OUAT is on hiatus, so it'll be easier for me to write (and bring on time) the reviews.
I like the fact that it will come weekly! That way we get weekly fixes of Community and I won't have to devour the whole season at once. I'm really looking forward to see what is going down this season!
Yeah, Yahoo sources said that, but it seems they had to work out some issues so.... midseason, again. We haven't had Community airing on the fall since Season 3 premiered!
ReplyDeleteI don't know, I always felt that they are more like a big brother and his little sister; I'm not completely against the idea, but I rather they remain friends and for Annie to find someone else, because there is one thing I'm really bored of; the Britta-Jeff-Annie love triangle
ReplyDeleteI agree, and it will make my job of reviewing the show easier ;)
ReplyDeleteBig brother/little sister? They've kissed twice and even in the finale of season 5 it was made clear that they have romantic feelings for each other. Annie was devastated at the idea of Jeff and Britta getting married, and as the writer of the episode confirmed, the 'burst of human passion" from Jeff that causes the door to open is because of Annie, not the whole group.
ReplyDeleteNot surprised and I don't mind, lots of great shows air at the start of the year these days anyway.
ReplyDeleteI know they have feelings for each other, but I like them better as close friends than romantic partners; they have a connection that resembles more a family union than a romantic entaglement, there are many episodes where Jeff cares and protects Annie as if she was his little sister, so I wouldn't personaly like that couple, and I actually never have liked it anyway.
ReplyDeleteJeff doesn't have to end up with Britta either, in fact, why does anyone have to get together with anyone? I really hope Community breaks the sitcom convention of having every main character forced to end up with each other and I'd rather all of them find someone outside the study group, just like Abed and Rachel. And even if they don't, that's fine by me, they could find someone after the ending or not. Community is not about romance, it's about the ad-hoc family these guys created in Greendale
And no more Jeff/Britta please. I hate their "romantic" relationship and their will they-won't dynamic has been done to death.
ReplyDeleteLiking them as something is different from what's been canon so far. I wouldn't say there are many episodes where he protects her like she's his little sister. In fact, Harmon has admitted that more often than not they have subplots together because he knows fans will love their romantic chemistry- Debate 109. Intro to political science, Asian population studies, etc.
ReplyDeleteThe reason it's logical for him to end up with Annie is because it's been teased so much including in Basic sandwich, where they made it clear he's got strong romantic feelings for her, and she has them for him, as well. Hard to undo 5 years worth of teasing in just 1 season.
Harmon just talked about this at comiccon. He mentioned that the show is about a group of people who become like a family, but mentioned that they're human beings and human beings fall in love with each other. They're not actually related, so there isn't that obstacle, thank god.
What can I say? I just don't feel it, sometimes it's as simple as that.
ReplyDeleteIf they do end up together then great, at least the love triangle is over, but I'm not completely sold into the idea yet. If it works for the better and they have some amazing character development as a couple I won't write off the idea, I'm open minded about it, but as I said, I just don't feel it. For me it's always been a more one sided crush from Annie to Jeff; sure, he had his moments in which he showed some interest at Annie, but I never felt he felt as strongly about her as she about him, and if they are going to be in relationship that's going to work they have to be on the same page. If that happens, then great, if not... well then it would be a shame.
I agree about Ted and Robin. But not liking it doesn't mean it's not there. That's the point I'm making. I would love it if this show had been like "it's always sunny in Philadelphia" and never featured romance. But it's too late. They've teased it too much including in the season 5 finale. I mean why put that scene there where it's hammered home that Jeff's feelings for the other members of the group don't get it done and he needs to think about Annie to create a burst of passion. Why not end it with just a nice, Jeff/group moment?
ReplyDelete"For me it's always been a more one sided crush from Annie to Jeff; sure, he had his moments in which he showed some interest for Annie, but I never felt he felt as strongly about her as she about him,
"
Basic sandwich. Burst of human passion. Harmon even said there would be a huge romantic development in the end of season 5. That was it. Us finding out about Jeff's feelings.
I said at the beginning I'm not completely against the idea because I know there's something there, my point was that I may prefer another route, but if this one has to happen, then so be it, it's not going to ruin Community for me. I particularly like the moments in which Jeff and Annie feel more like close friends or brother and sister than the ones when they showcase feelings for each others. It's defenitely there, but what's also there is the amazing chemistry they both have as friends.
ReplyDeleteThat part of Basic Sandwich seemed for me to be about Jeff's feeling about all his friends, not particularly Annie- after all he looked at everyone-, but if so, then ok.
If it has to happen then so be it, I started this by saying I rather for it not happen, but as stated above, it won't ruin Community for me
The writer of the episode, Ryan Ridley, confirmed it was just Annie that caused the burst of passion, not the whole group.
ReplyDeleteI'm just so happy the show is coming back, I will gladly wait for Christmas 2014! :)
