USA NETWORK ANNOUNCES PILOT PICK-UP FOR CARLTON CUSE AND RYAN CONDAL DRAMA ‘COLONY’
UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. – July 28, 2014 – USA Network announced today the pilot pick-up of, COLONY (Working title), from creator and executive producer Carlton Cuse (“Lost,” “Bates Motel”) and Ryan Condal (“Hercules”). COLONY joins USA’s previously announced drama pilot pick-ups of STANISTAN (working title) and MR. ROBOT (working title).
“COLONY is a gripping story that brilliantly weaves together an intense family drama in an authentic, yet unknown, world,” said Chris McCumber, President of USA Network. “We are pleased to be in business with Ryan Condal and Carlton Cuse, who is clearly one of the best in the industry when it comes to genre fiction.”
COLONY is a naturalistic drama about a family torn by opposing forces and making difficult choices as they balance staying together with surviving the struggle of the human race. Set in the near future, the story takes place in Los Angeles, which exists in a state of occupation by a force of outside intruders. Some collaborate with the authorities and benefit from the new order, while others rebel and suffer the consequences. A co-production between Legendary Television and Universal Cable Productions, COLONY was written and is executive produced by Cuse and Condal.
The #1 network in all of basic cable for an unprecedented eight straight years, USA Network is seen in more than 102 million U.S. homes. USA offers a powerful stable of dramatic, comedic and unscripted originals. The network also features spectacular live television, a dynamic portfolio of acquired series and the best in blockbuster theatrical films and entertainment events. A trailblazer in digital innovation and storytelling, USA is defining, driving and setting the industry standard for Social TV. USA is a program service of NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment, a division of NBCUniversal. The award-winning website is located at http://www.usanetwork.com

This sounds pretty interesting, although I'm starting to get tired of alien invasion plots.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad USA is still attempting to dip back into sci-fi but this idea seems rather pedestrian.
ReplyDeleteSeems like the wrong network for this or this just seems really odd.
ReplyDeleteThey can keep LA :)
ReplyDeleteHorizon from last year sounded better than this.
ReplyDeleteCuse sure does have a lot on his plate these days... Bates Motel, The Strain, They Came Back...
ReplyDeleteDoesn't sound particularly interesting, but it should be worth a shot.
Stop giving pilots to Cuse, he is the other half of Lost's debacle.
ReplyDeletebates motel is really good.
ReplyDeleteSci Fi on USA, interesting, will watch.
ReplyDeleteThe Strain is too
ReplyDeleteLOST was the best TV show I've ever watched. Sorry you did not enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteThere are some mistakes in your post let me edit it for you: Great, keep giving pilots to Cuse, since Lost was one of the best shows ever!
ReplyDelete;)
Always down for some Aliens.. Hope this one is good.
ReplyDeleteI'll give it a try. But i'm a little wary, after what happened to The 4400. If USA cancels this without an ending, i'll never give USA network another chance.
ReplyDeletestill upset over 4400....time will tell
