Without revealing anything further about the who or why of Castle’s seemingly fatal car crash — other than to say the season premiere picks up immediately afterwards, with Beckett still in her wedding dress, distraught — Amann assures the show’s fans that the eventual impact on Rick and Kate’s romance will be an empowering one.
“We are as committed to their relationship as Castle and Beckett are — they are deeply in love and they have overcome a great many challenges already,” Amann says, “so whatever [has happened] is not going to tear them apart. If anything, it will make them stronger.”

"The Voice" lead in for "The Black List" (even though only a month and a half in time slot), great comedy line up lead in for "NCIS LA" are going to way heavily on declining "DWTS" ratings lead in and upset fandom for "Castle" finale' Season 6 are going to pull at the ratings for Caskett I fear?
ReplyDeleteAm I the only one who thinks the Caskett angle ruined the show slightly last season? A lot of the Caskett scenes felt very forced aside from the Wedding stuff in the final. God I miss the back and forth 'snark' between the two before they became a couple, but that's just IMO, of course.
ReplyDeleteI agree, they never should have gotten together, not as a couple anyway. The engagement should have been saved for the last season and wedding for a 2 hour series finale. But.that's just my opinion and yeah,i miss the snark too!
ReplyDeleteI love the Caskett romance because I like the 2 characters and the 2 actors. Even "snarky" gets old after awhile, but I have noticed that they are more critical of others (like their suspects) so perhaps that is the substitute the writers are putting in. I look forward to the new season with great anticipation and mild trepidation. I think the last episode was so clumsily done (a husband the FBI or Attorney General's vetting process did not find!?!?!?) etc., that picking up from there in a nice tight episode 1 and/or 2 will be a Herculean task -- but they've done it before - and I think we all want it to work.
ReplyDeleteTo each his own, of course. I do love that they got together: to me, dragging it out any longer would have felt horribly forced. But I'd be all for bringing back a little more snark, within their relationship. Getting to enjoy more of the old-style banter without the old angst would be a fantastic direction, I'd say.
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's a "little" awkward when a showrunner suddenly realises after six season that he forgot his title character. Not to mention that beside the 1-2 Mombatross episodes in a season there would have been plenty of time and space to develop Castle as well - if AM would have had any idea about what to do with him. And now he suddenly found those in the corner of the writers' room?
