In the aftermath of this victory, Season Three opens with Arrow now a hero to the citizens of Starling. Crime is down, people feel safer, and Captain Lance even calls off the Anti-Vigilante Task Force. Basking in his success, Oliver believes he can finally have a private life and asks Felicity out on a date. But the second Oliver takes his eye off the ball, a deadly villain reappears in Starling, forcing Oliver to realize that he can never be Oliver Queen – not as long as the city needs The Arrow.

ReplyDeleteAwesome, Captain Lance!
ReplyDeletewho would have thought he now outrank Lt Pike! Lance is one step closer to chief of police/commissioner......
ReplyDeleteMaybe he'll be that by Season 4/5?
ReplyDeleteIs this for the whole season or just the first episode ?
ReplyDeletepretty sure it the entire season at least the first bit.......if it was really episode 1 they should have mention ray palmer
ReplyDeleteYay for Captain Lance, but also, Oliver does what again?
ReplyDeleteBoth confused and excited!
kinda of giving away Lance fate already.......I think Oliver want to have a normal life but some dangerous villain return that force him to be the arrow again
ReplyDeleteI think it's just for the first episode, since it's quite a fitting summary for the premire title, but the ending suggests it could be a theme for the season.
ReplyDeleteThink Lance should go for Mayor! ^_^ Would really suit him!
ReplyDeleteSo Olicity date, Oli can't make it cause of that Vertigo guy, Fel goes back to QConsolidate and bonds with Brandon Routh character.
WHAT.
ReplyDeleteIS THIS REAL?!?!?!?!?!?
IS OLICITY REAL?
IS THIS REAL?
INSERT FANGIRL EXCITED SCREAM HERE.
just before I looked at the receipt ov $8130 , I
ReplyDeletedidn't believe that my sister woz like actualy bringing in money part-time from
there pretty old laptop. . there aunts neighbour has been doing this 4 only
about 22 months and at present repayed the mortgage on their appartment and
bought themselves a Chrysler . see here Cashfig.COM
Yes but I guess you missed the part were it says Oliver can't make his move on Felicity and since the city needs him Olicity can't ever happen.
ReplyDeleteOliver going out on a date with felicity.......looks like the persistent fan-dom won after all!!
ReplyDeleteBut this just means that Oliver acknowledges his feelings. Imagine the amazing frustration of him wanting to be with someone he loves but forcing himself to choose his duty first. THAT would be a blast to watch. Torturous but so good because there will be a good outcome in the end.
ReplyDeleteWhen they say a deadly villain REappears - is that a typo? Because the villain in the premiere is the new Count Vertigo. Although I guess you could say Vertigo itself reappears...
ReplyDeleteWhatever @ Olicity. No surprise that as soon as that happens, crisis arises and Oliver has to drop the idea. They're going to keep dangling the carrot in front of the shippers for as long as possible.
I believe one producer or another did say that Quentin is moving towards becoming the Commissionar Gordon of the Arrow-verse.
ReplyDeleteThe only other deadly Villian I can think of could be Malcolm Merlyn.
ReplyDeleteFinally Oliver, you need 2 seasons to get there :)
ReplyDeleteI´m very happy about this synopsis :)
I couldn't sleep a wink last night being so excited over this news! (Before it ended up here). ALL of this is great news!! Quentin alive and well being Captain. (he's my favorite Lance) The Anti-V act dropped! SC accepting Arrow as their hero!! omg that's the best! I imagine they'll definitely be calling him GA this season. AND Olicity!! AH!!! i'm doing backflips!! Just give me flashbacks of their progress, and everyone else's, of the time jump, so everything we see from the premiere and so forth makes sense. I love Olicity, and BADLY want this to happen, but my feelings on the subject stand firm. Slow build, happening right, and he got to know her on a much MORE personal level before he got to this point realizing his feelings. (definitely knew season 3 was their time called that long ago).
ReplyDeleteI wish they could give us more on Malcolm and Thea, but i think that would be wayyy too much. Maybe it's much too huge to share. Which i don't mind staying in the dark about. Have to leave something to the imagination before the season starts. Wouldn't want to know everything.
Did Pike get demoted, didn't he outrank Lance? Happy that Lance survived and became a Captain (I hated him in S1, but he really grew on me in S2 and I love his relationship with Laurel). Oh great, Olicity is finally becoming more than just fan-teasing. Kinda, because she has a different love interest. *sigh* I'm an anti-shipper with this show, they ruin every romance and managed to ruin Slade with that stupid obsession over Shado and crazy drug (if they wanted Slade/Shado, they could have gone there in S1 instead of Oliver/Shado. Oliver is allowed to interact with a woman that isn't related to him and NOT sleep with her!).
ReplyDeleteNot sure how I feel about Olicity. Guess I'm happy for fans of that ship, but of course it's not going to actually happen, so I guess it's one step forward, two back and lots of fan teasing.
I think that they have ruined Felicity's character with her relationship with Oliver. I don't know, she is always running after him, and I think it would be better for her to find another love interest so she could grow up as a character :)
ReplyDeleteI get that some people don't like the olicity pairing. But when has Felicity ran after Oliver? Yes she has feelings for him but all through season 2 we were never shown her pushing him for a relationship. In fact they didn't even hang out alone together. They were working most of the time. How is that running after him?
ReplyDeletewell the photos of cast already shown him to be back with the cast, so i don't think its such a big surprise. And season 3 picks up 5-6 months after S2 finale. so he would recover in that time.
ReplyDeleteI want to know about Thea and Malcolm too but I think you are right and they don't want to spoil the surprise. It seems there's a time jump of some months so when we come back Thea will probably be stronger.
ReplyDeleteI saw The Flash pilot and they said Barry was in a coma for 9 months. So my guess is that between Three Ghosts and the season finale probably 4 months went by and the time jump is of 5 months.
I'm sooooooo excited for this, I knew you would also be! Go Olicity!
ReplyDeleteI'm not the biggest Felicity fan and I don't ship any couple in this show (personally I couldn't care less about the romance but I'm not an anti-shipper) but I don't think they have ruined her character. She is pretty much the same character only that she got more development in S2.
ReplyDeleteI'm more interested in learning more about her parents and her past than her romantic storyline with Oliver but I don't mind the ship happening as long as it doesn't take too much screentime and they don't sideline Diggle too much.
Oliver and Felicity on a date - finally, can't wait for that!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSO HAPPY. I can see so much angst going on. Particularly excited for Quentin and Oliver asking Felicity out! Like any true superhero story he can never be with the woman he loves because of danger :D It'll be fun to watch.
ReplyDeleteEverything sounds promising. I am excited for the new season. Hopefully the O/F heartbreak won't hurt too much. (Although it probably will :-( But at least we will finally get to see how Oliver sees Felicity)
ReplyDeleteThe villain could either be Count Vertigo or Merlyn. Both fall into that category.
MY JAW JUST LITERALLY DROPPED!
ReplyDeleteOLICITY DATE OMGGGGGGG!
Is this real? I have no words right now.
I think you're thinking too much in cople terms, this is a superhero show, its not a couple's game
ReplyDeleteFirst off I'm so glad Lance is ok and is now a captain good for him, and him calling off the vigilante manhunt good for us :D
ReplyDeleteNow the big news
OLICITY DATE SQUEEEEEEE, it's been like 12 hours since I knew and I can't stop thinking about it, SWOOOOON
Awww sounds great!! I just hope they don't do anything to damage Oliver and Felicity's friendship. It's such a great part of the show.
ReplyDeleteOh look Laurel is ignored again.....*roll eyes*
ReplyDeleteThe time jump is 5 months for sure. I and other fans calculated that like last month. I didn't watch the Flash Pilot. I'm pissed it was leaked. (Stephen is furious about that btw). And i said to myself, i'm gonna watch it when it premieres. B/c it got leaked. the actual premiere will have sh** for ratings, and that pisses me off.
ReplyDeleteF*** yeah!!! I am dying here. When i first heard about this last night. I was flipping out! lol And then sooooooo many scenarios came into my head. OMG!! LOL This is great.
ReplyDeletewhere can I get a photo of season 3 cast
ReplyDeleteOliver is gonna ask her on a date??? Olicity will have a date??? Is this real life??? Please tell me this is not a joke, i need S3 NOW!!!!
ReplyDeleteits on Emilys instagram and Stephens facebook also i think david tweeted it also. Here you go!
ReplyDeleteIt's actually the aftermath of S2. the comic will be like a prequel to s3 before it starts. And i believe that'll be the 5 month time jump/ Which i'm ALLLL for! I need that comic. lol
ReplyDeleteWell i didn't say it'd be permanent. lol But he will have a baby and that'll definitely change things. Unless Lyla wants to pack and leave to Guyam w/o him, he really won't have a choice. Diggle's a family man. His gonna choose his kid over Oliver and Felicity. And they'll most likely tell him to, too. On the bright side, he's not replaceable. They'll be a spot for him when he returns, and this would give Roy more screen time. Making him the character he's well known to be. It'll be fun.
ReplyDeleteCaptain Lance? :-) Way to slip that in there. Not a fan of the Oliver/Felicity date thing. I do not see them as a couple. Their personalities just don't fit in that way and I'd be worried their friendship would suffer. I love them as best friends.
ReplyDeletewow sounds weird hearing all the calmness in starling but awesome and i'm guessing the villain is the new count, wow captain lance wow really thought he died, dang it oliver going to go through the hero's dilemma
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the pic. John Barrowman is the only regular missing from that picture.
ReplyDeleteThis has to be a joke. Now suddenly Oliver wants a date with Felicity? I guess I need to prepare for a third season of Olicity shoved down our throats, like season two wasn't enough.
ReplyDeleteit a date they not together still.......it can be a one time thing and that it........beside they can't be together with Oliver being the arrow
ReplyDeleteSounds interesting. I'm still not sure if I believe that the whole Oliver/Felicity is anything more than fan-service, but I'm happy for their fans nonetheless.
ReplyDeleteAnd yay for CAPTAIN Lance.
Captain Lance!
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't call it shoved down your throat. Overreact much? It's not like he's planning their wedding. Still better than Laurel and Oliver.
ReplyDeleteThey're so teasing you. Prepare to meet Ray Palmer.
ReplyDeleteWow so she's sexually attracted to a guy, and that ruins her character?
ReplyDeleteOh when Routh comes you're going to hate him. Just like Charah shippers.
ReplyDeleteNope. Ray Palmer will be Felicity's love interest. They're teasing.
ReplyDeleteOlicity…gag me.
ReplyDeleteAnd I don't want to have to read Arrow: Season 2.5 to know what happened to Lance right after the season finale. Now all of a sudden he's Captain of the police force. Will we be given an explanation during the series?
Oh don't hate anyone, not ever! Especially not fictional characters, except from Joffrey on GoT, for obvious reasons. And i just googled Charah so, yep, i didn't like Routh that much on Chuck, but i do have a soft spot for comic book heroes, so i think he's going to be fine on Arrow.
ReplyDeleteLol Joffrey so evil. But yeah the fans hated him so much that some even boycotted the show in an attempt to force the writers to get rid of Routh's character. But I am looking forward to Routh as Ray Palmer.
ReplyDeletenot that i want oliver with felicity
ReplyDeleteI bet the comic will give us a explanation but there a numerous theory why he got promoted......all senior officer are dead and he is the next in line
ReplyDeleteI think they are never going to be on the actual date, he's going to have cold feet, then he's gonna hurt her (to protect her), she'll be devastated and is going to engage in a relationship with Ray.
ReplyDeleteI seriously doubt Dig is leaving. I think the viewers would riot, since Team Arrow is the best part of this show, by far!
It really must be a terrible fate to always be the guy who is in the middle of a popular ship. But i don't think the Olicity fandom is going to boycott, they're really excited about Felicity getting some action this season, even if is not with Oliver. Go figure!
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure it's Count Vertigo. He reappears, Oliver chases him down, finally meets him and finds out it's a new Count.
ReplyDeleteSo many people freaking out about the Olicity bit... I'm ecstatic that Lance is alive. It's an interesting difference of preference.
ReplyDeleteFirst and foremost - YAHOO for CAPTAIN Lance! Can't wait to read 2.5 to get the details!
ReplyDeleteI was also excited for "The Date" but then I realized that even if the date thing tries to happen, it probably won't - this new "deadly villain" will preempt the date and Oliver will go back to the "I can't be with someone I care about because of the life I lead" thing at the end of the episode so the date never happens but they at least admit their feelings. And I bet Palmer becomes Felicity's love interest because Oliver needs her to get close to him to find out what's going on so he can get his company back.
Oh no! the writers take all the credit for making her awesomness take a backsit to her atraction to Ollie. We're in the 21st century, she could've been both if it wasn't for the fact that just about every female character that becomes a love interest to Oliver, can only be that. On the second half of the season they did a better job making her both, which she can and she should be.
ReplyDeleteWow I really didn't deserve that rant. I wasn't endorsing one dimensional female characters, I hate that (which is why I despise Elena Gilbert, Bella Swann and really any female character on a Chuck Lorre show), I was merely saying that perhaps you're overreacting, we've heard about the writers' plans for Felicity's past in season 3, we've seen her character be more than a one-dimensional love interest (though I do agree that she should be given more story lines and development apart from Oliver and Team Arrow). Just because Oliver is asking her out on a date doesn't mean she's being character assassinated, yes would it be unfortunate if she was only an object of Oliver's Ray Palmer's affections, of course! But when did the writers ever say that? They didn't, in fact they've said the opposite- they've repeatedly we will see more of Felicity's past this year and that she'll get more story time. I understand if you have problems with the handling of Felicity's character but I don't deserve such a reaction, I'm not a misogynist, I'm a feminist. It is troubling though that every non blood related female is Oliver's bedmate and one point or another.
ReplyDeleteLet me begin by saying I'm so very sorry if that sounded rude, that was not my intention, although now that I read it I understand why it felt that way. It really wasn't you I was ranting to, it was more like to the writers, if there are any misogynists out there, that's them. As you said I hate the fact that every female character they've introduced,, that Ollie's not related to, has ended up being a love interest. I loved Felicity so much, she was quirky, and funny, and inependent, they did such a great job fleshing her out, even with the restricted screen time she had, that when season 2 started and she felt more like Oliver's cheerleader than the character I'd come to love, I was infuriated. I mean, we were promissed a background last season and all we got was, what? a few sentences to Diggle? So when I read about that date, in the description, which is so obviously fan service, I was... agh!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm very, very sorry, and yes you're absolutely right, I'm quite likely overreacting. they will probably back track on that one, just like when Ollie slept with Laurel, It's just that their track record speaks for itself, and even though I love Arrow, they don't know how to write women or romantic relationships succesfully. And again, SORRY!
Thankfully she was. No one apart from you and maybe 5 more people care much what Laurel is up to this season. As a matter of fact she should just disappear within the first 5 minutes of the new season and never come back. No ones going to miss her except for you and those other five people.
ReplyDeleteF felicity Oliver and Laurel always and foreven and to the person who said Laurel only has five fans we are a pretty big fanbase also, plus Brandon route great another superhero that cannot actor he is just like stephen amell cannot actor go katie you are my Queen.
ReplyDeleteNo problem. I completely understand you grievance, they haven't given Felicity any story lines so far (unlike Thea, Moira or Laurel) which made sense when she was a recurring character (though Sara in season 2 kinda refutes that argument) but she has been a regular for a season, so yeah it's pretty bad. But hey hopefully they'll rectify it next season.
ReplyDeleteI think they will give us Felicity's back story though don't know why we have to learn about her posterior. :)
ReplyDeleteIt may not be what you think it is. He asks her and of course she agrees but in comes the big bad guy and ruins everything.
ReplyDeleteI agree that Team Arrow is the best part of the show. I feel that Oliver will be hesitant. But he will ask her. But the date won't happen b/c something terrible will go down. and he'll want to make it up to her, and then she'll just try and move on (to Ray unfortunately). and Oliver will struggle with his feelings. But seriously as much as i want them to have a date, i'm more looking forward to him struggle with his feelings for her, AND him actually asking her. I think that would be really fun to watch. haha = p
ReplyDeleteThey can't tell us everything but Katie Cassidy says this episode is really good where her character is concerned.
ReplyDeleteYou're entitled to your opinion but you know what they say about opinions. Laurel is not going away. She is a major part of this show. Felicity is great but she is only in it because of loud fans. I could mention the comic book versions but you don't care about that probably.
ReplyDeleteShe's 26
ReplyDeleteThis person just means there are few especially hardcore Laurel fans. I don't have any one favorite but I like Laurel as much as Felicity. I can't like Sara because of her being an assassin. She doesn't deserve to be the Black Canary if she wants to go back to that life. I know some liked it when Oliver was killing but I didn't. I'm old school. I believe there are more people who like Laurel especially since she redeemed herself in the last few episodes. The only reason some don't like her is because of who she isn't. Some don't like characters with a heart of gold who can beat the crap out of guys which she did a lot in season 1, some in season 2 and what were going to see in season 3 you are not going to believe. Say goodbye to the damsel in distress.
ReplyDeleteHe actually said because of what we do not just himself. So if Felicity is still fighting crime with him she is going to have difficulty in any relationship. Only way for Felicity to have a normal life would be to leave the crime fighting business but that's not happening. I think she likes crime fighting more than sex or at least her priorities are ordered that way. I think Felicity is going to really discover who she really is what she wants this season. Is she like most people or does she want to be a crime fighter with little or no possibility of a romantic life?
ReplyDeleteYay for lance and good for felicity although I thought I read somewhere she was getting a boyfriend...anyway whatever happens I am loving this show well done:)
ReplyDeleteI know that but since he is cast in a recurring role of 15 episodes,by the end of the season,it's olicity without any doubt.Brandon's character will be out of the picture by then!!
ReplyDeletewell Ray Palmer is planned to appear in 14 episodes, don't know if those include the Flash, since Ray Palmer was also a mentor to Firestorm. I think they gonna connect the both shows with lots of crossovers.
ReplyDeleteIt's always a matter of opinion, we all perceive characters diferently. But I'll say it again, it was mostly the first half of the season, she was handled better the second half, although it could've been done even better.
ReplyDeleteHow much screen time they gave to Sara is one of my main problems with season two. I'll start by saying I'm not a fan of the character, mostly because the actress can't act to sabe her life (although her action scenes were ok), there wasn't one emotional scene were she manage to make feel... well anything (except for her scene with Laurel in episode 21/22, I don't remember exactly, but that was more due to Katie than Caity). And the fact that stablish characters were sent to the background to give her story more prominence, only adds to my dislike of her.
But it's how he treats her - almost like his real younger sister, Diggle treats her in the same way.
ReplyDeleteanyone want to guess what could season 3 voice over...it probably be similar to season 2 but friend with mother.......
ReplyDeleteCaptain Lance...I kinda like the way it sounds, even if I prefered some "Commissioner Lance"... Think about it, "Captain Gordon" sucks, related to "Commissioner Gordon"
ReplyDeleteYeah I have to agree, Caity Lotz was very underwhelming in any scene where she had to handle emotion (she's not bad action wise though), and I really don't get the love her character gets from fans.
ReplyDeleteHopefully they will use it to do a crossover.
ReplyDeleteHe probably will, so maybe it'll happen.
ReplyDeleteSomething about Oliver being a hero.
ReplyDeleteI honestly believe that most of the love for her comes from the hate the majority of the fandom feels for Laurel. It's what makes the most sense, they just thought of Caity as an acceptable replacement for Laurel, one that wouldn't eradicate the black Canary storyline.
ReplyDeleteThat's probably true.
ReplyDeleteWhen did she say that? I know she said it was a page turner. That could apply to anything. And according to James Bamford the premiere is insane. Wow......#Arrow episode 301.......insane. Wow. Hold on to your booties kids....you're in for a bumpy ride......
ReplyDeletehe will be probably at least by season 4 or season 5......
ReplyDeleteSorry for such a late reply. My internet gave up on me. *ugh* I see lot has been discussed on this topic. I will just give my opinion. I am not an Olicity fan. I was really against it in season 2 beginning. But all through season 2 they showed a growth in feelings between them and I want a result to what I saw on screen. I just don't want it to be a tease.
ReplyDeleteI am Felicity fan first and foremost and I feel she suffers due to this Olicity angle. People only consider her in regards to Olicity whether they are Olicity fans or not. They completely ignore every other thing she does and reduces her to a love interest. Felicity might have had some scenes with Oliver that might be considered romantic in season 2 but she did lots more than that. We saw her belief in what they do grow from season 1 to season 2 exponentially. She put herself out in path of danger multiple times (broken dolls, state vs queen, blast radius etc.) She struck a friendship with Sara and was kind to her. She backed Diggle against Oliver in episode 2. She was disappointed in Oliver when he revealed Sara's existance. She argued with Oliver when he misbehaved in Blast Radius. We see that Oliver turns to Diggle whenever he needs to discuss his actions of the past as he believes Digg would understand that more. But he always turns to Felicity when he has a moral dilemma in the current timeline. They even teased her background. But only thing everyone focuses is Olicity. I feel its the fans and non fans that reduce her to love interest not the writing essentially.
I agree they could have given a life outside of Oliver and Diggle last season. But which character except Lance family and Oliver got a development last season? Digg had 2 episodes last season and was a shadow rest of the season. Even that 2 episodes gave deadshot more of a development. He is a special forces veteran he needs to see more action. They completely butchered Roy's training and progress. Thea was hardly there and everything happened around her. Moira was a mess. That mayor storyline was stupid. I thought Felicity was treated better than Thea, Roy and Moira. But I will agree I hated Time of Death with a passion. I have made myself believe it never happened.
