1. Season 3 is all about identity. - Apparently, a number of characters will be questioning their identity. Guggenheim broke it down with each of the main characters and their identity questions:
2. ”Oliver has one woman in his life this season, and that is Felicity.”
Stephen Amell said those exact words when talking about the “big things” that are going on between his character and Felicity. “That doesn’t necessarily mean that they’re together,” he elaborated. But it sounds like all of the stuff that went down between Felicity and Oliver in the Season 2 finale (him telling her he loved her, was that real, etc?) will be addressed in the premiere. We will get “an abundantly clear picture of how they both feel about one another.”
3. Merlyn will be around a lot. - John Barrowman’s a series regular and Marc Guggenheim says he’ll appear in at least 18 episodes. But he’s not the big bad this season. “The fun of Season 3 and Malcolm’s presence in it is the unexpected ways that he’s injected into the story.”

Laurel - Am I Laurel, or Am I my sister?
ReplyDeleteBe yourself Laurel. I don't think it will go over well with the audience if she just took over Sara's life.
I am starting to truly fear for Felicia.
ReplyDeleteIt may not happen today, tomorrow, or by the end of season episode but I'm thinking they may end up killing of our favorite IT girl in a horrifically chilling death once she and Oliver really begin to heat up.
As we 'know' Laurel and Ollie / Arrow and The Black Canary are suppose to end up together in the end so the show may follow canon and at some point Felicity will have to go or there is a possibly they'll go their own path.
I agree but it's a lose-lose situation anyway. If she stays true to character viewers will just bitch about Laurel like they normally do. If she tries to become like Sara people will complain that she's trying to be someone she's not or that it's a shallow attempt by the Arrow people to rehabilitate the character... or people will (mis)use their favorite buzz word and say that everything that Laurel is doing is "forced."
ReplyDeleteinteresting info about ARGUS......hm change of boss hmm.......
ReplyDeleteMG basically hinted that he thinks Felicity & Oliver are in love and that they danced each other for 43 episodes. The interview was posted on tvfanatic
ReplyDeleteSA was also quite sure that the S/O and L/O relationships are dunzo. I don't think Stephen would make such a statement lightly.
if EPs would consider her as Manhunter it could work i think. Sara/Caity Lotz had gathered quite a fanbase and if Laurels story is in any way connected with either Sara dying or giving up the Canary role for Laurel, it wont go over well.with the audience. The mistake of EPs was to gives an amazing Canary with Caity Lotz.
ReplyDeleteWith a 6/7 month time jump, I give it 15 minutes of the premiere before Lyla is no longer in charge due to her pregnancy.
ReplyDeleteI think peoples favorite is fan-pandering. When i hear that i want to throw stuff out of the window.
ReplyDeleteIt's sad but true. Poor Laurel has no way out, most viewers will criticize her no matter what. As a matter of fact even if Katie did an excellent job and the writters actually gave her a decent storyline, everyone will complain about her, a great part of fanbase is dead set on not giving her a chance.
ReplyDeletethe real question is what happen to Waller!
ReplyDeleteI for one hope they'll go the oldfashion way and he ends up alone. And I would love to see the reaction of certain part fanbase! That would be fun, lol.
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw this on internet I was really stoked I wanted to discuss this here.
ReplyDeleteLaurel - Am I Laurel or am I my sister? - Isn't this the million dollar question? If she simply becomes next BC there will always be comparisons with Sara. If she do not become BC she will still annoy most of the audience. So be better BC than Sara.
CH in a comic con interview said Laurel plays an important part. She is not really a part of Team Arrow but she keeps meddling in other people's business and is trying to uncover more secrets. This statement does not bode well for Laurel. Unless its Sara's business people are going to be so annoyed with her.
Team Arrow using ARGUS resources - Felicity might get new toys to geek over. This might come back and bite their butts in a later stage. Also Team Arrow will be forced to stand against RAG by ARGUS.
Lyla may or may not be head of ARGUS - Is it a new player coming? Its my head cannon that Felicity's (manipulative)father is a huge ARGUS figure and he left her and her mother for the job and is keeping tabs on her discretely. Make it happen show.
I am excited for Sara/Nyssa backstory.
ooohhh. Andy is shady. WOW. Didn't see that coming. I am excited for Digg this season.
Roy's solo mission might be him trying to protect those cop's families he killed. Penance maybe?
Ray Palmer is totally going to use her skills for his secret mission with QC Applied Sciences Dept. He is definitely going to respect her talent and intellect more than Oliver.
Atlast Oliver is going to sleep in a proper bedroom and not foundry. This is progress.
So many goodies in this article:) Seriously excited for Season 3. Now the most important question is with all this plot lines and a dramatic Hong Kong flashback and Ted Grant have Arrow producers yet again chewed more than they can swallow. Will they do justice to all these characters?
Yeah, I'm not a fan of that one either. Fan service/fan pandering is one of those terms people love to throw around simply because they dislike something or they're not the particular fans being catered to.
ReplyDeleteI think Laurel will become BC whether people like it or not. By bringing in Ted Grant they have almost confirmed this. Comic fans will flip if wildcat will train Laurel and then they make her Manhunter. They would have brought in Mark Shaw if they were going to make her Manhunter.
ReplyDeletePersonally I think the only way to make her likable is make her another version of BC. Don't kill off Sara as Sara has died enough times in this show already. Make the sisters team up and protect innocent people. Unlike Oliver who goes and finds crime bosses, Team Lance can find and rescue people already in trouble.
She's definitely a hard luck character.
ReplyDeleteWhat they need to do with is find the right motivation for her to become a version of BC. That will be the key i think how Laurel will be perceived.
ReplyDeletefor ARGUS it could be Steve Trevor like in the comic new 52......but doubtful as he is a WW love interest
ReplyDeleteI know some of the Laurel hate is unnecessary like when they ask why would Laurel butt in this that etc. But can you blame the regular sane audience who dislike Laurel. They had two seasons and the character could not connect with the audience even once. That is one season too many. No story line of her was pleasant to watch. The blame lies in both the writers and the actress. You can't force people to like a character they just does not enjoy watching.
ReplyDeleteNah. They won't bring in WW love interest. BTW what happened to Waller? Did she get fired for trying to level Starling City? Is it bad that I want her to get fired for that?
ReplyDeletedoubtful she got fired as she has a high security clearance.......she probably got promoted.......
ReplyDeleteI think by the interviews I have seen they have firm plan for this. And I sincerely hope whatever they do this season works. Its time the show did something good for Laurel.
ReplyDeleteooohhh. More power for Waller. That is definitely not a good thing. But why would they change ARGUS head from Waller in the present time? Couldn't it have been better if Waller was the main player in the flashbacks and present time? Is it getting a bit crowded with this many chatacters?
ReplyDeleteI think it actually has to be good for the audience to accept it. I don't want to imagine what will happen if it doesn't work out.
ReplyDeleteI hope it ends with Oliver's death and we see Conner taking up his father's mantle as Green Arrow.
ReplyDeleteStephen once said he wants Oliver to die when the series end. I like that idea.
The best thing that the producers can do for Laurel and the actress is to come out and say they are going to make Laurel BC by end of season 3. They can keep the fate of Sara a mystery if they want.
ReplyDeleteThere is always an anticipation of Laurel becoming BC whether you are a Laurel fan or not. They should go full steam ahead with it. I believe people will be a lot more forgiving once she dons a mask and saves a few innocent lives.
I like that scenario, because they can't make her BC by killing off Sara people would hate her even more, besides she won't be as convincing as CL so she needs to find her own persona and not take over Sara's.
ReplyDeleteWHY?!!
ReplyDeleteKC will never be as great as CL. But I don't think lack of stunt knowledge will be an issue. Look at CH. Dude would not do the smallest of the stunts. He had a crappy story arc last season. Yet people accepted him just like that after he put the mask on.
ReplyDeleteAs always, that's relative. I've come across a lot of people who not only connected with her, but like her. Sure, they're not as loud as the haters, but they never are. I'll be honest, I'm not sure I like her. I liked her back in season 1, and I really tried to like ner in season 2, but it's all the haters that make me want to defend her, lol. Yes, I have then tendency to root for the underdog.
ReplyDeleteThat said, in my opinion Katie's performance has been a combinations of hit and miss. She's had, some good performances, but most felt anticlimatic and that I blame solely on the writers, who either failed at placing and pacing her scenes, and/or writing them.
I'll never understand the CL love. Sure, she's a good believable BC, but te girl can't act to sabe her life. I swear I cringed every time she tried to pull off an emotional scene, she looked constipated...
ReplyDeleteI agree about CH but people accepted him because they didn't compare him to anyone he was his own self and people accepted him gradually, I for one wasn't a big fan of his at first (and I really hated him on Teen Wolf so that didn't help) but that changed, unlike KC because CL set the bar so high so people will compare and that won't be fair to KC.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. People will always complain about the posibility of Laurel becoming BC, but once she does and there's nothing that can be done about it, they will accept it and move on, because, let's be honest, there's no point in dwelling on something you can do nothing about.
ReplyDeleteI like that option too!
ReplyDeleteMaybe I should have mentioned KC will never be as great as CL in action sequences. I agree CL is a bad actress. I have always said that. But Sara even with all the bad decisions and killings still has a compelling back story which kicks butt of Laurel's "Oliver cheated on me with my sister and she died and came back" back story. That's why people like Sara better. Not because CL is a better actress.
ReplyDeleteNothing is fair to KC at this point. The least damaging thing to do is make her a version of BC fast or write her out of the show (which is not going to happen) . They have danced around this issue too long.
ReplyDeleteI agree with that, but then we haven't actually got a Laurel back story. Maybe this season we will, now that they've said that everyone will get flashbacks and not only Ollie and those with him on the island or Hong Kong.
ReplyDeleteOne can only hope... otherwise they may as well kill her and get it done with.
ReplyDeleteBut still what will they show as Laurel's backstory that they have not shown yet. Nothing that can top Sara's backstory of meeting Nyssa and joining LoA which they are going to do this season. The writers retconned her backstory and damaged Laurel more last season by saying Laurel stole Sara's chances with Oliver. Completely unnecessary and what the hell were they drinking while writing that?
ReplyDeleteExactly. I dislike Laurel like any other person in this fandom. She annoys me and I don't want to watch her and I might still not like her once she becomes BC. But it will definitely be better for the character than what is happening now.
ReplyDeleteLaurel is not going anywhere. If she becomes BC and gets a purpose I might be able to tolerate her more. But the current situation needs to change asap one way or other.
Not only unnecesary, but I never understood why that was supposed to make Sara look better. I'm sorry, but what did Laurel do? She stole what chance? for all we know Sara could've been nothing more than a one night stand. Truth is that if Oliver had been interested in Sara, he would persued her more and outside the party scene, otherwise he wasn't really serious about her. I swear, I never got what they really aimed at with that, because in the end Sara slept and tried to actively steal her sisters BOYFRIEND, not her sister possible something
ReplyDeletePersonally I would say Katie is equally responsible as writers for the fate of her character. After SA in this show, KC gets the most opportunity to emote. But she misses the mark regularly. Look at the season 1 episode where Dinah came back. That was the first episode for Laurel to be completely away from Oliver and be her own person. But KC's acting was awful. We should have felt for Laurel parents kind of left her as her sister died. Instead at the end of the episode and her speech I felt bad forcQuentin and Dinah. Laurel simply left me cold.
ReplyDeleteLaurel and Thea is supposed to have almost a sisterly relationship according to the show. But whenever there is a Laurel and Thea scene there is no warmth.
She has never made me sympathize for her except for ToD in season 2 where I wanted to punch Oliver and Sara. But that was my anger towards them. The sympathy turned to annoyance the very next episode. Call me a hater l will never love her. Damage is done for me. But I would like to tolerate her on screen.
I can understand that, we're all aloud to like/dislike whater character we want, but in my book you're not a hater unless you actively bash a carácter, if you don't you're just excercising your right to freelly express yourself, lol.
ReplyDeletein other news Katie looks great in the scribber

Anyone else thinks that Sara will die on episode 2?
ReplyDeleteThat would be a cool full circle type thing, and similar to what happened in the comics.
ReplyDeleteI really thought/hoped they were killing her last season, but now I kinda like her. Still, if she makes it past this season I will be surprised.
ReplyDeleteWhat the producers have said is that Laurel is on her journey and tney have indicated that Sara has a limited time on the show by some of the things they have said. My guess would be if Arrow lasts 5 seasons then it would have had Sara as BC for 2 seasons and Laurel as BC for 2 seasons. So they'd be even. I feel like they are really trying to get the Sara story (including an episode with her name) over and done with quickly by focusing more on her than they did last season. Last season it was more her relationship to her family rather than about her. I think Sara fans will like what they see but come the end of the season it could be different.
ReplyDeleteI'm not really into that genre but if Katie played the Black Canary like that on Arrow wow that's all I can say. Hard to even recognize her including her voice.
ReplyDeleteThe producers say they like Caity Lotz and that may make some think they are keeping her on for good but they also seem to like other actors like Colin Donnell and his Tommy character is gone as a present day character. I think they're going to give her a whole series worth of screen time in the short time she has left. She definitely won't die in episode. They already have 4 episodes booked for her to be in it.
ReplyDeleteThank god Felicity will be the only woman in Oliver's life this season. I do not ship Olicity, in fact I find the more rampant part of that fandom VERY annoying - but, it's about time they cut it out with the Oliver harem. It's not doing any of the female characters on this show any favors to frame all of them as Oliver's possible or actual romantic or sexual partners. The Lance sisters, in particular, can only benefit from their gross love triangle with Ollie finally being dead and buried. So yeah, while Felicity isn't my pick of a love interest for Oliver, the most important thing is that they just pick one love interest and stick with it. Also, interesting that Felicity's "identity" issue is whether she just has a crush on Oliver and is part of Team Arrow or is her own person. This was one of the most problematic aspects of last season, but if the show acknowledges it and frames it as Felicity trying to define herself through Oliver/the team because of her own issues, that's a positive step. Last season it was treated like it was normal for Felicity not to have a life of her own, which was the problem.
ReplyDeleteManhunter doesn't sound like something that would fit Laurel's do gooder by the book personality. She knows how to use a gun but she only uses it to save lives (her own and others) but never for revenge or retribution. I think what we'll see in the beginning of the season (first episode at least) is that she will be letting Oliver do the catching and she will prosecute them but soon after she will see that things are getting out of hand and criminals are getting tougher and she'll want to help but she'll know she needs to better prepared physically and this of course will lead to her becoming her own version of "someone else, something else".
ReplyDeleteThat sit down between EPs, writers and Stephen most have been quite an event. I wish it was filmed. And it makes me realize that Arrow staff is in need of more female writers.
ReplyDeleteAnd I think everybody will benefit from closing a chapter on the sister swapping.
There are always over-the-top people on both sides of the fence. Just as it's wrong to always hate on Laurel, blame her for everything that's wrong with the show and never give her a chance, it's wrong to always defend her and claim that anyone who doesn't is a "hater" who just complains about her unfairly.
ReplyDeleteI can say that some of the complaints about Laurel are silly and reek of fans having it out for her no matter what (for example, she only dares to set foot in the foundry and people go "OMG, she ruins Team Arrow, she treats Diggle and Felicity like shit", she shoots Oliver's bow once - at a wall - after Oliver explains on-screen why it's possible and people blow a gasket over how she's a Mary Sue who can do anything without any training, etc). They would not complain about the same things if other characters were doing them. However, there are many valid criticisms of how Laurel's been written (and KC's acting) and those should not be dismissed as automatic hate for the character. I found Laurel a badly written character right from the pilot, before Felicity existed or there was any other reason for bias against Laurel: she told Oliver to rot in hell over what he did to her, then a day or two later, at his homecoming party, not only apologized (understandable) but said she's there for him if he ever needs to talk to someone. What what WHAT?! Normal human beings don't experience such major changes of heart so quickly, so Laurel, right off the bat, came across as unrealistic and hard to relate to.
I can also say my biggest problem with the character, especially in S2, is her cold, bitchy, snarky attitude towards others. At least half of her scenes involve a put-down or some disparaging remark to another character - often her father, who has been nothing but good to her as far as I can see and tried hard to look after her during her downward spiral. It's for that reason that I honestly didn't have much problem with Laurel after she started recovering: she simply became nicer. I think that as much as some people are dead-set against the character, Arrow will find that many fans react much more positively to her if she just starts displaying more warmth and kindness. Such characters are much more likable. I know scenes like her hugging Oliver after she figured out his secret and saying "You mean a lot to me" or telling Sara she wasn't irredeemable cast Laurel in a much more positive light to me. And I frankly don't understand why she wasn't written that way in the first place, considering she was a legal aid lawyer who found her calling in helping the underprivileged.
They rarely kill off a character who is so massively popular. It would result in a ton of backlash from fans and some may stop watching. Although, I don't know if the social media fandom that's completely crazy about Felicity is representative Arrow's Nielsen viewers (many of whom probably tune into Arrow for the DC pedigree). But they did promote Felicity from a small recurring character to a main cast member and one of Arrow's two closest allies because fans loved her so much.
ReplyDeleteBy the same logic, given the massive backlash against Laurel and Laurel/Oliver (even if they do have their fans as well), I imagine they must've rethought the idea of making that pairing endgame. The show is not a slave to the comics anyway - you could make a very, very long list of things they've changed, and some of them aren't so minor. Oliver doesn't have a sister in the comics, for one, even if Thea is based off the existing character of Mia Dearden.
That tidbit confused me, because I never got the impression that Lyla was head of ARGUS to begin with. I thought Waller was in charge and Lyla was just an agent, or is Waller actually in charge of something bigger? Because she's definitely Lyla's boss.
ReplyDeleteStephen Amell didn't have a background in action shows before Arrow nor was he into parkour like Caity Lotz so I think Katie will do just as well. I think it's just a bonus that Caity Lotz has prior experience in certain kinds of stunts beyond fighting (punching and kicking which Katie Cassidy has done before like on Supernatural). But the trainers they have are good and Katie will do well just as Willa will. I mean if Willa can do it any one can. I hear even Jessica de Gouw even does her own stunts on Arrow and she's not exactly known for action stuff.
ReplyDeleteI am SO down for Sara/Nyssa backstory, that would be interesting as well as provide further insight into the workings of the LoA, which is needed with Ra's being the next Big Bad.
ReplyDeleteI didn't understand the statement about Lyla no longer being head of ARGUS because I thought that was Waller's job, and Lyla was just an agent.
I'm excited to learn the truth about Andy and the contract HIVE put out on him - it SO didn't sit well with me how Digg started researching that in the end of 2x06, and we never heard about it again. That makes no sense! The fact that Digg, Thea and Felicity have their own storylines this season is promising. The show really needs to alot more time to its regular characters, half of whom were in the background without anything to do last year, and less to DC cameos.
Because I am evil inside. *insert evil laugh* LOL.
ReplyDeleteSo far there is exactly two storylines for Laurel I liked...one was her relationship with Tommy (not the parts which involved Oliver, only the parts which were about those two only) and the relationship with Sara, to be precise the very last scenes they had together. The former was blown away in quite a spectacular fashion by the writers, the latter will be ruined the moment they decide to kill off Sara, too.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I think they have a better chance to recover Laurel as a character (if that is even possible, so far they only made it worse with every turn) if they would remove her from the romantic storyline with Oliver, and allow her to grow on her own for one season or two.
ReplyDeleteI also liked Tommy and Laurel together - she lit up around him, unlike the doom and gloom dance of she and Oliver. They were a cute couple and I thought Katie had more chemistry with Colin than with Stephen. Their breakup and Tommy dying did not do her character any favors (especially the *manner* in which Tommy died, but that's a different story altogether...).
ReplyDeleteAgreed. It's time to stick a fork in (romantic) Oliver/Laurel once and for all. It's just bad, bad, bad in every way, from the whole cheating with the sister fiasco, to the lack of chemistry, to the fact that being Oliver's love interest has never done wonders for the portrayal of any female character on this show. For there to be any hope of Laurel becoming a decent character, the writers must first remove the romance-tinted glasses and figure out once and for all who she's supposed to be as an individual. And once they do, please portray accordingly that on screen, i.e. don't tell me she's a wonderful compassionate person who pursues charities and then show her as someone who bitches and snarks at whoever talks to her.
ReplyDeleteIf they're going to kill her it won't be until later in the season. There is good melodrama in her dying/sacrificing herself against Ra's Al Ghul who (through the LoA) 'created' her. Winter Finale maybe, unless that will be too Flash vs Arrow focused. Or something like Moira's death to kick of the final bundle of episodes.
ReplyDeleteWaller is, but after her plan in the finale, it makes sense that ARGUS have replaced her as head of ARGUS.
ReplyDeleteI kind of like Felicity as the only LI for Oliver for this season. Not because I think Olicity is endgame or anything like that. This progress will validate every interaction that happened between Oliver and Felicity last season. Otherwise it would all have been a tease. And anything which will drive a nail on to the Lance sister Oliver Saga coffin is very welcome.
ReplyDeleteIf I remember correctly the disastrous Time of Death was penned by two female writers. God, I hated that episode for all the females in Arrow Sara, Laurel and Felicity. Its not female writers they lack. Its the ability to come out of CW romance saga they lack.
ReplyDeleteThat's occurred to me, but then, it's kind of silly to say that Lyla is being replaced as heads of ARGUS when we haven't seen her have the job on screen in the first place. It's like we're going to come back from the break and just be told, "Oh yeah, Waller got sacked because of her plan in the S2 finale and Lyla took over, but now she's being replaced too."
ReplyDeleteSara/Nyssa backstory has so much potential. With LoA coming in this story has so much relevance. I want to know has Sara ever crossed path with Malcolm at Nanda Parbat?
ReplyDeleteAbout Waller. I think she was fired for trying to level Starling city last season or she has gone undercover to fight against the league.
I am so excited about Diggle. Andy being a bit shady character is the best thing I have heard. This season it looks like they have a better plan for all the characters. Now the issue is will they be able to pace it right? Or will we see one character in an episode and miss them for several others? Are they capable of handling this many storyline?
I agree. Why not replace Waller in the premiere episode?
ReplyDeleteI think Lyla will be replaced due to her pregnancy. Looks like whoever is replacing Lyla is going to provide Team Arrow with new resources.
Whatever they do for Laurel, they need to do it right and do it fast. She needs more warmth and be less uptight. Someone really needs to tell KC strong does not mean uptight. Relax her a bit and show us her motivations. Why she needs to help people? Finally move towards her being BC and stop dancing around the issue. And while at that someone should find KC a good PR rep. Her interviews suck.
ReplyDeleteFor me where Laurel is concerned its disappointment after disappointment.
ReplyDeleteThe only episode in season 1 I liked Laurel was the episode where Laurel and Tommy keeps a little boy at their home for protection. I saw Laurel falling in love with Tommy that episode and I understood her and liked it. Everything else in season 1 about Laurel was irritating to me.
In season 2 I rooted for Laurel in ToD. That was not because I loved Laurel but I wanted to punch Oliver and Sara in that episode and for the first time I felt sorry for her. The other scene I liked was the last episode Sara/Laurel scene where Laurel reveals she knows Sara is Canary. Loved it.
Other than these two nothing else interested me about her.
I was so annoyed by her by the time season finale rolled out when they showed the bow and arrow scene I was rolling my eyes. Its the building up of irritation that causes people to have irrational anger towards her.
Ted Grant declaration gives me hope. But they need to establish her motivations and need to help people again in the show before making her a masked hero.
People are saying Manhunter because of the DA thing and the blackmailing she did last season. The black mail was so against the personality of Laurel and she did that because she took Huntress's quote to heart?? That darkness thing is what making people guess manhunter for Laurel.
ReplyDeleteI really don't think its a prerequisite that you should know to do stunts to be a masked hero in Arrow. That's what stunt doubles are for.Look at Colton Haynes. He does not do even the basic stunts in the show. They still pull it off nicely. KC will do nicely in action sequences. But here the problem is about comparison. By bringing CL as canary they have pushed KC to a permanent back foot position. She will always be compared to CL because they will both be different versions of same super hero.
ReplyDeleteWhat I don't understand is what did they accomplish by doing this. There was no need for that dialogue in that episode. They gave pre episode interviews saying Sara will reveal a secret to Oliver. When I saw the episode I was like that's it. That's the big reveal? In my opinion it did not do good for either Laurel or Sara. How is what Laurel did - even if she did it with malicious intends - be compared to Sara sleeping with her sister's boyfriend with whom she was planning to move in with. Its mind boggling figuring out the reasoning of writers.
ReplyDeleteHmm. Could be. The writers are first and foremost comic book fans. They might tweak it a bit. They might change things like romance which is not working. But I doubt they will refrain from making Laurel BC.
ReplyDeleteWhen they introduced Sara they had no plans for making her this big character. AK once said in an interview before mid season finale they were thinking of making her Ravager. That all changed because CL was loved by fans (even comic book fans) and was called best portrayal of female super hero ever. She has a big fan base. So I think we will have two canaries by the end of this season.
In addition, it just occurred to me that Lyla broke Protocol by going against Waller in the finale, even if she did it for the right reasons. So it's odd that whoever is above ARGUS in the chain of command would give Lyla a promotion after that.
ReplyDeleteThe majority is male though, but you are right the 2 worst episode of season 2 were written by the same female writer who wrote Time of death. I want to be all girl power you go girl but i just cant. When they produce stuff like that.
ReplyDeleteThis is typical TV "strong female character = bitchy, cold, doesn't take crap off anyone" syndrome. The "tough chick" archetype is so annoying, not least because she's often not really tough at all, she just likes to give attitude to people. You only need to look at Felicity to see that strength isn't mutually exclusive with heart and kindness, and people tend to respond much better to such characters.
ReplyDeleteI don't think in KCs case is just bad PR rep. She needs to prepare herself for certain answers regarding Laurel which to this point she doesn't know how to answer. If she is not sure who Laurel is she should go to the EPs and writers and ask or make suggestion regarding her character. We had several cast members come forward who said they went to the writers to discuss some decision and even brought in some ideas that the writers listened to and incorporated in episodes.
ReplyDeleteYeah. I thought she would die cause the 2nd ep is called Sara. Also, since Ra's Al Ghul is going to be the Big Bad, I thought Nyssa would also die making him mad at Sara and Oliver (for some reason he would be involved in the dead) and killed Sara.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I edited my post after I read she's recurring for at least 3 episodes, but I still think she's dying this season. Anyways, maybe they can come up with some different story line for her that doesn't interfire with Laurel as the BC
ReplyDeleteJ.R. Ramirez cast as Wildcat
ReplyDeleteExactly! I think they believed it would make Sara look better, since she betrayed her sister and all, so if in turn her sister "betrayed" her first, then they would be even and Sara wouldn't be such a b*tch. IMO they failed monumentally, not only it didn't do anything for Sara, but it also made Laurel look worst (not to me, since I don't think their actions can even be compared, but to some it did)
ReplyDeleteI kinda wanted them to kill her off at first too, but by then she grew on me, with her mask on of course, without it not so much, lol.
ReplyDeleteit is a bit disappointing that even with all those new info......not a single info about captain Lance but everyone else is mention
ReplyDeleteI can see that lol
ReplyDelete
