I am so excited for season two I can't even. And Ward didn't kill the dog - that was Garrett all the way. And he wasn't Hydra either - Garrett abused him and Ward was loyal to him as a result, not to Hydra. The redemption arc is going to be great.
Start working at home with Google! I just got paid $7500 working off my computer this month. I disagree. Ward's personal loyalty was to Garrett, but since Garrett worked for Hydra, so did he. He was loyal to Hydra as a subset of his loyalty to Garrett.
And it's funny to me that we're discussing whether or not Ward killed a dog to determine how bad a person he is, when the guy literally dropped his two former teammates into the ocean to die (the fact that they survived doesn't lessen his crime).
Remember that Ward is the one who captured them in the first place. He could've turned a blind eye to their presence if he didn't want to harm them. I don't remember the line about the pod floating so I'll take your word for it, but FitzSimmons were surprised to survive even falling into the ocean (not drowning/suffocating without oxygen in the pod) given the impact of the fall from such a height.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

Garrett would have killed FitzSimmons if they stayed on the plane. In a way, Ward saved them because the pod was supposed to float (per Fitz).
