So with Phil Coulson now being the head of S.H.I.E.L.D., the Avengers still don't know he's alive?
"That's a complicated question. One might assume, but you can't assume anything, and they have their own movie that exists…" Whedon said, with his brother, of course, directing Avengers 2: Age of Ultron to come out next year.
"At least on screen so far, that hasn't happened," Bell said.
Will we be seeing Fitz (Iain de Caestecker) sooner rather than later?
"That's a good question. When last we left him, we didn't know exactly what happened to him. We just know he's alive," Tancharoen teased.

Guh, I'm so excited they start filming tomorrow! Comic-Con and behind the scenes pictures will keep me happy until the show's back.
ReplyDeleteAnd come on, the Avengers have to know about Coulson! I also can't wait to find out something concrete about Ward and Fitz.
They haven't been part of the Marvel universe for very long but they have really mastered the non-answer.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I know they have to be careful about spoilers and I do dislike it when producers give away too much, but this is going too far in the other direction. This interview is worthless (no offense to the interviewer, of course). You can't answer every single question with the likes of "maybe" and "that'd be cool". I'm pretty sure they did not say a single thing that wasn't obvious at the end of S1.
ReplyDeleteMy own speculation since they seem to be giving the best non answers are that Fitz was given the blue alien goo of life but it messed him up in a way. He'll be alive, obviously since he still on the show, but his reaction will be way worse then Coulson's whose wasn't a great reaction either. I'm thinking they've never used it on someone's brain wired like his or a genius brain. That is just my personal theory I am sticking with till they stop giving vague answers which I don't see happening any time soon.
ReplyDeleteSeriously "he's alive". Well yeah anyone who watched the finale knew that because they even said at the very end of the show he was breathing and alive. A lot of their answers so far have been super vague to the point of ridiculousness. "The team is alone now and starting from the ground up" um, yeah because they even made that point at the end of last season with the new Shield location being revealed.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking about that too since Fury saved him.
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of when I was in university - there was this TA we used to send questions to about papers we had to write, and if we asked: "Do we have to address [x] in the paper?", her answer would always be: "You only have to address it as far as it's relevant." LOL. The answers these producers are giving are about as insightful as that.
