Moira and Alison, both of whom died so shockingly, they'll be missed :(
ReplyDeleteWell, I think Allison (Teen Wolf), Moira (Arrow) and Wells (The 100)
ReplyDeleteMoira and Conrad. Both were among the best characters and portrayals on the show.
ReplyDeleteCarter from POI was very unexpected since she was a really important member of the team , also Moira from Arrow was another unexpected death.
ReplyDeleteI may be wrong, but I´m pretty sure Conrad isn´t dead!
ReplyDeleteMoira of course it was so unexpected and heartbreaking and Alison's death as well.
ReplyDeleteMoira, Carter and Will Gardner
ReplyDeleteWill Gardner (The Good Wife) no one saw that coming!
ReplyDeleteJames Novak - Scandal
ReplyDeleteCarter's death on Person of Interest was a real shock as well
Nothing can really beat Will Gardner this year in these regards I think.
ReplyDeleteCarter of POI was a real chock...and Moira's death was brutal
ReplyDeleteAllison, Moira and other for Damon Salvatore (TVD)
ReplyDeleteI don't even watch The Good Wife and I caught wind of how surürised everyone was. That must have been one awful death.
ReplyDeleteYeah, you´re so right!! Didn´t expect Damon to die.
ReplyDeleteJoan Carter - Person of Interest
ReplyDelete*Joss
ReplyDeleteWill Gardner of course!!
ReplyDeleteIts so rare when a characters death is kept under wraps it usually gets leaked weeks before. Kudos goes to them and Will!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely Will Gardner, Moira Queen, and Allison Argent.
ReplyDeleteMoira from arrow !
ReplyDeleteAidan (Revenge)
ReplyDeleteWhoops, I had Lucy Liu on my screen when I wrote that comment, lol.
ReplyDeletethanks for submitting my poll. Sorry for leaving out GoT (read the books and well surprise deaths are a given) and also forgot Bitten (also read the books, but I was suprised by Antonios death), could also have added Strike Back.
ReplyDeleteWill Garder, James Novak (Scandal) Mika (TWD) Carter (POI) Moira Queen, Nicholas Brody (Homeland) and Allison (TW)
ReplyDeleteMoira and Allison both died very brutally very emotional scenes they will be miss Aiden even though I didn't like his character that much also other Will Garder that death didn't see coming I was shock and heart broken at the same time
ReplyDeleteMoira, Allison and Conrad.
ReplyDeleteThe only show I watch anymore in all of this is The Originals. I knew that the hex on Father Kieran couldn't be reversed, but I didn't expect him to actually die. I assumed that his character would leave the show to be in a mental institution indefinitely- making him a reason why that coven of witches has to go.
ReplyDeleteI really liked Sophie Deveraux. In spite of her differences with Klaus, and her reasonable desire to protect her niece, I thought that Sophie would have made a good love interest for Elijah at some point. She had a lot more humanity than the other witches, and she was willing to take risks and betray her coven to do what was right. I wasn't satisfied with Julie Plec's explanation for killing her off.
Tara- Sons of Anarchy. It was harsh and brutal. All of the ones I mentioned surprised me but only two left me stunned. Tara and Will.
ReplyDeleteWill Gardner. What a shock!
ReplyDeleteDamon won't be really dead as every other character on the show. I hate how much the producers have played with death, that when one character "dies", you don't feel anything because you know he is going to be resurrected.
ReplyDeleteWill Gardner's death on the Good Wife was the biggest shocker for me
ReplyDeleteWells on The 100. No way did I expect them to ever kill Wells.
ReplyDeleteThere were a few character deaths in Game of Thrones that I didn't expect because the don't actually happen in the books!Nothing huge,I guess, but still shocking.
ReplyDeleteHe is dead its been confirmed unfortunately.
ReplyDeleteHow could poll omit Will Gardner? It was shocking story wise and kept completely under wraps
ReplyDeleteWells from The 100. He lived in the book and is in the sequel, so it came out of nowhere.
ReplyDeleteAllison. I never saw it coming.
ReplyDeleteAllison and Aiden was obvious
ReplyDeletegood, I have disliked Conrad since the pilot
ReplyDeleteMoira? Allison? Really, people? Am I the only one reading the interviews and stuff? Those two were the most expected deaths this season.
ReplyDeleteyeah I have to admit that when they killed Carter off I stopped watching the show...it was a big let down.. because as you stated... she was a very important part of the team....
ReplyDeleteMoira was most definitely unexpected. Where is the interview that hinted at her death before the show aired?
ReplyDeleteIn Arrow Sara was expected to die or Quentin. Moira wasn't the top bet to die.
ReplyDeleteMoira's death was about as telegraphed as a TV death can be, too. Isabel was more shocking because that story was such a waste of time.
ReplyDeleteWill Gardner on Good Wife
ReplyDeleteSophie on the Originals. I really thought she was going to be a regular since her sister had already been killed off.
ReplyDeleteWhat about Kevin from Supernatural? I was quite surprised when he was killed. Thought he'd be one of the few lucky ones to make it through with the boys like Jody and Garth.
ReplyDeleteout of the ones I've seen, I'd have to say Moira and if they hadn't kept hinting that a "hero would fall" in all the promos leading up to the ep, I would've said Carter as she was such a major character...
ReplyDeleteMoira and Carter !
ReplyDeleteJames and the President's son on Scandal. Wow.
ReplyDeleteSophie (The Originals) I didn't think they'd kill her in the first season.
ReplyDeleteDidn't they just do it because the actress was leaving?
ReplyDeleteEither way, it's very rare for a main character to permanently die. It can end a show asap depending on the character. So when a main character dies I never worry anyway.
ReplyDeleteJody and Garth still have time. Look at them killing Sarah and that guy from season 1 Wendigo.
ReplyDeleteI added one other for Will Gardner on The Good Wife. I totally didn't see that one coming.
ReplyDeleteTakes the cake, for sure. Not only because he died, but mainly because of how it happened. Just an ordinary day at the office and suddenly, someone is dead.
ReplyDeleteAllison & Carter - did not see them coming!
ReplyDeleteHe was an awful person but IMO a great character portrayed excellently.
ReplyDeleteTotally, I thought it was another normal Good Wife episode and then boom wtf.
ReplyDeleteThe first person I thought of before looking at the poll was Wells on The 100. I still miss that character and the fact that a child killed him made it even more brutal. It was at that time I knew The 100 was not afraid to go abyss levels of dark.
ReplyDeleteAt first I thought they were building Derek up so they could kill him off on Teen Wolf or that it would be Isaac since he hadn't done anything useful for ages. It did surprise me that they would kill off Allison but once I knew it was the actress' choice it became easier to take.
The 320 on The 100 were by far the most poignant deaths this season, equally Tommy's death on Arrow last season. It was such a moving episode and it hit me harder than all other TV deaths combined.
Carter's death on Person of Interest was, to us, the least expected. What a shock!
ReplyDeleteWill (Good Wife), So unexpected and shocking.
ReplyDeleteMoira, Allison and Wells!
ReplyDeleteWill Gardner and Allison for sure.
ReplyDeleteWILL GARDNER
ReplyDeleteMoira, Allison (still not over both those deaths) and Conrad!!!
ReplyDeleteI don't think so , even if she was leaving i didn't see any announcement or something and therefore was shocked her charecter died
ReplyDeleteThe showrunners have desperately implied that it was because Taraji wanted to leave, but ... since she jumped right into another series, that doesn't stand up very well. They told her when she sighed that any character could be killed at any time. Then they told her she was going to be killed off. So no, she didn't ASK to leave the show, but she wasn't surprised either. Also Nolan told Tassler that he wanted to bring in his own "Catwoman" (Shaw). And the ratings have dropped ever since.
ReplyDeleteMoira, Allison and Carter, they all came out of left field for me.
ReplyDeleteBeth (The Walking Dead)- just kidding :)
ReplyDelete1. Lizzie & Micah (The Walking Dead)- I knew Lizzie would have to go. But that didn't make it, any less shocking. I certainly didn't expect, to lose both of them in the same day.
2. Oberyn Martell (Game of Thrones)- I haven't read the books yet, so i never saw it coming. I really thought he was going to win. That is, until he started prancing around the Mountain's prone body. I really should know better by now.
3. Carter (Person of Interest)- This one surprised me as well. I thought it would be Shaw or Fusco.
Honorable Mentions: Allison (Teen Wolf)- I knew it was coming, someone spoiled it for me. Because with work, i can't watch tv at 10pm during the week. The spoiler came as a big shock to me. I stop watching for a while to avoid it. I just watched it last Wednesday, and the finale a couple of minutes ago. :( Moira (Arrow)- I saw it coming a mile away. But it was still emotional.
Joss Carter's death on POI was as unnecessary as it was shocking. The entire dynamic of the show changed, and I no longer look forward to watching a program with cartoonish female protagonists. Sad to see the demise of what was once my favorite show.
ReplyDeleteTPH found out about her character's death in early Feb during season 2 (according to an interview she did). If you go back and look at her Twitter posts on that day she talks about having to accept things that be changed and not having a good day. Clearly she was very upset at the news and was venting via Twitter without stating what the problem was. So I don't belive for one minute that she asked to be let go. I think that was just lip service to keep herself employeed in hollywood. Who would ever hire an actress that caused a ruckus about a part she had in the past?
ReplyDeleteAh I see. But it's really not a ruckus if she just says they killed her character off, it happens. An actor/actress can say this without getting heat cause it's the truth.
ReplyDeleteFrom this list....Moira from Arrow! I didn't expect it until the last few minutes it happened!! But even then i didn't expect it to happen a few minutes later. Let me clarify...Once she told Oliver SHE KNEW..I literally said to the tv, Omg they're gonna kill her!! BUT i was thinking ok maybe in the next episode or so, but not 5 minutes later!! Definitely an unexpected death.
ReplyDeleteNot from the list, I wanna say Stefan-TVD...It was the WAY that he died. That shocked me. My jaw dropped and my hands covered my mouth just like Caroline. It was like an "Oh shit, did that really just happen?"
I've only seen 4 of the shows on this list so out of those:
ReplyDeleteThe 100 - Wells. In hindsight maybe I should have seen it coming because the CW often kills of POC (plus the episode he was killed in was the one where he and Clarke made peace) but I wasn't thinking about that at the time and thought they'd keep him on as a main character.
The Originals - Sophie I think was the only death all season I didn't really see coming. I thought they'd keep her around as the witch would would sometimes help out the main characters.
No, it was blatantly obvious.
ReplyDelete''Surprised'' as in ''I didn't think they would do that''. But they did, and they forgot about it two scenes later.
ReplyDeleteCarter's death. That shocked me, and they spent the rest of the season doing things ''in her name'', so it was relevant to the story.
Also, Dr. Chilton's (presumed) death from Hannibal. They made me love that guy in 7 episodes, then shot him in the face and made me love THAT just as much. It was so unexpected and awesome.
Really? I had seen it coming since 1.12. She got killed and I just shrugged. Carter's death definitely though. Even though I kinda knew it would be her after 3.08, that really was a 'Did they really just do that?' moment.
ReplyDeleteYeah, agreed.
ReplyDeleteAs soon as 3.08 was over I went 'Yeah, Carter's gonna die'. I wasn't left guessing on who would die having been spoiled about it before I watched. But despite knowing that it was Carter who died, I must admit that throughout I thought 'Is someone ELSE going to die?!'
Basically everyone knew Aiden was going to die unfortunately.
ReplyDeleteHe had joined the pilot of another show.
He was either dead or leaving. And the way the we're writing Aimily, and that he left like 4 eps before the finale, you knew he was gonna die. But it was a horrific death though. That was the worst, It beat Amanda's, Conrad's and pascals by miles.
And Conrad. Well he was either in jail for the rest of the series or dead, and there's no way the Graysons (and shockingly SPOILER David killed him) were gonna let him in prison alive, to spill their beans. So either it was going to be the Graysons, initiative or David.
As I don't read the sites because I like to be surprised, Dean Winchester's death and consequent resurrection as a demon shocked the heck out of me.
ReplyDeleteVictoria hand from AOS.........no one would expect Ward to kill her in cold blood
ReplyDeleteAllison (Teen Wolf) and Sophie (The Originals).
ReplyDeleteJason was predictable on Revolution.
ReplyDeleteAiden died?
