Scandal, obviously, to see if they could capitalize even more on the show's growth.
ReplyDeleteFreshman How To Get Away With Murder would be my pick but it's not on the list. From the list, Scandal obviously
ReplyDeleteScandal or Agents of Shield.
ReplyDeleteScandal already has high ratings that it could improve upon even further. But I'd personally rather see Agents of Shield get the spot. It really improved after midseason and a post superbowl spot might bring back some of the initial audience.
Agents of SHIELD would be my pick, it's ABC's most male skewing show.
ReplyDeleteAgents of Shield - Scandal is not male skewing. imo.
ReplyDeletePost Superbowl slots don't make a big difference these days... Undercover Boss was the only exception, but it was many years ago and it only happened once.
ReplyDeleteGrey's Anatomy already aired after the Superbowl, I think...
ReplyDeleteFrom the list above Agents of Shield would be the most logical choice, in my opinion. I also think "How to Get Away With Murder" could work.
How To Get Away With Murder or The Whispers.
ReplyDeleteForever or The Whispers
ReplyDeleteAgents of Shield, Modern Family, The Whispers or something else a bit more male skewing. Scandal does not need the help and is female skewing, also last season was terrible.
ReplyDeleteI'd give the slot to a new show, trying for a small ratings boost.
ReplyDeleteIn the list, the shows that needs a real boost is Revenge.
ReplyDeleteI'd put The Whispers to make sure that it doesn't get cancelled.
We know that How to Get Away with Murder will make it.
Just so people know ABC haven't had it since 2006 and looks like they stopped bidding for it as well so this is a purely hypothetical question. Based on their current shows then I agree AoS would make the most sense.
ReplyDeleteOf course this is all hypothetical. FOX, CBS and NBC are rotating the Super Bowl broadcast till 2023 and I doubt ABC will be in the rotation for the next contract.
ReplyDeleteIt would be Scandal of course.
ReplyDeleteBut I wish it was Once Upon A Time.
Once Upon a Time
ReplyDeleteI've always wondered, why is ABC not trying to get in on the Superbowl? (I know they've had in the past). but why not now?
ReplyDeleteI think it would be Agents of Shield. Scandal imo is too serialized. Also, Agents of Shield has the skew advantage (although Grey's Anatomy, with a very similar skew, did just fine back then)
ReplyDeletei think either Scandal or Modern Family
ReplyDeleteI think they should use The Goldbergs, it could tie into the SB theme with SB cameos from back in the day and be hilarious! The show is great and could use the boost!
ReplyDeleteScandal would be a tough sell - it would only work if they could come up with something that was as intriguing as "Code Black," - that certainly made it appealing to the male portion of audience - GA to the SB didn't seem like a soapy drama, but more like a dark hospital drama. Agents is the best choice, but since it's not going to happen for a decade....
ReplyDeleteMy poll! And woops! I added an extra word on the question xD
ReplyDeleteOUAT is normally shown on Sunday. Super Bowl Sunday should be no difference.
ReplyDeleteScandal or a new show
ReplyDeleteAgent Carter gets my vote.
ReplyDeleteIf this were around 2011, I'd say definitely Castle. Last season, probably Scandal, or maybe the premiere of Resurrection. This season, they'd probably try SHIELD.
ReplyDeleteAOS definitely. OUAT is not a show that you can get into by watching a random part especially lately...
ReplyDelete1- SHIELD: Super Bowl boosts haven't happened over the last years, but it is a sophomore trying to avoid a slump and last for a long time on ABC (but the New Girl experience is a warning).
ReplyDelete2- Scandal: would be my first choice if it wasn't a ratings monster alredy
3- How to get away with murder: ABC's strongest new show
I think OUAT Is way too serialized to do well there. That, and the fact that I am not sure how compatible the skew would be. Besides, and this is a smaller argument but I think it matters a bit, I kind of think networks should avoid airing shows there that would only air a week later .Chances are the momentum would be completely gone.
ReplyDeleteIf ABC had the Superbowl in February 2012, then I would say Don't Trust The B---- in Apartment 23 and Happy Endings should get it. But they didnt. If they had it this year, I would say either double episodes of The Goldbergs, The Whispers or How To Get Away With Murder.
ReplyDeleteA double Neighbors episode :-))
ReplyDeletelol at the title ! Is it me or it doesn't sound very english...
ReplyDeleteSHIELD or Scandal
ReplyDeleteAgents of S.H.I.E.L.D. sucks, so I don't know why that's in the lead.
ReplyDeleteBUT, much as how Criminal Minds did it back in season two, I think Castle could have a great Super Bowl-oriented episode right after the big game.
Mmm... A new show?
ReplyDeleteNone of this seem to fit. AoS does, but it doesn't deserve the spot.
Scandal already has an strong audience, i dont see the point. Grey's could be it if it were the last season... i will choose other.. How To Get away with Murder a new show, product of Shonda Rhimes and the buzz from the Superbowl will give a huge hype.... if not Agents of Shield, reasons: Everybody loves superheroes xD ...
ReplyDeleteI admit it... as much as i want Revenge it's too serialized to go after the Superbowl in a 4 season and OUaT is the same
Skandal (to see if they can make them grow more) or SHIELD (to set a stable the audience and make it grow) or a new show (but I don't know if it's good to premiere shows); but one thing's for sure, it should be a two part episode in order to hook viewers up and not to be this years New Girl and Brooklyn 99
ReplyDeleteLots of women watch the Super Bowl, too, though.
ReplyDeleteAgents of SHIELD and/or Once Upon a Time. Of the shows I watch and like, and considering the demo for Super Bowl, I think SHIELD is the show most likely to benefit, in the long-term as well, from this event scheduling.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your poll being selected! It's a good poll, very interesting. Thanks for submitting it.
ReplyDeleteGrey was a beast, it was watched by everyone. Had something like 25 + million people watching. Scandal is not on that level. Not even remotely close.
ReplyDeleteNearly 10 years ago. You have to adjust things to the current ratings level and Scandal is a big hit by today's standard.
ReplyDeleteAdjust some but not by that much....Scandal is a hit but its nowhere near the status of Grey's Anatomy which was at one point one of the most viewed shows around the world. Scandal is not even being aired in some European countries or in a lot of Latin America. In the USA its big but it is nowhere near as big as peak Grey's, not even close.
ReplyDeleteAlso Grey's Anatomy ratings now r very similar to that of Scandal. I like nothing shows but it's hard to argue the fact the Greys's going into season 11 has basically the same ratings of Scandal going into season4.
ReplyDeleteEveryone who didn't pick Scandal is dumb. Sorry, not sorry!
