  2. Going to try it, hope its good because I like the cast and the idea a lot. Oh and if it is good I hope Fox don't mess it up with their usual incompetence.

  10. Going to try it too.

  11. Yes, I look forward to it.

  12. I'm going to try it out, but I fear they will focus on characters and plots they should not (the Batman characters/villains as kids) instead of focusing on those who should be the big players at the time.

  13. No. I'm superhero universe overloaded at the moment. I might give it a go in a season or two.

  14. Ill give it a couple of episodes..

  15. Absolutely, what I like the most is that the main focus isn't Batman (even though is my favorite superhero) and we get to know a bit more about the city and how it became to be the way it is.

  16. Going to check out the pilot

  17. It depends on what fails23 June 2014 at 14:48

I'm going to check out the pilot but probably no, since it is a procedural starring Gotham City characters and the already oversaturated wave of superhero shows (I could accept one on Arrow, but then they've come with TTP, Flash, Gotham, SHIELD, Constantine) believe it or not, the lack of Batman being an important chacter is a non-factor for me to decide.

I can't say I will follow the whole series, but I am going to see the pilot no matter what

  21. It's definitely on my try out list, and I'm hopeful for it to make it to the regular watching list as I like the cast

  22. I voted maybe/will try it out, I'm worried it'll be more of a police procedural and that they'll just tease us forever about the characters' destiny with little to no payoff. Maybe I'm wrong, I'll definitely be keeping an ear out for this one and see what people think before I commit to it.

  23. I'm going to be trying it out as I do with most other shows. I don't often assume it's going to be good. I'm hoping it is though!

  24. Y'all know my issues with the heavy DC nolanization, works for Arrow.
I'll give it a shot, would've preferred them to use the more obscure Burton version of Gotham but I can't have it all

  25. No. I don't like superheroes.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Definitely will check it out. But sticking with it depends on Gordan being a strong enough character to carry normal episodes that DON'T feature Bat villains. A bit worried that it'll just be an average cop procedural with Batman references. Hoping it works out.

  27. I will give it 3 episode to hook me. That's my typical trial period.

  28. Ha! I really don't understand why they mess with the episode order. It makes the show look incompetent and confuses viewers who don't know they've switched things.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I'm not missing it! No way!

    ReplyDelete
  30. I don't know, it really makes no sense but they did it twice this tv season with Almost Human and Enlisted!

    ReplyDelete
  31. I know. ALmost Human was bad enough with its jumpy relationship between the partners. One minute they are working well together, next liek they barely know each other. But what really blew my mind was when they aired that episode of Enlisted where Derrick helps his girlfriend's kid and then what, 4 episodes later, he gets the girlfriend. What the heck was that? There's zero reason to air comedy out of order like that.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Yeah what they did with Enlisted was so ridiculous, audiences aren't stupid they can tell when basic things like that don't make sense.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I don't even have the words to describe the level of idiocy it takes to air episodes out of order, unless a show is 100% non-serialized and has virtually no plot carrying over from one episode to the next, which almost never happens. Since Gotham is clearly meant to be a serialized drama, FOX would kill it without a doubt if they do that.

  34. That's my and many people's concern as well, that it's just another dreary procedural (my god, TV has way too many of those already) masquerading as a cool comic book show by being set in Gotham and name-dropping Bruce Wayne, Jim Gordon and the villains. I can't pretend the Batman connection isn't what drew me to this so in that sense, their marketing strategy is working. I hope I'm wrong and it's actually a serialized crime saga about the origins of the city, that could be interesting.

  35. I know I hate it so much, one thing giving me hope they will be OK with if is that they showed Sleepy Hollow in order, also a serialized show so they are capable of doing it

    ReplyDelete
  36. I Don't want to but, I will have to if it continues.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Yes, I'm so in, the previews look so exciting!!! Can't wait:)

    ReplyDelete
  38. I hope I'm wrong too, but right now I've still got my concerns about how serialized it'll be or if it'll be case of the week with some fan-baiting future-teasing thrown in. I guess I love my comic book shows with more superheroes and villains. I could live with a present day show without Batman (my brother tells me there's a comic/graphic novel just about the police in Gotham with little to no Batman) but seeing all these characters not being who they are yet, might be a bit frustrating,

  39. I want to check it out. I love Ben Mckenzie from Southland of course. It's going to air during the time The Originals airs so I'll have to decide what to watch live and what can wait.

  40. And Mindy! WTF Fox?!?!

Can't image if they had aried SH out of order... my, god! :(

  42. Marinus January24 June 2014 at 23:10

Absolutely the pilot, later will see. Hope there will be a very good and a bit serialized plot, not just a crime of the day for 45 minutes a week.
