There’s a lot to like about Unforgettable. What I really admire about the show is how it integrates Carrie’s miraculous ability (that should, in theory, make crimes relatively easy to solve compared to people without said ability) with several layers of storyline that keep the viewer guessing until the very end.
This episode, like many, relies on this formula. Since the first season, which relied heavily on Carrie’s search for her sister’s killer, the show has moved away from that and vastly improved because of it. The format now is that of pretty much every other procedural CBS have – and as someone who enjoys CBS procedurals, that isn’t a bad thing.
This episode is a very interesting one. The plot revolves around a murder that ends up being connected to a counterfeiting ring. It’s very limited as to how many episode stories can be concocted without showing major signs of repetition, and so very few are actually seen in procedural shows. But Unforgettable does this episode very well.
Combining the usual Carrie-Al partnership with good story made this a very enjoyable episode, and a great way to kick off the new season.
Teasers:
- Jo features very little, though, for some unbeknown reason, is walking with a crutch.
- There is some great interaction between Carrie, Al and Agent Simms.
- “Mexico?”
- “You will not arrest me.”
Unforgettable’s third season premiere airs on CBS, Sunday 29th June at 10pm. You definitely need to tune in.
