Clarke (Eliza Taylors) and Bellamy (Bob Morley) have polar opposite views as to what's best for the hundred right now. How will they overcome these differences and work together?
Jason Rothenberg: I think one of the things that I love so much about our show is that both options usually are bad in terms of any decision and this episode is no different. Whether they stay or go, most likely people will die and ultimately that decision is taken out of their hands. I think one of those things that is certainly true about Clarke and Bellamy is that they've come to respect each other over the course of the season. They've come to recognize each other's strengths in terms of what one does well and the other probably doesn't. Bellamy's more of the physical, rah-rah leader and Clarke is more of the figurehead, the queen. He's her sort of knight, basically.
Raven got shot! How is this going to affect not only her chances of surviving, but also the hundred's?
Rothenberg: That definitely has huge, huge implications, not only this week, but probably if she survives in Season 2. I would say definitely it makes what [the hundred] ultimately have to do one hundred times harder because she won't be able to be the one to do it. That bullet only gets worse and worse over the course of the episode until she's essentially gone.
Murphy used the majority of the hundred's gun powder to escape. How does this affect their battle strategy?
Rothenberg: They had been in the process of building mines and they have some gun powder that they could probably convert from a mine into grenades, so they'll have certain things but not even close to what they need to defend themselves to the force that's coming for them. They're facing an overwhelming numbers disadvantage. Literally. It's not the 100, it's [the movie] 300. The Grounders are coming in such force and with such skill. The warriors that are coming are the worst of the worst. They're screwed. How they get out of this one is a big part of the story we tell in [Episode] 13 and whether they get out of it or not. I think that the thing that we come up with is pretty spectacular and not something anybody I think has seen before.

Good interview - this guy has got it sussed
ReplyDeleteThere's a sneak peek in that article too - go see it!
he's her knight. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat interview. One of the things I love about this show is that there's no really "good guys" and "bad guys". Like Jason said the grounders think they are the heroes of their own story and it's logical that they see The 100 as their enemy. Nobody is right in this situation.
ReplyDeleteI got a feeling Kane will die. It would be his ultimate redemption.
ReplyDeleteI want the three adults to return but so far only Jaha is confirmed to come back ;(
ReplyDeleteSo do I! In the sneak peek, it seems that Kane and Abby are together so I don't hope that both of them die. Abby has cheated death several times now (almost being floated in the pilot, arrested in episode 4 with crimes that are punishable by death, Unity Day bombing, crashed dropship) so I hope she can do so once again.
ReplyDeletei reaaaally hope not. an i'm glad that he and abby will be together as they go to the ground
ReplyDeleteI feel like Kane doesn't really need to be redeemed it's not like he's done anything that bad Jaha would be in the same boat as him.
ReplyDeleteThe population reduction was Kane's plan. Not Jaha's. Yes, Kane is not the only who's to blame for that as the entire Counsil (minus Abby) approved the plan and Jaha ultimately pushed the button. But it was Kane's idea and that's why he is feeling guilty.
ReplyDeleteIf Kane decides to be the hero and stay behind, I will cry, not even gonna lie. He went from being my least favorite on the Ark in the beginning (partly because I thought he was the traitor who tried to have Jaha assassinated) to being my favorite. Besides that, I think they need him. In a way, he's like Jaha's Bellamy.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure the episode will end with the landing and we wont see if they survived or not till next season D:
ReplyDeleteWTH happened to Monty?
I think we'll see a twisty thing or a mystery with Monty in the finale.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I know that but it still doesn't matter and he was still doing it for what he believed to be the greater good but still they both did bad things like killing people who did petty crimes so they're both at fault.
ReplyDeleteI think the show is more likely to kill Jaha then Kane. Then again, I have a sneaking feeling they will kill off Abby.
ReplyDeleteI may be totally wrong on this (I often am), but my predictions for Ark's deaths would be:
ReplyDelete1. Abby
2. Jaha
3. Kane
I think Kane is the least likely to die, I could see him having the most to do on the ground.
Interesting. I think Abby's death would be sort of anti-climatic because she has had so many near-death experiences already (almost being floated, commiting crimes that are punishable by death, not being the dropship that exploded). Jaha had multiple "I am going to sacrifice mysef for the people of the Ark" moments so it might happen for real this time. Still, everybody thinks Jaha is safe because Isaiah Washington has been doing promotion for season 2. I'm still going with Kane, but to be honest I do not want anyone of the three adults to die. In fact, I believe all cast members work together well so I don't want any regular to die but I know it's gonna happen anyway.
ReplyDeleteThat is one of my biggest questions as well. What did he discover at the end of episode 11? And what happened to him?
ReplyDeleteThe actor who plays Jaha is already confirmed to come back. I'm more worried about Kane than Abby. I don't want any of the adults to die.
ReplyDeletei dont think he was taken by teh reapers, i believe there is something more there, i thought that maybe Lincoln had him but he wasnt there DDD:
ReplyDeleteI agree with you about Abby being anti climatic, but on the other hand it would be poetic if she dies on the last episode of the season after she started almost dying in the first one. I am just not sure what sort of storyline they will have for her next year since I am pretty sure they won't extend the Clarke conflict forever. I like her and I don't want her to die but SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER
ReplyDeleteshe has recurring roles being booked in other shows!
End of SPOILER
I can honestly see her arriving to Earth but being killed by the grounders causing a shift in Clarke's perspective about them next year. If something happens that makes Bellamy tolerate them it would be an interesting shift in their relationships and the exact kind of thing I could see the 100 doing
Didn't know that!
