The Scene: The confrontation at the end
Justyna Kubica: If you're not watching the show, you're missing out. It's been such an insane season, but this last episode still caught me completely off guard. I didn't expect how significant and game-changing it's gonna turn out to be. "Any future is possible". Everyone's secrets are out. Liber8 lost their purpose, everything they fought for suddenly lost its sense. It seems like everything they did in order to change the future for the better somehow ended up making things worse. Kiera's family may not even be there. And Alec... Well, Alec's future is quite a mystery at this point. But the news of two Alecs is out there and I'm hoping it's not gonna take long for "our" Alec to come back. "Everything you've done is for nothing". Lucas' breakdown, everyone lowering their guns and just giving up - that's something I really didn't expect to see. And the fact that all the plans were flawed right from the start, the idea that the future can't be changed the way we want to, even if we know so much about it, that it's an organism, that can adapt and change the way it sees fit, it's such a fascinating concept. The moment all the characters realize that there is no best scenario, no perfect solution, no path they can choose that they'll know will be right for them is probably the biggest scene of the show yet. It changes everything. I applaud the creators' creativity and the actors for their strong performances. It was such a powerful moment. I can't wait to see what's next and what choices everyone will make now. Hopefully one of them includes getting Alec back. Kudos!

Jamie Coudeville: I've been waiting for this since episode one. Of course I knew Karma didn't feel the same way (yet) but at least now she's no longer clueless. This scene broke my heart.

The Scene: Ygritte's death
Justyna Kubica: I couldn't quite decide which scene to pick, this one or the moment when a few members of the Night's Watch recite their vows, trying to find a courage to face a giant. I always found the words of the vow to be moving and significant and in that particular scene they felt even more special than they did before. But in the end, I decided to choose a surprisingly quiet part of the episode, Ygritte's death. In the middle of the big battle things suddenly stopped for a second to give Jon and his dying love a chance to say goodbye. And when I think about it, it's more than anyone else got on this show. Such a sad reality, one tragedy after another, but still, so very well done. I really enjoyed the way the entire scene was made, with the melody silencing the battle and Jon holding Ygritte after she passed away, for a moment forgetting about everything around them. The final farewell for Ygritte was beautifully performed by both the actors, from the moment they saw each other till her last words. I wonder if she would actually take the shot if she had more time. Maybe, maybe not. But her hesitation and Jon's sad smile when he noticed her quite tragically captured their story. "We should have stayed in that cave." If only that was an option...

The Scene: Lorna breaks into Christopher's home
Max Conte: Lorna's excursion to Christopher's house intertwined with her flashbacks and the reveal of why she was really sent to prison.

ORPHAN BLACK, "Things Which Have Never Yet Been Done", June 14, 2014, Actors: Tatiana Maslany and more, The Scenes: Kira gives some of her bone marrow to save Cosima & Rachel takes Kira
Jamie Coudeville: You'd think after almost two season, I would know when one clone is pretending to be another. But nope, they totally had me fooled. It wasn't until I started thinking that her accent sounded a lot like Rachel that I got a clue.
Samy Bgs: Kira gives some of her bone marrow to save her auntie Cosima. That was so brave! I really hope Cosima doesn't die.
THE 100, "We Are Grounders, Part 2", June 11, 2014, Actors: Eliza Taylor, Paige Turco and more, The Scenes: The final scene & Abby and Kane land on Earth
Justyna Kubica: I have to admit, I had absolutely no idea which scene I liked the best in the episode. I think it had to be one of the best finales of this TV season and there were so many great moments to choose from. Today I came to conclusion that the most memorable scene, a real game-changer, worth mentioning in the article has to be the final one, when Clarke wakes up in the Mount Weather base, the same one the group was looking for back in the pilot. And it's certainly not what anyone could have imagined. But Monty's there too. So at least that a good news, we missed him! With the remaining citizens of the Ark landing on Earth, the 100's camp destroyed, Finn and Bellamy possibly dead (they better not be!) and the Mountain Men entering the picture it sure looks like season 2 is gonna be quite an amazing story, possibly better than an already great season 1. The show made such a surprisingly good impression on me, I never expected to like it so much, but now it's a must-see. I absolutely can't wait to see what's going to happen next. So many possibilities ahead of us!
Daniel van der Veer: Abby and Kane land on Earth and describe it to Jaha in Space. The 100's first season finale was an outstanding hour of television, and there are so many great scenes to choose from. Since we can only choose one, I will choose the scene where Abby opens the dropship. They landed in a beautiful area, which was a sharp contrast to the battlefield that the 100 found themselves in. She also described the surroundings to Jaha, who was lonely up in space and opened the bottle that was supposed to be opened on Earth. All in all, an excellent ending to a fantastic season! The Scene: Selena and Gary talk in the bathroom
Max Conte: Selena and Gary in the bathroom when she tells him she's becoming President. Gary starts to cry and gets a bloody nose, and while she tries to help him they both laugh hysterically - one of my favorite moments of the season.

ReplyDeleteFor me "Beauty and the Beast" (BatB) scenes with Vincent and Catherine are the best. This week we also had Catherine slapping Gabe and telling him off which was super great.
