  1. GUY CLONES! Did you see her goatee (No Spoilers...........much)? Tatiana Maslany can do anything in front of a camera. It is criminal that Tatiana Maslany and Zoie Palmer (Lost Girl/The Guard) in Major Motion Pictures "RIGHT NOW"................when you see who are casted in movies these days. Awesome episode in a awesome season of a awesome series! 4 THE SESTRAHOOD OF ORPHAN CLONES, I remain Nobody!!!

  2. OMFG!!! So much awesomeness! Guy clones, I agree what can't Tatiana Maslany do? She's amazing. Tony was funny though. But Alison, man, you used my gun, that's all she cared about, she's just awesome.

It was nice to see the humanity come through Rachel, I think she would have wanted children, still no Helena.

My heart broke for Cosima, making her Ethan. I don't know how I'm going to deal with the last two episodes.

  3. By far the worst episode of the series and essentially a complete toss-away for Tat and the writers to follow up on a silly passion project.

As a concept, Tony is pretty fun to think about. But the execution in this episode was just awful. I'm sorry, but Tatiana Maslany just couldn't play it. That was bound to happen sooner or later. Nothing against her; she's amazing. They just found a pointless role that she couldn't make believable. Speaking of believeablity, Tony's whole story was off. I don't know if that was intentional, but it seemed like everything he said was riddled with plot-holes. Not to mention how repulsive it was when he kissed Felix. Even drunk, I can buy that he'd so easily kiss someone who practically is his sister. It was all just poorly executed fan-service.

Most of Cosima's scenes were pretty stupid. Again, just the writers having some fun with ideas that they've clearly had for a while, but nothing that added any true substance to the characters, or plot.

Maybe some of these things would've been fun had they happened at a different point in time. This just felt like an inappropriate time to take a breather from most of the show's usual heaviness.

At least this episode seems easy enough to retcon, and I'm guessing that's what's going to happen, based on how quickly Tony was swept back under the rug. The door is open for a return, but I sure hope they slam it back shut and throw away the key.

The only things of worth in this episode were Donnie and Alison reconciling over their crimes, and Ethan joining Dyad to help with Cosima's research, both of which had far too little screentime.

Let's just please not invent any more clones for fun and to test what Maslany's capable of. There's apparently a limit to what the poor girl is capable of.

  4. I think TM was pretty good at characterizing Tony. He still doesn't seem consistent to me, but I guess it's because he's a bit forced on us and maybe not very well written, not a very round character. So to me it comes down to that. Cosima's words to Delphine impressed me (together with both her selflessness and wiseness); it's not just me, it's all of us. You have to love all of us. It's a very potent message coming from a superior acknowledgement, I'd say religious figuratively speaking, which is what Delph didn't get until now. And maybe it is not fully disclosed to the other clones too.

  5. I am surprised by how much of that I saw coming in advance. Calm before the storm, I suppose.

  6. I'm not entirely sure Tony worked, like it was a great idea and I liked many of his moments but the hair and make-up could have been a lot better really and that kind of took me out of the scenes a little too much. But kudos to the show for having a trans-clone and exploring that path especially as so much of the series is about nature vs nurture and who the clones are.

  7. 2015 Tatiana Maslany will be seen in a bigger movie with Ryan Reynold and Helen Mirren. I'm pretty sure we will see her in movies more often.

    Mixed feelings here.

Tony's plot handling will determine whether the show will rise to a new level or jump the shark.

The episode itself was a red flag.

  9. I wouldn't say it was the worst episode but yea i'm just not really up with the idea of them throwing away their clone ideas like that. Okay we don't know how many there are but if there's a straight one and then there's a gay one, so would it be like necessary that there's a trans one? Like seriously i don't know what they were thinking. This is not what you expect from the creators, they have been setting the standard so high that it's hard to believe they would do something so stupid.

  10. I have to disagree. While I don't necessarily care for Tony he is a woman who feels like a man, Tatiana did a perfectly fine job with it. Also the Rachel and Alison scenes more than made up for the gross kiss at the end which was the only part I thought was a horrible idea.

  11. I think I could have bought into Tony a lot more if he had different hair.

  12. I think my main issue with Maslany's performance as Tony was the voice. During that intro scene with Tony and Sammy, I thought it was Sarah in some silly disguise while deep undercover in some new group that we'd learn about in this episode.

I say that because Tony acted and sounded just as I imagine Sarah would if she were trying to impress a group of bikers. Tony's voice was just Sarah's, but disgruntled. The performance (and look) almost felt like a gag torn out of an episode of That's So Raven.

The Alison scenes were definitely great, but I don't think they quite made up for how much screentime Tony ate up. I'm still pretty meh about Rachel.

  13. I completely agree. If Orphan Black were a show that had a larger number of episodes, I wouldn't be so hard on one that's just there for the cast and crew to screw around. The episode was essentially a joke. Except only those who work on the show know the punch-line.

When it comes to shows that do less than 15 episodes, I really hate when we have more than one or two per season that do nothing to progress the story. Let alone on a heavily serialized show that only does ten episodes. There just wasn't room for this, especially being at the end of the season. Whether or not this was supposed to be the calm before the storm doesn't matter. It wasn't enjoyable to watch. I spent at least half of the episode cringing at how dumb it was. I hate to act like I'm hijacking what should and shouldn't be allowed on other peoples' work, but man, this just wasn't warranted.

Maybe if they broke up Tony's sub-plot, and Cosima's silliness into two separate episodes, things would've been more manageable.

Ahahahaha the voice was the worst! I was just saying to my boyfriend that it sounded like when I'm being snarky & immitating him when he's being stupid.

  15. Definitely, he looked too much like Sarah with that hair, they should have gone for shorter.

  16. With such a talented makeup department, I think the sloppy look was intended to emphasize that Tony is still in transition. I think the next time we see him, he'll be more polished.

  17. You might be right there, the hair really bugged me. Hopefully we will get to see Tony again because I liked what we saw of him.

  18. My initial reaction was, "clone with a hormonal problem? looks like we got ourselves a bearded lady." Tony-in-transition raises some interesting questions, though, which could tie strongly into the plot going forward: does he still have a uterus, was she fertile, and would removing the uterus mean that a clone is no longer suscpetible to their congenital illness? And the bonus conspiracy question is: given that Dr Leekie harvested Kira's tooth, if Tony's uterus was removed as part of the sex-change operation, did it end up as part of the artificial womb that Leekie was developing in his spare time? Which leads to an interesting bodily-ownership question: If Rachel used Tony's uterus to have a child, either implanted or in a vat, can Tony sue for custody?

  19. Tony looks and acts a lot like a guy (straight, married, with kids) in a band I know well. Particularly the hair (long/facial). That may say more about bands I like than anything :p

  20. I think this show just lost me. I'm sorry but Tony didn't work in any way, shape or form for me. This show really grabbed me the first season but honestly it's floundering for me. Too bad. :(
