It really did look like Paul's body from the back.
I'm a little happy that it ended up being Mark, though. I don't think Dylan Bruce has it in him to pull off clones. I think the guy plays Mark is a better fit. Though, Michael Mando would've made an ideal set of male clones.
I know. That's who I thought it was. Military Paul is so regimented its odd, so I thought surely he was a clone. Goodness Military, Paul, Paul in any incarnation is simply, Hott!!!! :)
Definitely agree with you about Bruce not having the gravitas/acting skills to pull off multiple clones. Despite him indeed being HOT I don't miss the character when he's not around. And I kept wondering why we were cutting back to Grace and Mark but now it all makes sense!
But question...are the female clones and the male clones meant to be genetically related? Or was that not explained either way?
I loved this finale, we got a bunch of stuff I've been wanting to see all season. > Auntie Cosima and Kira >All the sisters (and Fe) together >Rachel getting hers >Cosima and Sarah are adorable <3 I love their relationship so much
But poor Helena : ( I feel so bad for her. And WTF was up with the nitrogen container? Did I miss something? I wish we could have seen more of Alison in the break out plot but I'm not actually sure how they could have incorporated her more. Why doesn't Dyad ever ransacked Felix's place/ Pretty sure everyone knows where he lives and knows it's clone headquarters. That place should be burned but I think the writers keep it around because it's such a cool set piece. Finally, I thought for sure they would could back to Rachel and her missing/injured eye. Oh well.
I found myself hoping that the male clone was Jordan Gavaris! I think he would do a great job playing multiples. Mark's new character(s) should be interesting!
I found myself hoping that the male clone was Jordan Gavaris! I think he would do a great job playing multiples. Mark's new character(s) should be interesting though.
Absolutely loved the dancing scene! And congrats to Tatiana Maslany for her second consecutive Critics' Choice award - undeniably deserved. Can't wait to see what's coming up next season! :D
That was a great finale and setup for season 3 (Why hasn't this show been renewed already) . That nitrogen container was probably more of Helena's harvested eggs i'm guessing.
loved it... even though the flow from Sarah's rescue (yay Cosima and assistant guy with the assist and giving Rachel a little taste of payback with the ole pencil in the eye) to the point that the clone club could hang out in Felix's pad apparently safe from Dyad due to Marion and Topside felt just a bit abrupt... loved the meeting of the sisters and theirs and Helena's reactions.... felt bad for poor Helena being sold out by Mrs S/Paul but crazy with the reveal of male clones and creeper Mark is one of them... I wonder how this will develop and if Mark will end up an ally of the clones next season as he and Grace are in Helena's debt and try to help rescue her... and I wonder when sister/brother Tony will show up again as well
I don't know where to begin, but my favorite scene was the Clone Club dance and Helena meeting all her Seestras :)
Rachel had it coming but I'm sad her father killed himself, thankfully he gave Kira that book, I'm hoping Cosima will survive, and the Delphine dream was touching, I hope she returns next season. I was hoping to get some resolution on Cosima, but hopefully well find out next year, which is so far away.
The beginning was heartbreaking, poor Sarah, but smart Kira to phone her father. The first half had me so on edge, thankfully they didn't get anything from Sarah.
The male clones were a little strange but I felt so bad for Helena being given by Paul and Mrs S.
The ending wasn't what I expected. Marion's character is quite interesting, I didn't expect her to help Sarah but I need to know more, about the male clones and this military project. I really want to know why they want Helena, maybe since she's going to have a child, maybe they want to do experiments?
I need a season 3 announcement soon. Sadly though, there wasn't much Alison in this episode.
#0LY $#!T, that was Awesome! Now all we need is that season 3 renewal announcement and we can go to bed happy! After this finale I want a Orphan Black comic book/graphic novel published by DC/Vertigo............David Mack, Neil Gaiman and/or Frank Miller (writers) and David Mack, Travis Charest and/or Adam Hughes (artist)............anyone else? 4 THE SESTRAHOOD OF THE TRAVELING CLONE CLUB, I am Nobody!!!
THEIR WAS A CLONE DANCE PARTY oh my god seriously I didn't realise I needed that until it happen, what a lovely moment between the sisters and Felix. Of course everything else is messed up.
I always wondered why the military wanted to clone women but it seems like they didn't, God Mark is so creepy as a clone especially the one Sarah saw! I think its a good choice for male clones, as much as I love Felix/Jordan it may have been too much and like others have said I don't think Dylan Bruce has the range for it. Good luck Ari Millen you have a lot to live up to!
Loved this episode, the escape was great, good to see Michelle Forbes not play an evil person for once, aww at young sister-clone Charlotte, oh no Helena can not catch a break! Cal sticking around is good on many levels oh yeah, would have liked to have seen more Alison but really her season arc ended last week. Aww at Cosima teaching Kira science and being a general badass despite her closeness to death.
I thought that it was great. I'm not sure I understand why the clones were happy to meet Helena. Hadn't she been killing them all off at the start of the show? Also what was going on with the Nitrogen container before she left? Did I miss something? All in all it was really good and I can't wait for next season.
Awesome! -Cool twist with Mark and nice red hearing with Paul! (Boy clones!!) -Nice twist with Marian and Charlotte too! -Love the little dance party scene (does anyone know what Helena was doing with the Nitrogen tank?) -Oh Mrs. S, how could you do that to poor Helena?! -Kira defenately has some interesting gifts! (and yay for Cosima seeing Duncan's book) -Goodbye Duncan. Was hoping you would stick around longer. -Glad Cal made an appearance, but wish he could of helped another way. - She''l probably just get a glass eye, but how fun would it be if Rachel had a robotic eye or has to where a patch all next season? Go Cosima with her "science experiment"! -Allison shaking hands with Helena was hilarious!
Can't wait till we get a season three renewal announcement! Great finale!!!!!!!!!! XD
What I find amazing about Kira and Cosima is that they've known about each other for so long, been willing to sacrifice themselves for each other, and never met until now - and when they do, they not only instantly bond but collaborate in Sarah's escape. Awesome demonstration of familial love.
The nitrogen tank contains the rest of Helena's babies, the clone embryos that Henrik harvested from her. In the absence of more bone marrow from Kira, they could be used to generate stem cells for Cosima.
Remind me... how far back did I say that there might be a younger generation of clones from the same batch? Excuse me while I go watch the clone dance party again to calm down :)
Hahaha! I would love that. Also think it would neat to see the clones when they were kids/young adults and/or the history of DYAD/Project Leda unfold...
"Loved this episode, the escape was great, good to see Michelle Forbes not play an evil person for once"
Actually her one shot characters in Lost and Alias were generally good characters, but in all honesty, I'm not sure how good she is just because she helped Sarah and Kira out. The fact that she has two clones (mark-clone and a younger Sarah clone) in her house(?), doesn't bode to well if you ask me, especially because of how gleeful she is over the fact that out of (I can't remember the exact number, 4,000?) clones, Charlotte is the only one that made it in the next batch and we see that (for one reason of another: disease or abuse?) she has a brace...There were things she was talking to Sarah about in relation to what part of what company gets to "prophet" and she said something like, if she/they don't, someone else will. I need to rewatch it again to hear the exact wording, but it sounded more like this was economical decision for Marian, as opposed to a moral one, but at least for the time being, she has authority over Rachel...
So just kind of dawned on me, but I forget, do we know why Rachel doesn't remember? I had thought on a few occasions that the girl just wasn't Rachel or that the real Rachel was switched out with another clone for some unknown reason, but I'm kind of intrigued that Rachel is holding onto hers (or someone else's past) like this!
I loved it! It started off slow and, to be completely honest, halfway trhough it I checked online if it really was the finale or there was another next week.
I loved the clone party, It was nice to see them all together. Tatiana once again did an oustanding job, and so did everyone else involved in the scene. It can't be easy to organize / direct a scene with the same actress in 4 different roles and it felt believeable and not cheap (as in "done the easy way") at all.
And I loved the male clones twist. I have been waiting for this. I was REALLY afraid they'd use Tatiana to play them as well, I'm glad they didn't. I liked Ari Millen since the first time he appeared on screen so I'm glad they went with him instead of Paul (Dylan Bruce is hot as hell, but not exactly the best actor in the world) or Felix (the obvious first choice). I can't wait to see how this plays out.
And the younger female clone, that was a nice twist too. I kind of imagined the actress would come back later in the episode in a different context when the camera zoomed for so long on her face in the video, still it was unexcpeted.
Apparently there's a four minute Donnie & Alison subplot which got cut for time, and will be a special feature on the DVDs. And here I was thinking "they ought to do mini-episodes for the DVDs, like the last few seasons of Doctor Who..." :)
I loved the little comforting transference (collective conscience/vision of Delphine) or potential metaphysical aspect Kira was able to give Cosima too!
Male clone are genetically connected because the female clones birthed them. Read up on your Greek Mythology. under Leda the mother of Castor and Pollux.
Because she's one of them. She was killing them off because she was abused, manipulated, and used. She has gone to great lengths to save Sarah multiple times, both in season 1 and season 2. The turning point in my opinion was when Sarah was tied up in Rachel's apartment and Helena had tracked her down and saved her, killing Rachel's monitor. And as Mothman's Dog pointed out already, the nitrogen tank was the rest of Helena's fertilized embryos. I was totally confused about that in the moment as well.
Except that the version of the Leda myth that Cosima told Sarah is not the same as the one we're more familiar with. Also, for that to happen the clone mothers would have to be about Kira's age at conception. Guess we'll have to wait for the explanation in season 3.
Charlotte's (somewhat futuristic-looking) leg brace is probably due to a birth defect. The list of things that can go less-than-ideal during gestation is already long and grim enough for "normal" humans, and with only one live birth out of 400... if human cloning never becomes commonplace this is probably why. Of course, this probably means season 3 will have a Kira-meets-Charlotte/cuteness-explosion scene :)
Finale!! Rachel gets a pencil in the eye! B***h deserved it! Sarah gets Kira back. Cosima pulls through. All good. But please don't send Delphine to Frankfurt, she is French, she doesn't even speak German. Don't like the male clones. Loved it anyway!! Oh but the 1 year Hiatus :`(
I believe you wanted to know if the male clones share genetic material with the female ones? I am saying yes there is the synthetic sequences and the maternal connection.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
I was hoping for Hot Paul as the big reveal not the weird lil creeper boy! :/
ReplyDeleteIt really did look like Paul's body from the back.

ReplyDeleteNeed to rewatch to fully digest this.

Oh, good call about the eggs! I was wondering about that too!
ReplyDeleteI would totally love a comic too! XD (anything to get some more insight and tie us over)

ReplyDeleteOrphan Black: Angry Angel - the untold capers of a clone vigilante. As a suggestion. I mean, Maggie Chen's locker did serve Helena as a batcave... :)
ReplyDeleteRemind me... how far back did I say that there might be a younger generation of clones from the same batch? Excuse me while I go watch the clone dance party again to calm down :)

Yeah, it's the "are they going to, are they...? OH WOW!!!" :)
ReplyDeleteIn one of the interviews the writers gave, they said it might happen! :)
ReplyDeletePeople on Tumblr made this for Rachel.
ReplyDeleteClones of the Caribbean spinoff, anyone? :)

ReplyDeleteIt was a great season finale. I am sad we have to wait another 9 months for Season 3.

ReplyDeleteThanks! Unfortunately I spelled separation wrong! ::face palm::
ReplyDeleteNowhere near as bad as February 30 in an episode of Heroes ;)
ReplyDeleteHa! I have never seen much of Heroes, but I'll take your word for it! I tried to make up for it with another cover of issue #2! :p
ReplyDeleteFinale!! Rachel gets a pencil in the eye! B***h deserved it! Sarah gets Kira back. Cosima pulls through. All good. But please don't send Delphine to Frankfurt, she is French, she doesn't even speak German. Don't like the male clones. Loved it anyway!! Oh but the 1 year Hiatus :`(
ReplyDeleteThey used surrogates mothers for the first batch but they are now ramping up so the other female clones will be brought into position.
ReplyDeleteI don't think you're answering the question that was asked...
ReplyDeleteThink if we send these to BBC America, or the Orphan Black tumblr, they'll get the hint? :)
ReplyDeletewas it already renewed?
ReplyDeleteif, not , are the chances good? i dont really follow ratings for this
