Gotta agree. The simple truth is recovering from addiction is hard enough, not starting voluntarily is harder. Right now, I'm wondering if Rusty's mom is using him to get money.
Overall, I liked the episode mostly because I love the episodes when Sanchez turns up his temper. But it was predictable. Guy says he didn't do a crime he was in prison for... he's always going to wind up dead and it will always be the most famous guest star or the witness against him. So that part was just meh.
Very weird title. One of the pleasant surprises was Rusty's open eyes with regard to his mother. He's aware of the pitfalls in this situation with his mother and, as freaked out as he is, being pretty level headed. Personally, I don't trust the woman. And she does owe everyone in the squad room an apology for stealing bus fare from them.
As for the case. I'm a little worried that they're heading for a Sanchez in serious trouble because of his temper story. That's two episodes in a row where he has to be dragged off of someone. I was glad that the reason Dante confessed didn't have anything to do with threats...and that the guy he did the time for was a real friend and not someone using him. It was refreshing.
Yeah, I also noticed how this is the second episode in the row Sanchez's temper gets a bit out of control. I think they may be headed for some personal subplot involving him. It may turn out good or turn out not so good. I'll just have to wait and see what happens in further episodes.
There is so little good on TV these days so I'm hanging in with Major Crimes, still liked The Closer better, but I have to say the Rusty storyline as the personal side of the characters is getting old for me and just not enough. Now we have his mother back, Urgh! They have not kept the Flynn and Prevenza dynamic either, they used to be so funny together and now Flynn seems to be developing some sort a relationship with Sharon, not sure where they are going with that. Just not seeing what was for me so much a part of the show the dynamic between the guys, Tao seems to be more in the background and Sanchez has such potential but they just keep having him lose his temper. Too much time spent in the police station too. The closer they got out to crime scenes which made the show more interesting. They are doing nothing with Buzz either.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
I can't shake off the feeling that Rusty's mother is bad news.
ReplyDeleteYou're right. I just hope that at the end of this storyline, Rusty achieves some closure with the part of his life his mother represents.
