  1. It's a very rare thing for me to vote Awesome, but vote Awesome I did for this tonight! Wow, where to start? Emmett, Luke and Emily are always at the top of their game but they all went that little bit further this evening and it shows! I think the finale is going to be even better than last years one, which I didn't think possible before S2 started if I'm honest.

    Things I loved:

Simon in the treatment centre - beautiful performance, a totally different side to Simon which brought out a much better understanding of the character. Part of me wonders if he could be the Undead Prophet? The voice does sound a little Irish at times, and perhaps it was just him hallucinating a better way out of the experiments?

Amy & Philip - I am so not a shipper, but don't they just belong together? I want to slap Kieren for not seeing how much she is suffering atm, he didn't even catch on to her asking him if Simon likes the way he looks without his mousse or seem to care that she was packed up and basically said goodbye for good to him, wft?!? Yet Philip noticed her first hand tremor and handed her his coat straight away, he really does care for her. The tent scene was a bit traumatic, and I wonder what this now means. Is 'nobody' right with his theory last week that she is coming back to life? -http://www.spoilertv.com/2014/05/poll-what-did-you-think-of-in-flesh_25.html#comment-1406163029

Maxine's brother - so I was wrong that it was a childhood friend that Maxine wanted to rise, it must be her brother after all. I'm still betting that she was responsible for his death in some way though. I wonder why we didn't see who Sandra pointed out to her though, could it be someone other than Kieren that she saw rise first after all? Hmmm....

  2. Awesome episode indeed ! The writing and directing are perfect, and Emmett Scanlan, Emily Grace Bevan & Luke Newberry are terrific. Hats off !

I don't buy a plot twist à la Fight Club, mainly because this episode hints quite a few times at Dr. Halpern being the Undead Prophet. I mean, what a a better place than a PDS treatment centre to recruit your disciples amongst the mistreated and disillusioned crowd ? I
was surprised that Simon have probably never seen the Undead Prophet's face but it makes sense considering that Simon knows him from a traumatic experience and that he is not... undead.

I am still unsure whether Maxine wants a second Rising to happen or not. Did she breathe a sigh of relief when she saw who Sandra pointed at as the First Risen ?

  3. I think Amy was the first risen instead of Kieren, maybe its linked to what has been happening to her,

I really love Amy/Philip as well, they have handled it so well and their relationship is incredibly touching.

  4. I still think she wants a second rising to bring back her loved one (all signs points towards her brother).

  5. Ha yes, I love that the old mum spoilt Hard Graft for them all! XD They totally deserved that, the whole lot of them, for the way she's been treated. Great deliver from her too, love the comedy in this show :)

  6. Yeah a lot of people brought that up last week when he told his story and I agree unreliable narrator probably fits. Amy is the one whose body is resisting the drug and then suddenly had a moment when she could feel again. I think she is something special plus it would be kind of funny after Simon annoyed her for Kieren only to find out Amy was in fact the special one.

  7. When I have a minute later I am going to have a look at my recording and see where Amy's photo is on Maxine's wall. I'm sure there's a reason why we didn't see Sandra point at Kieren ;)

  8. At first, I thought the same but then I watched the episode one more time to count how many disciples are at the "last supper" (they are 12, including Julian & Simon).
I am quite sure that Dr. Halpern is the Undead Prophet. He is in the background of every scene in the treatment centre and he seems to disagree quite strongly with Dr. Weston about the PDS (he considers them to be a superior species, not reanimated corpses as Weston puts it).
If I am right, I wonder if Simon finds out in the sixth episode that the Undead Prophet is the guy who tortured him in the treatment centre. That would be an interesting plot development...
