thought it was an interesting set up for the season, gave the ep a great will have to wait and see if the changes and set ups pay off (especially the nazi youth type reeducation camp plot) but I'm hopeful that they will
This episode didn't give us the full lay of the land for this season and there were a couple of points that bugged me. I loved seeing Matt not only following in his father's footsteps by taking a leadership position, but he *has* listened to the lessons his father was teaching about history. Really nice call back to the initial setup of the show. I'm going to wait and see on the Lexi cult story. I was a little bummed to see that for casting the teenaged Lexi the weren't able to find someone with the same physical characteristics of baby Lexi and little girl Lexi. Glad Cochise returned. I like him. Over all a really good episode.
I was pretty unimpressed with the premiere, mostly because it was like it sucker punched me & left me dazed. Seriously I can't be the only one who was REALLY confused can I? We just kind of got dumped into all this new stuff with like zero transition from last season's finale.
I was like eeewwwww and then I switched over. What were they thinking when they thought up this storyline I will never know. It's gross on sooooo many levels!!
It was weird, weird, weird; I mean, the tonal shift was just so out of the blue with no build up that it left me confused at first and by the end of the episode it seems like they tried to establish Falling Skies as a completely different show altogether, but it just didn't land. What are they trying to pull off here? These kind of crazy tonal shifts only works when they have been built up, but here it just happened, like they burnt the old Falling Skies and imposed the new one, and the new one doesn't feel better at all. I may quit the series
Awesome! This show keeps getting better & better. I love the new direction & they managed to bring my nightmare to life with the giant alien flying bug thing. I am glad they split up the group & we get to see them in positions we never did before (like Anne being leader). I am very wary of Lexi. Something just doesn't add up about the safe haven. I am wondering if the coma Ben was in will be something that will cause recurring probs? I thought the brainwashing school was just plain creepy. Tector & Hal teaming up was just great. The guy (can't remember his name) that offered to help Tector & Hal escape, is got me wary too. I don't trust him. The beg when they were attacked... just awesome how they filmed that. Overall, fantastic ep. We need a Season 5!!!
Oh that's just icky. Not only age difference but her boyfriend's brother? WTF?! Why not give Lourdes/Ben a shot...at least she's younger than Maggie and hasn't slept with Hal. That's just ewwwww. Plus didn't they kind of already do that with Hal/Karen/Ben back in S2?
I didn't get a lot of this to be honest..i was very confusing..but I like it, and that's probably the way I would have done it if I was showrunner, but I don't reallly get why they made a re-pilot (is that a real term or just something from community?) I mean, the show didn't reallt feel stuck, there was a lot happening in the previous season, there was a lot of interesting storylines and unanswered questions, so this wasn't that needed (compared to for an example the season finale of Revenge that finally made changes to the show). But even though they really dindt need a new format, I really like it, cause I love dystopias, but post-apocalyptic war-shows are preatty good too.. With all this said, I still did not get the episode.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
she's going to sleep with a 16 year old O-kay

Apart from the Daenerys cloning stuff, I found this opening pretty poor and almost confusing.

ReplyDeleteWait who are we talking about? I turned it off before the ending, i couldn't bother watching the rest of the episode.
ReplyDeleteIt was soooo boring, I didn't enjoy season 3 either but decided to give it another chance, I'll probably drop it before this season ends
ReplyDeleteMaggie and Ben...*Spoiler alert*
ReplyDeleteThere's going to be a love triangle between Hal/Maggie/Ben.
:(
