So I watched every single episode this afternoon and ended up loving the show. Definitely ship Karma/Amy, but ugh, Karma pisses me off sometimes. The dance tonight was one of my favorite moments between them ever.
And I'm supposed to feel bad for Karma when she's been oblivious to Amy this entire time and rejected her? Not pleased with Amy sleeping with Liam, but she was hurt. I don't blame her for making stupid-ass decisions.
We'll, I already saw this, but Liam, get the hell away from Amy. I really want Karmy, but when she said she didn't love her like that, everyone dies, it went crazy on Twitter. But I loved the dance scene, and Amy's speech to her parents, "you feel in love with your best friend" it was sad, but sweet :) But the ending, I know everyone wants to kill Liam.
In fairness to Karma she is pretty sure at this point in the series that she is straight (and in fact might be straight period) so you cant really blame her for rejecting Amy. Thought she actually did a nice job of it to but Karma didnt know what to do when Amy asked her "to try it" so she blurted out that she slept with Liam.
Seriously, if I found Liam in front of me, the character, not the actor of course, I don't know what I would do. I hate him so much, but he'll get what he deserves when Karmy happens. The dance scene was really amazing!
I think they were both broken-hearted, there's no way everything is Liam's fault, if anything it was Karma who did the lying and they both wanted to hurt her in a way.
I'm not sure there's no chance for Amy and Karma, but I think Karma needs and deserves more time to find herself out, I'm glad she was at least another season.
Not everything is Liam's fault, but he's a bastard and he has been in the wrong the whole season. And the finale just put him at the top of my hate list.
If Karma hadn't said "you're just confused" to Amy I would have a much more positive view of her role in the conversation, but between that and her needless confession that she slept with Liam [i.e.., revealing the extent of her lie to Amy at Amy's most vulnerable moment], it seemed like she was pretty much just dedicate to making things as easy on herself as possible.
I don't think those last 20 seconds were that bad. If you just root for Amy/Karma as a couple it's obvious you didn't really like the episode, but what happened was obviously going to happen sooner or later. Karma is straight and Amy is not, they can't just drag this pantomime for 6 seasons and a movie.
And I think Amy sleeping with Liam makes sense (there I said it!). I actually ended up hooking up with a girl after telling my best friend I was in love with him (and being rejected) in high school. True story.
I liked the episode overall, it changed the game completely, and I'm curious to see what they do in season 2. I even liked Lauren in this episode.
The Karma rejecting Amy was ok, but If they don't pull out of that ending in the beginning of next season, it's just super bad!
Come on:
1. It makes Amy a vengeful person. 2. It makes her whole speach about the 'first time being special' irrelevant. 3. It makes Liam an even bigger asshole! 4. It makes 2 15yo girls (who are best friends) sleep with the same person, who slept with half of the school!
5. It makes Amy's charcter arc for the season irrelevant. 6. It's the 'lesbian sleeps with the guy cliche' done yet again!! 7. It pretty much killls the girls friendship! 8. It creates cheap drama!
I could go on, but yeah it really pissed me off!! There were so many better ways to end that season :/
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

So glad the show got renewed yesterday!
The finale was leaked in Canada a week ago, so i already knew what would happen. Very disappointing finale.

ReplyDeleteYeah, the ending would have been insufferable otherwise.

ReplyDeleteSuch a good episode ruined by such a poor ending. There is so much wrong with that ending :/
