  1. I am thrilled this show's back since I missed it. Love Stahma taking charge of everything, especially since that's exactly what she wanted.

Nolan and Irisa's relationship is still my favorite. Did she casually call him "Dad"? Because I've been waiting for that and I thought it'd be a bigger deal. But holy shit at the hallucination, which I thought was real for a second.

    Can't wait for next week!

  3. great start to the season... the Nolan/Irissa relationship is still the best part of the show for me and I loved his trek taking him across the country and allowed us to see other areas...(not sure but I think they softened Irissa's makeup a bit in addition to giving her longer hair as she looked a bit more feminine/apealing to me liked it), loved the progression of Stahma's ascension to power and got a kick out of Datak's need for handy's..lol risque for a Syfy show... good start to the season... even though I guess it's a little too late for it, I still wish that they'd give us an ep or two (or even just webisodes) with more flashbacks to when the arcs came, inital war, terraforming etc to fill in/enrich the background of the show for us.... wtf is up with Irissa's homicidal ghost/hallucinations?

  4. Hey Syfy, you didn't need to make Nyrisa look more feminine...but I don't mind that you did.

  5. This is the second time I've seen a mention of Irisa calling him Dad but I must be missing it. Can you point me to the exact scene?
And I definitely agree with you about Nolan & Irisa's relationship. Those two are my faves <3 Love them!

-I'm continually surprised with Jamie Murray's acting talents. She's damn good.
-After all the shit he's perpetrated it's nice to see Datak in jail... even if it's short lived.
-Loved Nolan/Irisa continuing their badass ways.
-How has no one tried to assassinate Pottinger?

    Overall, great return.

  7. It's amazing how a little less forehead and a little more hair can seem like such a drastic change. However, I wouldn't say she's been made to look more feminine. They've just aged her look a bit. In season one she looked very much like a teenager and now she looks more adult.

Without the Nolan/Irisa relationship then this would be a fairly bland cookie cutter sci-fi/neo-western show. With them an interesting dynamic occurs.

  10. I'm totally loving our new junkie Amanda. Can't wait for next week! And Doc is hilarious! "You want me to check you for lumps?" :D I hope the rest of the season will be just as great as was its first episode.

  13. I loved the start of season 2! There will be a lot of great plot-lines if they play this right. I'm so excited to see Noland and Irisa returning to Defiance. They're bound to make some difficulties for the earth republic regime :-)

  14. I definitely noticed that they softened Irissa's makeup. At first it bothered me because they were making a tough character look more feminine, but I think that the reduced makeup actually gives her a wider array of expressions and generally allows her to be more relateable. Not to mention that she's as fierce as ever.
