I swear, if the season finale doesn't end with Danny and Riley together, I might just stop watching. I can tolerate characters NOT getting together, I'm not one of THOSE kind of shippers, as long as it makes sense. But the writers of this show have reached a point where it's crazy that they're not together. It doesn't make a single damn bit of sense that they're still just friends. I wouldn't be able to tolerate that moving forward.
Every single thing that Danny and Riley has done in the past that could make them more than friends has been blatantly ignored by the writers to continue with Ben and Riley. Danny and Riley have kissed twice, Riley knows about his feelings for her, and the writers have shown absolutely zero indication that either of those things matter. But they SHOULD. Those are not small things. For the majority of this season, they've written Riley like she has no idea Danny is in love with her, but she knows he is.
They're writing this SO badly. Actions have consequences, but the writers only seem to think that matters with Ben and Riley. The pictures for the season finale are promising, but that can just as easily end with the writers deciding to sink the ship. After how badly they've written the Danny and Riley dynamic this season, I wouldn't be surprised if they shoot themselves in the foot like that.
Ben and Riley don't have anywhere near the amount of chemistry as Danny and Riley. Most of the fandom wants Danny and Riley. I can understand wanting to stick with your original idea, but being inflexible has killed TV shows in the past.
I think I may be the only one that doesn't want Riley with either one of the Wheeler brothers :) I actually wouldn't mind if she got together with Ben, and it would be okay if she got together with Danny. But I don't ship for either couple. I'd prefer that the 3 of them got over each other, remain best friends and move on (although I doubt that will ever happen).
I have to admit the episode was very funny and I'm in no hurry for Danny and Riley to get together, I'm enjoying the slow burn, just as long as Riley and Ben don't become a couple I'm good.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

Couldn't said it better myself
ReplyDeleteYa I agree, Tho Ben is a good guy, Danny and Riley sort of belong together.
ReplyDeleteThe question of the day for Riley is what matters more, Someone you love, or someone who loves you.

ReplyDeleteHow can you not love someone like Danny? And I don't mean his appearance I mean the character.
