Versatile actor Scoot McNairy is joining Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, though nobody at Warner Bros will confirm it or tell us what the role is. The Zack Snyder-helmed pic is already shooting with Henry Cavill as Superman and Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane returning from Man Of Steel, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, and Holly Hunter also starring. Pic bows May 6, 2016 and leaves the participants (at least those not killed off) moving right into the Justice League movie. McNairy’s repped by WME and The Group. He’s coming off 12 Years A Slave, the just-opened The Rover, and Non-Stop.

ReplyDeleteI assume they're trying to cast all the main Justice League members before SDCC. They're probably hoping that the announcement will steal the spotlight from Marvel (who should be announcing their next slate of movies).
Why don't they just crossover to television like Marvel does? Just use Grant Gustin and Stephen Amell in cameos or something. Why are they making this so complicated?
ReplyDeleteIf the Green Arrow is going to be in the movie, then I agree Stephen should get the role. I can't say the same about Grant because I haven't seen him on screen as the Flash. However, maybe the movie is looking to cast the Green Lantern. I know Ryan Reynolds previously played the role on the big screen, but that movie wasn't exactly a success so I don't think too many people would be all that upset if Lantern was recast.

ReplyDeletePersonally for me I can't stand Amell as a actor and for me Arrow's version of Green Arrow is basically The Dark Knight trilogy's Batman in green with a bow and arrow.
ReplyDeleteA excellent version for TV but I'd rather see a different actor play the big screen version and you just know some moaners are going to complain about continuity etc if they use the TV version of Green Arrow.
As for The Flash, I've never seen that show yet so I don't really have a opinion on that one.
These are just my opinions though, not saying your right or wrong or have to agree with me but it's just how I see the situation. :)
