TVLine has learned exclusively that Laura Mennell, who played the “suggestive” Nina on Syfy’s Alphas, has joined Haven Season 5 in the recurring role of a brilliant (and, well, beautiful) epidemiologist from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention who fears the titular town is on the verge of a deadly viral outbreak.
Mennell’s character is described as “a force to be reckoned with,” as Audrey (played by Emily Rose), Nathan (Lucas Bryant) and Duke (Eric Balfour) quickly will discover. And while Dwight (Adam Copeland) will work overtime to keep hidden Haven’s secrets, the CDC whiz unknowingly uncovers a genetic marker found only in Troubled people. Could that mean a cure is around the corner…?!

I really liked her character on Alphas. Looks interesting.
ReplyDeleteI hope she isn't a new love interest for Duke.
ReplyDeleteOr worse, Nathan.
ReplyDeleteI don't think either Duke or Nathan .Sounds like she will be around Dwight most of the time. So i say him if she is even playing a love interest at all .Nathan has Audrey why would he want to be with another woman ?Duke will be morning Jennifer if she is dead .
ReplyDeleteSame. I hope she isn't a love interest at all, honestly. Her character sounds interesting, but this show has a terrible track record with female characters.
ReplyDeleteShe is a woman in Haven she will be dead before the season is over with ...LOL
ReplyDeleteWhy because she will die ? LOL ...She is a woman she will die anyway.
ReplyDeleteOh no! I hope they don't pull that crap.
ReplyDeleteIm not sure if Nathan can be an option. Even with Mara. We have 4 years of buidling up him and Audrey, they already throw couple of people between them.Chris,Jess,Jordan,Duke. William doesn't count since they were together.
ReplyDeleteSo another love interest is naive attempt to keep the main duo apart. They already have too many obstacles between them anyways.Mara as the biggest. The troubles per say. I believe by the time the scientist appears Mara could be past or hope she is. So any romance with her & Nathan is boring ,plus how you return from this with 26- episodes to wrap up the story,it's not like Nathan/Audrey are one side of the story, they are the main two. They already ruined their relationship in s3, isn't it enough?
As for Duke well can we say Jennifer is past? No one said about her being back,so it's obvious Jennifer rip. So Duke moves on so quickly?Well he kinda did the same between s2 when his wife died and s3 when he jumped to game "im in love with Audrey" still Jennifer was favorite so that might cause troubles to everyone.
The way the info is written makes you think Dwight spends time to solve the issue.I wouldn't mind him getting some action as long as the main get the screentime fair because in s4 the writers end up writing Colin's character and even Jennifer's with far more importance than the main characters.
my money on Dwight or the scientist for once is not love interest but causes many issues to the main characters .
More Spoilers Laura Mennell has been cast as a CDC epidemiologist who discovers a genetic mutation in troubled individuals. Dwight prevents her from seeing the troubled people for a few episodes. But she is apparently going to experience the troubles firsthand.
ReplyDeleteGrapevine rumors
At the point she comes in, Audrey is back to being "Audrey" again. The whole evil persona will only be there for a few episodes and then Mara will show up at random times. The 26 episodes are also not ending on a cliffhanger this time. But a sixth season (if green lit) could still happen. They are approaching Season 5 as a possible final season.
Not going to be surprised if this ends up being the final season .Syfy don't go past 5 seasons with their shows .
