"in the name of l'amour" ! lol i'm gonna give it a try... I have myself backpacked through most of europe for months at a time it's going to be interesting to see how they portrait us Europeans and backpacking... Also apart from "covert affairs" i don't see any american/canadian show filming in europe so I can't wait to see what places they're gonna go to.
Because the characters are all Americans, they'll likely go more stereotypical than if they were Canadian characters. Portraying them as Canadian characters would have meant that French would not be a foreign subject to them, even if they don't actually speak it.
It is a 100% Canadian production made by Shaftesbury Films (Toronto) and was brought to order by the CW (U.S.) and CTV (Canada) as a webseries last year. That it was bought by the CW doesn't make it less Canadian (just as buying an Armani suit doesn't make the suit less Italian).
It is my understanding that the new television series is now being co-produced by Shaftesbury's LA-based subsidiary and its Toronto-based digital media division.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
well I'm going to give this a shot just to see how they picture the european stereotypes.
ReplyDeleteOh yay, another Canadian series that made all its characters Americans. Hurray!
